Feeling ripped off while our hearts were grieving

The staff were great. And we liked the facility. Mostly clean.

All the hotels in San Marcos were booked for some race in Austin. But - We were in San Marcos to say our final goodbye to our mother. The Room Rates were tripled!!!!! We paid $330.00 a night for our 37 year old daughter to sleep on a roll away! Because we booked a double room online with booking.com, but they had none available when we arrived.

1. The signage to the entrance was not visible. We passed it up twice and how to do a big U-turn. 2. The workers of the breakfast area were rude and unfriendly. 3. When our room was ready, we had to leave the door open and luckily I brought an extra fan from home because I like the sound and had the fan blowing air out of our room because it smells so much like bleach and cleaning supplies. We had the door open for several hours trying to get the smell out. 4. The exhaust fan did not work in our bathroom so when we took a shower, all the steam was left inside. 5. The doors were too hard for my father-in-law to open. He was in a wheelchair. And it was very difficult for him to get around. I don’t believe that this hotel was wheelchair friendly. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). I do believe that I do have issues now while he was inside of his room he was able to get around inside. But the restroom downstairs were not friendly he had difficulties opening the door and we were unhappy with that it made him feel uncomfortable. 6. The pool and sauna location. The gate was broken. The pool was dirty.

The breakfast at this location was amazing. The staff was so nice and even called to make sure my room was ok. The room was HUGE and bed was super comfortable. Resturant staff was so sweet. All and all this was a great hotel for a great price.

clearly an old hotel they tried to renovate but was not done right at all. plus rooms are very small and air stinks.

Breakfast that was included was coffee and danish. Full breakfast of eggs, etc you had to pay for..

After a long day of traveling in bad weather around Dallas we tried to get something to eat from the bistro in hotel at 9 pm. Girl at bar said they stopped cooking an hour before bistro closed.

parking was very far from entrance but not bad . breakfast was small , you could order room service but it was an additional charge.
