The breakfast was fantastic, the rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated. Tea location is also second to none. We've stayed here twice now we loved it so much!
Nothing, the staff were so friendly. Couldn't fault the place.

Great breakfast. Loved the location.
Nothing in your control but the college kids leaving the bar scene on King Street around 2:30 A.M. could be heard from our room. Also I do not like having to pay for parking at a private location. I think you should include it in your room price so the customer does not have to see it as a line item expense.

The complimentary breakfast was amazing. The staff treated you like you were part of the family. The facilities were beautiful and decorated like you went straight back in time. Within walkable distance to many restaurants and shops.

Absolutely wonderful Stay at the Barksdale Inn. The staff was very pleasant and helpful every time we interacted with them and our room was amazing. This place really takes you back in time in the heart of historic Charleston. Highly recommend!

Amazing 200 plus year old house converted to an inn. Lovely antique touches throughout, yet with all the modern conveniences. Amazing choices for breakfast always served with a smile. Afternoon tea with sandwiches and goodies and a glass of wine! Location couldn't be better for touring around in the historic area of Charleston.
It is a pet friendly place and unfortunately one of the rooms had a dog that the pet's owners left unattended in their room and it barked nonstop for half an hour. Of course this was after hours so had to contact the after hours number to report. The next morning the staff said they had a discussion with the guests and we never heard the dog again. Not really an issue of the inn, more inconsiderate pet owners but still affects your stay.

Location.
Old and run down. We were on top floor, no elevator, no one offered to help with bags and the old carpet covering the stairs was dirty when we got there and wasnât vacuumed once during our stay. Floors creak and as itâs an old house noise carries into rooms.

Loved the old nostalgic home. Waking up to the smell of breakfast in the house. Clean and well appointed. Cute welcome goodies on our bed when we arrived. The breakfast was AMAZING. Loved the location but we love to walk. 25min down to the battery 10 or so to the market.
the matress we had was a little old, a full size bed is too small for any couple (I knew it before but this confirmed it for me), room was just the right size for us but we only had an overnight bag. if we had more or a bigger bag I'm not sure how it would have worked

The breakfast was amazing! Maureen went above and beyond in friendliness, helpfulness, cooking ability, and service!
Bathtub drain was clogged and cold water faucet handle was broken. We told the front desk, but nothing was done about it.

Breakfast food tasty. Wide variety of options. Tv app options. Rooms were nice. Beds were good. Wine opener. Fridge. Snacks. Water. Games. Outlet plugs for a variety of cords. Easy to arrive late! Directions were clear.
Water and more snacks in carriage house. More games to play. The wait for breakfast food (sometimes it took 30 minutes before she took our order). Bathtub didn't hold water. Happy hour would be nice. Ability to bring breakfast food back to the room. Mosquitos were bad in courtyard.

Exceptional breakfast and very kind and attentive staff. The House and the rooms style are very genuine and make you feel in a different place. Location is optimal to explore downtown and the historic district on foot. We will recommend this place to eveyrone and we hope to come back soon!!
The TV was a bit too far from the bed for the screen size, I would recommend moving the TV furniture to the front of the bed instead of the closet.

Having an en suite bathroom in a historic house was great. The beds were very comfy and room was well appointed. Miss Maurine's hot breakfast service was outstanding! Loved that there were games available to borrow. Parking on-site was very convenient and the rate was reasonable. Having snacks, coffee, water, sweet tea available in the parlor when the kitchen was closed was great for my kids. Great location with plenty of historic sites and places to eat within walking distance.
Wish a cot or roll-away bed had been available to borrow for my youngest child to use.

Room was exceptional. The staff was extremely helpful especially the lady who was the cook/server at breakfast. Meals were great and the server was so nice. Location was great.
The mattress in room 5 is probably near the end of itâs useful life. Needed to be softer.

The room did have a musty smell but the building is old

I like the staff - all super nice - and location. Cheap parking on site. Much appreciated.
The bed and mattress had a dent and were uncomfortable. The room, bathroom in particular, needs updating.
