Das historische Hotel ist liebevoll eingerichtet und befindet sich an einer tollen Lage.
Das Bett war etwas unbequem.

We loved the quirkyness of the historic building, the location was excellent and the staff were great.
Our check-in was complicated because Dee (the manager) had tried to contact us in advance but we didn't have internet connection whilst we were travelling. We resolved this easily with the help of the restaurant manager from the hotel's sister company. (which was also a great place to eat!)

1) Exceptional staff. 2) Requested an air mattress at the last minute; they accommodated me quickly and without issue. 3) Most importantly, they saved me parking spot for me, came out to the parking lot to greet me, and carried my bag without having to ask... a pleasant surprise.
Nothing.

My visit was absolutely Horrible.. I booked the Cauldron room when I went to check in they told me that room wasn't available, they already booked it to someone else. So after about 2 hours of run around they put us in a 1 double bed room with a air mattress on the floor instead of the 2 bedroom suite I already paid for. With No compensation for all of my discomforts. We were celebrating my Austic son birthday which was ruined by upsetting situation.
Put us in wrong room..I paid for The Cauldron room and put us in a tiny room.

the location was perfect and the room was unique. nice and quiet.
no coffee/tea in room. The breakfast was disappointing , we had to clear a table to sit and very little food left for us at 9:15 am. the coffee was cold already as was the hot water for tea. The manager Dee was great upon arrival. but the house keeping was grumpy and rude.

nice common balcony
no maid service, check-in requires calling a phone number (that’s inconvenient and expensive for foreigners) but thankfully a staff member helped

Nothing!! It was awesome!

The staff went above and beyond to bring us breakfast well before breakfast time.
We had an early flight and left the hotel at 5am. The staff brought hot coffee, muffins, fruit, and yogurt
to our room at a very early hour to make sure we didn't go hungry.

Knowing this is a historic hotel is what attracted us to this property! Nestled in the heart of Old Town San Diego, this gem is so worth everything to stay here!!! Upon check in, we were greeted at the door and given personal service. Knowing this building has been around since the founding of San Diego before it was even San Diego, We expected some old ascetics. The hotel only has 11 rooms. We selected Room #1 (With a pine tub for up to two people). Being a classic historic building, every room has air conditioning that works soo well!!! Every room has a quiet air purifier. The doors have modern locks but the old school original door knobs. All rooms are on the second level. there is an elevator but it is just as easy to take the stairs if you can. Our room had like a little changing room/parlor that had a notebook with the history of the hotel and the old town district. What I loved was a little notebook that is left there to read about every one's experiences. We added ours last night. There is parking in the lot in front of the hotel but be sure to put the pass they give you so you do not get towed. We received a 10% off card for Casa de Reyes... GO!!!! We had such an amazing time!!! The bed and sheets and quilt on the bed were so comfy!!! There is wi-Fi but there are no TV's in keeping with the old West motif. This was perfect! You will not regret staying here!!
I would have liked to have had one more day. that is on me, not them. Parking can be a hassle early in the day but as business close or the night, you can move closer. I really have nothing bad to say about this property!

Dee is a wonderful host! Very helpful, always with a smile and a good topic of conversation. The hotel is 'antique', its in the middle of old town and you can feel it has been functional for many years (in a good sense). The room is perfect, clean and spacious.
It was hard to find groceries nearby the hotel (just touristic restaurants). Also the breakfast could improve a bit.

A pleasant, stylish place where you breathe history at every step. Rooms are beautiful, tidy, and surprisingly comfortable, especially considering the age of the building. The host is a delightful person, very tactful and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone.

Great place in great location. We didn't get the Queen room as per reservation, only the double bed room. Received two free dinners as consolation, which we accepted and was great. Dee was awesome!
Toilet was running all night. Shower drain was clogged. Both need maintenance.

Noise. Room comfort.

The location was great!
Room doesn’t seem to be clean enough especially the mirror looks so dirty. its seems to be there’s nobody else except the manager. And, The restaurant was closed due to stuffing shortage in the hotel which I made me feel disappointed. Actually, I was given 10% discount voucher that helps a bit. Another issue was louder noise was coming from the sewage system all night, really bothered.

Robin was amazing!!! She checked us in and made us feel at home. She was always available if we needed her. We loved how close we were to everything in town. We were there for Cinco de Mayo and we had our parking saved for us. With a 4 month old being able to park close really helps. Thank you for being so kind to our family!!! We will be back!!!
Honestly we loved our whole experience!!!

Breakfast was okay, typical for a low end motel. Just a packaged muffin, yogurt, and fruit. I was surprised how late breakfast was served, as I was leaving at 8am and it wasn’t available then. I managed to snag mine off a cart as I was leaving for the airport.
Better communication about late checkin, as well as earlier breakfast (since it was all prepackaged food I was surprised I couldn’t get it at 8am or earlier).
