I did not purchase the breakfast package. I loved the layout and spaciousness of the cottages and the fact u can literally walk to the safe beach area.
Room had hair in bathroom and sink/counter was still sticky in areas UGH. Kitchen had no supplies. Could really use: basic utiensils: a couple plates, spoons & forks, dish towel. Hated that I couldn’t get wifi most of the time I was in the cottage. Really needed it for work time

Location was good on another visit, but was too close to the flooding and the beach was closed.
Paying a resort fee that didn't include parking. The room was very expensive.

Eric’s wife, Sherry writing her stay at the resort. I really like the property is clean and well maintained. It had everything from tiki bar with food, breakfast & lunch cafe, two pools, and view of the ocean. They have daily activities too. I did a lei making class with some friends. I bet it would be better if we had access to the beach, however due to the storm it was closed for safety reason which is understandable. Keeping everyone safe.
Wished there was room service. They do let you order pick up at the cafe and it was a great reason for me to walk.

The room had great views, was very clean. The main lobby is lovely and easy access to the beach. There are resort activities included in your resort fee, but really only applies if you stay multiple days.
The soundproofing could use improvement--you can hear adjoining room toilet flushing like it's in your own room and noisy kids down below. On Booking, it said there was free parking--there is not, it is $25 a day. We ate dinner at Mamahunes and holy resort fees Batman-we ordered two sets of tacos and one drink. It should have cost us about $55 before tip--we got a bill for $80.

The Hotel is located next to the Beach Park. It has been maintained well. The hotel has two outdoor pools along with hot tub. Sunrise viewing is a literally walk across the park. We had a ocean view room so could view the sunrise from the window. The hotel also has laundary facility, which was very effective. Also, there was enough parking including a overflow area. The check-in and check-out was seamless experience. It is highly recomended for families with kids. The unique thing is that Lydgate Beach Park is right next to the property, and you can spend quality time both during sunrise and sunset hours and throughout the day too. As we did not avail the breakfast facilitiy, cannot comment on it.

nothing
We were told when when we arrived we had no room because it was out of order. We prepaid for an ocean view room. Finally they gave us a pool view room and said it was ocean view. The pool was closed. The electricity went out in the room for an entire day. They moved us to a no view handicap room. The fire alarm went off at 1:30am. The only food on the premisses other than a $24 breakfast was an overpriced pool bar with a very limited menu. The food was terrible.

What I liked about the property was how close it was to the beach.
At the tiki lounge, some of the servers would try and tip themselves.

the rooms were spacious.
the staff were un-informed told us incorrect information and when proven to be wrong did not even apologise. this happened on more than one occasion.
the food was inconsistent and the wait staff were not very competent. wrong orders delivered, other tables served before us when they arrived later. staff had no idea what was going on.
no service at arrival and the front desk staff never smiled or were friendly to anyone we observed.

not much like a normal Garden Inn, but it was a good and comfortable facility
Closer beach access. Also we paid for the fire show and related dinner, but it was expensive and wasn't worth the money.
One thing not the HGI's fault - traffic was horrible in the Wailua and Kapaa areas!!

The property is old and tired. Our shower had rust and mold stains. Our room rate over $700 per night got us a view of the other very close building. I requested a change but nothing. We waited over one hour every morning to get breakfast in the restaurant because no one advised us at check in that reservations were available. On checkout we forgot things in the refrigerator and were told to drive back to pick them up. The staff I spoke to on the phone and at the desk (I will spare the names) made little effort and we never did get it. Another 2 hours wasted. I was given a $76 dollar credit on a $2,000 bill for 2 days. I also paid for coffee while waiting one hour for a table! Here’s an idea , offer up a free cup of coffee,

This is a convenient location. Close to Kapaa and Lihue as well as several attractions such at Kauai Backcountry Adventures and Smith's Family Luau. Bar and breakfast area on site. Beach is right there as you are across from a park to the rear of the hotel. Spacious rooms.
This site could use some TLC. I observed some repairs that should be obvious to maintenance. Housekeeping was spotty at times. They came late in the day and several time left things undone such as making up the bed. You are paying top dollar to stay on this island. Don't be so stingy with things like coffee cups. Billing required review. Some of this I blame on Booking.com. They need to better coordinate with the sites. Front desk was pleasant. Staff at Mamahume's Bar & Grill were overwhelmed at busy times and they let you know about it. It's not my problem, I am the customer. Tom the bartender should seek another profession that does not involve customer service.
