An incredible journey to the mountain top and back down to a good night's sleep

I booked the lodge as an extension of booking the company's tour of helicoptor to the dog sledding mushing camp on the glacier. To simply walk back to my room after the incredible experience on the glacier was wonderful.

Because I was there during shoulder season I did not meet any additional guests. I would have loved talking to others and their travels.

Phenomenal

Views, tours, location, room, bathroom, bed, restaurant. Everything was great. Would have been nice to have a microwave in the room, but it has been the highlight of the trip.

The helicopter tour messed up the names and didn't take us on the lower landing because they mixed up our groups. They were unable to take us back and refunded the money. If you go confirm with the pilot they have the right name and tour.

Awesome location. Phenomenal staff/service !

Peaceful, beautiful setting. What we didn't know, is that they have a fairly big (and growing) helicopter service behind the main lodge, to transport people to the nearby glacier. Service can start as early as 8am, so they claim, but we never head anything sooner than 8:30am, and that didn't bother us, as we were up & heading to adventures by then. Cabin was clean & cozy. The service was #1, the lodge food was terrific, and it was quintessential Alaska around us. We also didn't know they had laundry service which is only 1 set of machines, but it served us really well, as we were just over half-way on our trip, and needed to wash some clothes; our plans to do so in Talkeetna would have been seriously disappointing, as we saw nothing quick/convenient, as the machine at the lodge. Pop clothes in; enjoy a drink, dinner; move to dryer; add more clothes. We had to wait once for others, but one load is typically 35mins, so no big deal.

The helicopters. They flew around the cabins, as much as they can to get to the rear of the lodge when returning. Can run late (8pm), but we never saw them run later then 6:30pm. Also, it's address claims Palmer AK, but it is 30mins (south/south-east) from Palmer. Not so bad, but ought to set your expectations. We expected it to be on the edge of Palmer proper, so our drive to/from Matanuska Glacier went from 1hr to 1.5 hrs; our fault for not researching more. Glad to drive the additional 30mins for the end-of-day peaks and beauty around us, as well as the #1 service from the staff -- they were terrific.

So cute and the restaurant is amazing! We ate dinner there both nights and even had lunch. Really enjoyed our stay!

The bed up against the wall and also they have blinds but blackouts would be nice since we had 20 hours of light

Check in at the hotel had to be done on an IPad, while there was front desk staff. Very impersonal. E-check in is convenient, yet you don't have wifi/data everywhere in Alaska!

Relaxing & very peaceful with serene surroundings

Staff are very friendly. I love the beautiful surrounding mountain view without street noise. It is such a sweet treat to stay here & is one our favorate places to stay & eat.

Fantastic place, especially if you like helicopters.

If you are into air cooled Porsches you're going to love the sound of the R44's starting up in the morning. The cabins were great as was the food and location. We booked due to a change in plans and had a great time.

A friendlier reception would have been nice.

Awesome experience and will be back on next trip to Alaska

The cleanliness and beauty of the area was awesome. It was also fun watching the helicopters come and go. We also took one of these tours. Incredible views. Food was excellent and staff superb. Got to meet the manager and head chef on this trip. Super nice and sociable to us. Very welcoming.

The only thing disappointing about this stay is we were unable to go to the dog sled camp due to clouds and fog. Absolutely nothing negative about this property and staff.

I loved the location of the property. It was a bit far out from anything but that didn't matter to me. The cabins were amazing and had plenty to offer. The on-site restaurant was very good as well. There are helicopter tours that you can take directly from the property. I would stay here again. Oh and the Mac n Cheese was the best I've ever had

Off the beaten track but due to the pandemic not much going on, restaurant (great food) only open for dinner. 10+ miles to the nearest breakfast 😢

Charming cabins

It's a gorgeous place with great scenery and cute, spacious cabins.

WiFi didn't work in the cabin and our water randomly shut off in the morning. I also wish the restaurant was open all week so we could try it!
