It is an old inn with floral decor. I can see how it is popular for weddings in the summer. The breakfast was essential and with a friendly staff. There was a game room with pool and fussball tables, which was great for us. Both are very run down, but we could make it work. We had a nice room with a queen and a king bed, a small fridge, and space for our ski boots, jackets etc. It was an easy 7-minute drive to Okemo mountain.
I wonder if we were unlucky, but we had no hot water for the two nights. A letter at the front desk told us that it should work sometimes and we should try to make the water run for 5-10 minutes. That did not work. (I tried at different times and not only at busy times - e.g., 2 pm). There was no wifi either, which could be a great break, but with a teen and a preteen, it would be nice to watch a movie (of your choice) in the evening after skiing. They did have cable tv in the room, though.
We had close to no interaction with the staff. No explanation or apology for the lack of hot water or wifi. There was a phone where you could call a staff member, so we could have made a deal out of it, but we didn't. I assume they are doing their best to make it work ...

The property had an incredible aesthetic and atmosphere. The staff was second to none in quality, friendliness and knowledge of the area. Tom and the inn keepers treated us extremely well and made our stay exceptional!
There really wasn’t anything to complain about in regards to our stay!

The breakfast was excellent; the servers efficient and friendly. The location of the inn was nestled in beautiful scenery near a gorgeous lake and very accessible to scenic routes. While the Inn is old, it is quaint and has a real charm about it.
A comfortable chair placed in the room would have added comfort and a microwave in the room would have been nice. There are also rather steep stairs to climb to reach the room.

Unique, great setting near the lake.
Wonderful breakfast included: smoked salmon feta cheese omelette, French toast, orange juice and coffee/tea for the two of us.

our check in by Tom the end keeper went flawlessly and he covered every detail of getting us set up and are very quiet and well situated room. There’s a beautiful lake just a short walk away if you wanna borrow canoe or kayak they have it. Nice little bar to sit in and have a drink before heading down to dinner. We shared multiple different plates and everything was delicious. The mushroom soup was over the top incredible. The duck was also very scrumptious. Our room was quiet and we slept great on the comfy beds. I had French toast the next morning with Vermont maple syrup and that did not disappoint. We asked for a little bit of a late check out and it seem to be no problem at all. There’s ample parking across the street and we played a few rounds of corn hole before dinner on the pretty meadow. I would highly recommend this place. It was an easy drive to Boston the next day

The breakfast was excellent and service very good. Staff and Tom were very accommodating and pleasant.
Location was convenient. Although we did not have dinner there the prices seemed in line. Although we did not use the pool it looked good.
The rooms are dated although they looked clean. The water pressure was so low that taking a shower was a challenge. It probably has to do with the water being supplied by a well.

I liked sitting on the front porch with before dinner drinks and after breakfast coffee. I also loved the access to the lake, not that we had time to use it. The country in this area is beautiful.
The room could have had a chair for working on a computer and the prices for drinks and meals were a little high.

Very clean, quaint & welcoming inn to stay. We were here to ski at Okemo. Great location. On Rt.100. Easy access north to Killington or south to Manchester. Near Jackson Gore area of Okemo. Beautiful area. Nice to be in the country but near Ludlow.
Only issue was having to wait for the hot water to take effect in the shower. So we learned to plan ahead, that’s all!

Breakfast: The omelettes tasted good. The coffee was fair.
Dinner: I had soup and it was delicious, and so was the Von Trapp Pilsner.
Breakfast time is only between 8 and 9am.
For dinner, even house guests must have a reservation. I did not know ad can't remember if I heard that when I arrived. There was quite a lot of information given to me, and I could have overheard it.
On Friday, on my last day of 4, there were more guests but not a full house. Still at 8:30am - 1/2 hour innto the breakfast period - there was hardly any food left. I was never even asked if I wanted coffee. I got my breakfast coffee from the den's Keuric machine.

This place has a lot of character. The breakfast was excellent and our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were both a good size. We liked how the beds were placed at opposite ends of the room.
There is no elevator. I understand this, given the age of the building, but was not aware prior to our arrival. You might want to request a room on the first floor. They have a few. We were also disappointed that dinner was not served the nights we were there.

We have been visiting the Ludlow VT area every year for Columbus Day weekend for 6 years, always staying at a friends house, and decided this year to try an Inn. It was a great decision to stay at the Echo Lake Inn based on location, value, and amenities. Tom was an excellent host, making us aware of all the Inn had to offer while we stayed the night. We enjoyed the grounds, including the tennis courts, tavern, and fire pit. Next year we plan to use the kayaks, and spa.
The location is a short drive to Ludlow, Plymouth, and Woodstock... which are all great day trips for foliage in October. The Inn is right on the main road and very quaint, boasting some incredible history. We stayed in the Coolidge Suite- where President Calvin Coolidge had stayed, and the space was great for our family of four. Breakfast was included and was a delicious country breakfast that the whole family enjoyed.
