Old time bar was very interesting. I felt like I was a miner taking time off from the mines at Bodie from the 1880's. I can't imagine how many miners stayed in the room I was in since the hotel was built.
restaurant prices were high.

the hotel being a classic from the past
when the room next to ours the folks took showers. it was so loud I actually went out into the hall to see what was happening. I did not like using a space heater to warm up the room

I had passed this historic looking inn on my way to Lake Tahoe many times and thought on this occasion I would like to break up my trip with an overnight here. The place is obviously a converted venerable home from back in the day and has a nice interior and parlour area that serves as a hotel reception. The bar area is small and comfy.
The room advertised was literally the size of a closet with only a hall tree (piece of furniture with hooks on it) to hang clothes. The linens were piled on top of that. There was no television...not a huge deal as there was wifi available, but again, unexpected. 2 bathrooms are shared by 10 rooms. Not a huge deal, but my room was nearest the bathroom and at 4am when other travelers began to rise and shower it was constant foot traffic and noise. Everyone on the hallway's door, because of weathering, did not open or close properly so did so with a loud BANG, further disrupting sleep. Lastly, though it was warm in the hallway on the way to the bathroom, my room was literally FREEZING with no heating fixture in the room and no extra linens to put on the bed. No one to call (no phone in the room either) and no one on duty at 4am for sure to do anything about my chattering teeth. If I had wanted to take the time at the end of my stay to complain I would have, but I was in a hurry to reach my final destination so thought I'd write a review (which I never take the time to do but making an exception here) to tell you to stay somewhere else!

My stays there have always been excellent.

The staff was friendly and great location.
It was very hot in the room. Small rooms and the beds were uncomfortable. You could hear other guests loud and clear. Got very little sleep.

location in Bridgeport CA and it had it's own restaurant
No A/C and it was 91 F outside and inside it was hot. No bathroom, only a shared bathroom and shower down the hall

Excellent downstairs restaurant.
Lack of air conditioning on a very warm evening. Window did not stay open. Poor ventilation between room and hall. I paid over $100 for a very small and very warm room.

Great location, clean rooms, friendly employees. Historical "haunted" building.

I wish I had earplugs. I went to bed early and was hearing people, especially in the bathroom right next to me...

Location was good.
Wifi didn't work in outer building. TV volume was difficult to operate. Hot water barely came on. Lamp out had to request lightbulb change.

Cool building, good location, friendly staff.
Bed was springy and loud, also the hall windows need some tinting as light at night makes it difficult to sleep.

The room had three queen beds, just what we needed for our family to be comfortable.
