I love the pet friendliness (though the fee is high) and fresh, clean décor of the Graduate hotels, including this one in Madison. The staff is very courteous.
The add-on fees for parking and pets increased the cost of my stay by half, which seems excessive. The rooftop bar/restaurant is really for the college kids all around the hotel - not the guests at the hotel. It was too overrun even in July (school not yet in session) to make any use of the free drink voucher they hand out at check-in. The restaurant also gave way to the drink-a-thon atmosphere of the bar and closed early - which was very disappointing after driving 13+ hours that day in anticipation of an easy-to-access dinner before bedtime.

Snow to get early check in. Helped a lot as wedding we attended started at 4. Employees were amazing and appeared to love working there.

Such a cozy hotel, and an amazing staff!

We got there late. Valet was very nice and helpful. Front desk was helpful and nice. Went to the rooftop restaurant for burgers and fries and the food and service was really good and friendly. In the morning there is a coffee and pastry shop. Also a Mini Target around the corner. Nice clean rooms, although bathrooms are really small, it is good for one night and very pet friendly.
I have stayed at another Graduate before, so I though that it would be bigger, but it is pretty small. ok for one night.

Had a small room, but was decorated nicely and didn’t feel as tiny as it was. Beer cheese dip with tater tots!
Overnight parking a little steep

Location—was in town for a concert and hotel was a mile and a half away from venue. such a close location was certainly not a necessity though and was definitely not worth the cost of the stay
Terrible parking situation, first and foremost. deceptive front desk staff around this as well—I was told valet parking is available for like 40 bucks per day, there is also a parking garage on so and so corner for “slightly less.” the garage was 8 dollars.
My second primary complaint also involves the hotel staff not being up front about pricing. I was traveling with a dog, and contacted the hotel in advance to make sure that would be okay. Typically when asked about the pet policy, a hotel will disclose the pet policy right? So when the response to my inquiry was “yep that won’t be a problem!” I thought sweet, no pet policy! Then I arrive in Madison and I have to pay $35 a night for my pet. $35 is expensive, although not at all outrageous for a pet rent. I would have really appreciated knowing the rate before booking (when I asked about it!), it likely would have influenced my choice in hotel.

The location is great if you want to experience the campus. Clean room. Hotel and valet staff were helpful. Nothing else.
The rooms are small and overpriced. No complimentary breakfast or parking which is surprising with how expensive it is to stay here, you have to pay extra for both. The rooftop bar is overpriced and not very welcoming from staff.

The Graduate Hotels have a great atmosphere, they are hip and fun with lots of beautiful artwork. Aside from the design, the amenities are above and beyond.
When we gave our keys to the valet, he realized the car was a standard and told us that he did not know how to drive it. Not a big deal, we just had to park ourselves.
