Very comfortable with an excellent room. The chateau grounds were lovely as were the owners who were very accommodating regarding my car.
Lack of information and facilities. There was no information on places to do in the area. There was no information regarding the history of the Chateau and it’s grounds. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. WiFi was not available in the area we were staying in.

Fantastic location in a highly historic and interesting setting. Fabulous hosts who look out for you every step of the way. Great breakfast available with a supplement but filled us up for half the day.

Accommodations were like stepping back in time! Truly charming, yet comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful! Our family really enjoys breakfast and this one was wonderful and beautifully presented with the best expresso I’ve had in France! Our host was so lovely to chat with and invited us to explore the grounds which were just as beautiful as the Chateau! We could not have been more pleased with our visit. Thank you.

Very unique experience. We stayed in the 13th century keep rather than the 17th century chateau. It was very cozy and well appointed. Our host's were very welcoming and we could tour the entire estate. Highly recommend.

It is just so beautiful, such a big and well done job the restoration, fairy tale castle, unique experience, very authentic restoration, every detail inside and outside, even much more beautifull than in the photos, furniture, everything, so kind and interesting owners!

It was fun to stay in an authentic chateau as we started our week visiting the famous chateaux of the Loire. Hosts were very friendly and gave us a tour of the main chateau . We were in the original Donjon building, not the pictured castle, which I hadn’t understood. Breakfast was nice but was an additional €15 each.
WiFi did not reach our room because of the thick stone walls.

The choice of staying in the chateau or the le Donjon....dungeon! Moat as well. Amazing history and very comfortable room. Hosts lovely and very welcoming to there home!
Restaurants nearby all closed. So back in the car. However good restaurant at Pathenay. Worth a visit. Meal excellent.

Loved the room and the decor - just like a story book! The canopy beds were comfortable, good sized room for my family. The host was lovely, breakfast was continental and very good and we had what we needed. the gardens were very cool to walk through. it was a great experience. Loved the peddle boats too - it was a great activity!
From the website I thought we would be staying in the actual castle but when we arrived we realized we would be staying in the building next to the castle (not sure what it's called)....Not a big deal at all because our stay was amazing. Perhaps make it a little more clear on the website where the rooms are situated.

It was like being in a fairytale. Stunning and beautiful. Truly Amazing place to stay, we wish we could have stayed longer to see all that this property has. The town has a pub, supermarket and a good pizza restaurant all on its doorstep. I would recommend this place as a MUST place to stay.

We were in the main château. We loved the building and associated history. The rooms were magnificent, especially our four poster bed - which had a modern and very comfortable mattress. No duvets here but sheets and blankets - which were perfect. The orangery and formal garden were super and there were ripe oranges and lemons on the trees. The hosts were charming and ensured a trouble free visit.
Not much but the wiring was interesting and charging modern phones etc a challenge - but not difficult. Don’t expect modern showers and baths but the facilities were fine and added to the experience.

Very nice stay. As expected the chateau was beautiful, our room luxurious and the grounds very nice. We went during the heatwave when it was 41°C at the chateau which obviously and rightly doesn’t have AC but I was very happy to find the stone kept the heat out so our room was much much cooler than the outside and our host had kept the shutters closed to keep the heat out which was very much appreciated. Overall would recommend if looking to do a night in a classic French chateau! Would make a wonderful wedding venue too, my partner and I were very charmed and though we would love to hold a wedding reception there.
Breakfast was very nice although not included in price and was a little expensive although it was of good standard and was offered to us at anytime we wanted. However, it is totally understandable that with the cost of keeping up a castle, the grounds, staff etc that prices have to be a little bit pricey (full European breakfast (bread, cereal, cheese, viennoiserie, coffee, fruit, juice)) cost 15€ per head so not excessive but just good to be aware of the little added cost. Although we didn’t regret it and enjoyed it and would recommend if you can fit it in budget.

The history and beauty if the building. Our room was amazing and huge! it felt like a small apartment rather than a hotel room. The bathroom was baronial !

Host was great and gracious as we arrived a bit later than expected due to traffic as we left Paris and rain at night. We loved the time the owner spent with us the next day showing us her property and history of the Chateau and surroundings. We had a great experience and glad we stayed here for one night on our way to Bourdeaux.
All good
