This hotel took money from my credit card, but then turned me away at the door because you were full

All the staff was extraordinarily helpful and friendly.
Nothing I can think of.

Location and comfort
4.5
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room and bed were comfortable and we had a nice view of the city. Well located in SOHO where you could walk or take a quick Uber to galleries, shopping and eating.
Only ice machine was in the basement level and we were on the 19th floor! LOL. But this was minor.

Great location. Same block as the 1 train, which offers easy access to lots of the city. Near Soho. Room was comfortable and clean. Lobby was really nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Although I think we got a good price, it was still a very high price, but, it's New York.

Nice hot shower, very quiet room, minimal street noise
The pillows could be thicker, minimal food options

Location was excellent- beds were really comfy - staff were friendly & professional - check in and out was fast and efficient - would definitely stay again at a lower price
The price per night was very high. We realize it was during the US Open and all hotels were expensive but we felt it was overpriced and we reduced our vacation time in the city as a result of the increased cost

Great location and room on a high floor.
Rooms need renovation.

It was very centrally located

We reserved a room with a pull out bed. It was there and in the wardrobe cabinet there was a plastic bag with all the bedding necessary. We liked that there was ice and filtered water available. The staff was super friendly.
Sometimes the wait times for the elevators seemed long.

Frankly, there wasn't a lot of good to report.
This may be long, but read on - you'll want to know what you're getting. We booked a double/double that was listed as being 314 square feet. Since we were staying for 10 nights, with a teenager, we really wanted that space. So when we finally finished a long day of travel and checked in at midnight, it was supremely disappointing to find that the room was about half its advertised size. (BTW, this is not a fault of Booking.com, because Marriott's own site lists the same.) Since it was already past midnight, our choices were limited. We contacted Booking.com, who in turn contacted the property, and were told they would refund the remainder of the pre-paid rate, minus that night. Perfectly acceptable. However, when we checked out the next day, we were told we would also be charged an additional night's stay as an early cancellation fee. If we had decided to leave of our own accord, for whatever reason, I would say that too would have been perfectly acceptable. Since this was a blatant misrepresentation of the property, by the property, it seems highly unethical - to say nothing of legally dubious - that not only did they they not accept responsibility, but also charged the customer for their bait and switch. Outrageous. Having stayed at a number of Marriotts over the years, I can guarantee this experience means it will be my last.

i loved the soundproof rom since my friends were being very loud at 4am after a long night out really close to most bars and the subway is around the corner the same subway can take you straight to penn its a straight line.

Location
The room for 4 people was not adequate, so had to pay for an additional room and could have stayed at a 5 star for that price.
One room was overlooking the Varick st and was impossible to sleep due to bad sound insulation.
Rooms were not cleaned unless you call them to do so.
No water, have to buy at reception.
Weekend days are full of young party people so had massive noise from drunk ppl at night.
Not a family friendly hotel.
4.5
The staff was super nice and very accommodating.
The rooms were a little cramped feeling and the elevator didn't always work properly. Also, wish the gym was a little more updated.

Nice location, nice view. Clean bathroom, nice shower.
Thought there was continental breakfast but there wasn’t, and my wife got stuck in the pretty rickety elevator. Definitely need new elevators.
4.5
The location is good, one building away from the subway exit! The front desk was very nice! There is a morning-only Starbucks store right in the back of the lobby, and it's cheaper!
I left my I-phone charging and couldn't find it when going back after 2 days...
