The pool, staff and spaciousness of the unit was ideal.
The units are very 70s style and there’s no bar or access to ice. Also have to drive everywhere. Nor walking distance.

The room smelled like chemicals, the toilette seat was so old it seemed it was from before Christ.
We didn't stay.

Love love love this quaint little boutique hotel was not too busy. Staff was amazing. Would stay here again.
Had some issues with ants. Also a couple of residents on Saturday night were up till 4am which kept us awake! Was not impressed….. should have quite time after 11:00pm just a suggestion

A charming and quiet experience! I had a wonderful room with a pool view and private patio - the space itself was over 1000 ft.² complete with kitchenette. Alex the manager is friendly and keeps the grounds meticulously. Elizabeth Taylor once owned this property and stars like Marilyn Monroe and Walt Disney once stayed here. Its a tranquil piece of Palm Springs history. If you sre looking for ultra-luxury or an economy motel - don’t come here. Rather, come to A Place in the Sun for a quintessential Palm Springs experience.
Wasn’t allowed to bring colleagues during the day for business meeting.

Loved the hotel history which Alex explained at check in. Grounds are well kept with mid century vibe. Bed was comfy. Pet friendly and right next to a good dog walking park. 30 per night for dog is reasonable for the area. Close to down town dining and shopping.
My unit had a tiny bathroom with an old toilet seat that was moving around. Tiny bath had no ventilation and was a steamy place to try and put your face on. Ok for a night but if I stayed longer I would have preferred a unit with a better bathroom.

The place was nice adults only pool was heated. Overall was a great place. We definitely will be back.
Not enough towels. Oh yeah, for the pool and shower.

Special place in the Sun for sure , beautiful rooms , we didn’t get the best one but will be for next time , private and safe location and parkin in the middle of one of the most beautiful city in the world , Raffa and Giselle.
Dead cockroach in the patio , AC not workin well , and need thicker blankets. For the rest , wonderful place . Maybe add carpet in rooms .Floor was pretty cold

It is a great property if you have the correct unit. My unit had a very long hallway and was a small studio. Our “suite” was squeezed in between the manager’s apt and the security hub that faces the walk way to the front entrance. We had a large window which faced out onto an inaccessible courtyard and when the windows were drawn open, had a view of a ten foot , wooden privacy screen on wheels. This was to of course maintain the privacy of the manager who often passed through the back patio to go to the security room ( where I assume was used either as a secret party room or a hub for the multiple cameras angled in every direction. The manager was so accommodating and welcoming on our first visit and transformed into Scrooge by Christmas. I’m sorry, for this motel to claim that they are dog friendly is a gross exaggeration ! Dogs are not allowed to accompany the owners ( on leash of course) to Any part of the lush grounds which they take so much pride in. There is actually a $250 “accident” fee if a your pet were to pee on a cactus planted by Elizabeth Taylor herself! They entered our room without our permission on our last morning to see if our power returned. They left me a nasty gram text message claiming that it was against the rules to leave your pet in the room while you went out to enjoy breakfast. So two faced. So greedy. So disappointing! I could not tell you how I enjoyed the grounds because I was not welcomed to enjoy them. This was the saddest Christmas experience. Alex has a lot to learn in-terms of customer service and hospitality. And for the record, my dog is the most obedient, loving and friendly small pet. We were gone so often because the room was so small and so miserable to be in.
Dog friendly? This is not run by a man who is friendly to dogs. If you have a dog, don’t believe their hype. The $ 250 “ accident fee” also applies to the remarkably unremarkable, “privacy terraces”. The hotel Zoso is a dog friendly hotel. Arrive is a dog friendly resort, The Kimpton Rowan is the gold standard.

Other than the fact that there was parking, nothing else was worth a single penny
I didn’t like anything about the hotel towels were dirty. It had stains on it, but was very uncomfortable rooms did not even have heater floors were extremely wet and it didn’t have any signs of wet. Be careful of slip and fall. It was a horrible, horrible experience.

It’s away from the action, quiet and relaxing. Checking was easy. Alex is great!

Grosszügiges Bungalow mit viel Platz, grosses Bett, gemütliches Wohnzimmer. Jaccuzzi und Schwimmbecken, genügend Liegestühle.
Fehlende Einführung in Heizung, froren die 1. Nacht. Nach Einführung durch Alex, tip-top.

The fact that the property and booking.com misrepresented this place as a 4star. Hard pressed to be a 2star.

Comfortable bungalow with a fenced patio, small yard for dogs and an orange tree! Room nice and clean, bed very comfortable. Nice location across from foot trail and walking area for dogs. Pool accessible 24hrs a day, did not use the pool but it looked nice. Manager was very friendly & informative. Bathtub and nice shower head, although water doesn't get as hot as we like.
Description said saltwater pool, upon arrival was told it is chlorinated :-( Stove is very old and oven would never heat up enough. Charge A LOT for pet fee even though dogs aren't allowed on most of the property. Check in process is strange, you arrive & have to send a text and then given code to enter to finish check in, which would be fine but took awhile to get an answer upon arrival.

Courtyard grounds/pool were very charming. Bed/mattress was comfortable
Bathroom shower stall was disgusting. I wanted to wear flip flops to stand in it. I called the hotel at least 10 times and the phone was never answered. The VM box was full, and you could not leave a message. I checked out and after one day of my 3-day booking and went to a clean hotel. I tried to communicate with the hotel, and they never responded. Clearly, they did not care about customer satisfaction. Contrary to the description, they are NOT pet friendly. Your dogs are not allowed anywhere on property except your room and concrete patio. I have never checked out and left a hotel due to disappointment/issues. I would never stay here again.

I loved how comfortable the rooms are and how there is a kitchen in each bungalow so us prepping cocktails and small snacks before heading out was great.
The only thing I didn’t like was that our room wasn’t ready at check-in, but it didn’t take long to get us to our room.

Liebevoll eingerichtet, engagierte Betreiber. Sehr hilfsbereit.
Bad und Küche etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber.
Die drei Raumduftstecker musste ich allerdings sofort ziehen. Das war mir zu penetrant…

We totally enjoyed our stay. Alex, the manager was so friendly and knowledgeable about the place. It was exactly what we were looking for - somewhere nice and quiet.
A intake fan in the bathroom.

BEWARE, NOTHING THEY ADVERTISE IS TRUE! PAID $300 TO BE THROWN OUT WITH NO REFUND AT 2AM FOR NO REASON!!!!
UPDATE: SHORTLY AFTER POSTING THIS REVIEW, THE OWNER AND OTHER STAFF MEMBER CAME TO MY ROOM AND TOLD ME I HAD 2 MINUTES TO GET OFF THE PROPERTY BEFORE THEY CALLED THE POLICE FOR VIOLATING GUEST RULES!!!! I WAS THE ONLY GUEST!!!!!!! AND THEY HAD ALREADY CALLED POLICE AND TOLD THEM I WAS TRESPASSING! I AM 20 WEEKS PREGNANT AND WAS ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING AT A HOTEL I JUST PAID $125 PLUS $200 DEPOSIT. DO NOT BE FOOLED!
When I called ahead of time and asked what the incidental deposit was I was told $50. Upon arrival I was told it would be $200.
They advertise as pet friendly but they don't specify that cats aren't allowed anywhere. So when I arrived with my cat I had to have my husband drive the cat home. Mind you, I live roughly an hour away. So my husband won't be returning.
In order to have any visitors you must pay $30 per visitor $34 with tax and you must do it upon check-in and that was not in any of the fine print either. What's upsetting about that is I asked if I could register another guest in the morning because my friend literally flies back to Northern California tomorrow afternoon so he wanted to come over for breakfast, and I was told no. Needless to say I will not be returning. A big nice room isn't fun when you have to spend it alone.

Great property, vibe straight from golden Palm Springs 60s, great place to have fun with friends, views stunning
No covered garage, car will turn into a oven in no time, kitchen very outdated (however it supports the 60s character of the place)

Nice pool. Quite.
Pet policy is really just dogs.
No cats.
