Hardman House is a very old, rustic American West hotel. The carpeting throughout definitely showed its age, but the overall cleanliness and superior helpfulness of the staff, combined with the terrific location near the heart of historic downtown Carson City made it an absolutely wonderful stay. 30 minutes from both Lake Tahoe and Reno! What’s not to love about that!!
Carpeting was very old and had stains, but it was clear that the staff was cleaning the place every day.

The staff was friendly, and the check-in process was fast. The AC works well
Neighborhood was quiet
The bathroom had a smell, and mold on the ceiling. The carpet had sand and overall felt very outdated.
We had a 1 queen room bed, and the bed was awful. The springs were so worn out that my husband and I felt like we were sinking into the middle of the mattress all night. The pillows were little squares, so hard that our necks were bent all night as well.
We stayed only one night, and we barely slept because of the bed. Needs to be renovated soon!
I would not stay again, is cheap and well-located but is not worth it.

Loved everything about this place!

This was our 4th stay at the Hardman. Obviously we decided to return because we thought it was a comfortable place and a good location.
This time the bed was probably the worst we have ever slept on at a hotel. Very worn, my husband could feel every lump, spring, and bump the old mattress had. Even the bed spread had a hole in it!! Room 206 needs a new bed and bed spread!

I feel safe
having to go outside to smoke

The room was immaculate, room service cleaned the room and changed the bedding during my stay-an unexpected positive. Great desk staff. Morning breakfast was fresh and complete. Having a refrigerator and microwave is good.
The bed needed new pillows. Soap and shampoo provided could have been better quality.

sheets on bed in one of the rooms had not been changed and had blood on them most likely from a woman on her period.

The staff is absolutely amazing. We have stayed at this hotel for many years the night before the Nevada Day parade. The rooms are always clean. Even with the negatives the hotel is a good value.
I did notice the hallway carpeting is stained and needs to be cleaned or replaced. The hotel is older so the beds aren't completely horrible. Kids slept in one bed and my husband and I slept in the other which sagged in the middle. It was disappointing that our windows did not have screens and could not be opened for fresh air due to a bee issue. The staff tried to accommodate with fans but fans do not substitute for fresh air.

The location and value of the hotel was wonderful. The ease of checking in and out was also nice. I also enjoyed the wine and cookies.
I wish there was a little more selection of the morning breakfast and little more lighting in the room.

Location awesome! Comfy bed. Shower, fridge, coffee maker worked well, room spacious. Regina was amazingly friendly upon check out and was a highlight!
One window could not open due to broken spring, toilet seat looked worn (wooden - no longer white at top).

The staff was friendly, room was clean, great location, and breakfast was simple but we got full tummies.
The only complaint is that the bed pillows were hard.

Parking, size of room, microwave & frig
...Toilet not flushing properly, electric wall outlets scarce, shower curtain not lined,
Ice machine on only 1st floor, carpet unclean, key for room not programmed correctly....locked out twice in 9 days.
Evening attendant was unapologetic and unconcerned . One nite stay may have been tolerated, though not 4 nine nites. Would not recommend or return to this motel....needs total update in all areas.

Front Desk Staff minus the unreasonable "Manager"
Manager unable to support $154.00 in arbitrary additional charges upon checkout. Only $100.00 of the $254.00 additional charge was valid. Terrible Breakfast Sack Style.
Additionally, on March 9th we changed rooms to Room #310 after reporting to the Front Desk that one of the CEILING TILES above the entry into Room #309 was out of place, and looked like it had been removed while we had been out of the room. After explaining to the Front Desk that we have had several strange occurrences lately and a break into our RV, we wanted to call the police and have this investigated. While we were out at breakfast discussing what to do, and still checked into Room #309, the Manager directed the Front Desk to have Maintenance enter our room and re-place the ceiling tile properly into the frame. This was a serious violation of our privacy and a serious violation of our direct request. Every person deserves to feel heard and feel safe when staying at any facility listed on Booking.com.
I WOULD ADDITIONALLY LIKE TO REQUEST ALL CHARGES FROM THIS FACILITY BE REFUNDED!!!
