We had a wonderful visit to Howe Island. The hosts were friendly and responsive. They were very generous with their time and ensured that everyone had an enjoyable stay. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, swimming, nightly fires, peaceful sunsets, and sightseeing off of the island.
Definitely a great place to spend your vacation!!

We had a wonderful time! Courtney & Chris were great to deal with! I texted her when we were on the ferry & she was waiting to meet us at our cottage. They were very welcoming & even invited us to join them for wood fired pizza which was absolutely delicious!!
The place was very clean and cozy. It had the perfect amount of everything we might possibly have needed. It was central to the the excursions we wanted to experience - the 5 hour cruise & Boldt castle tour and Kingston Penitentiary tour - both were fabulous & highly recommended.
Thank you Courtney & Chris! We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more!

We had a great stay here to watch the eclipse. The property is peaceful, the hosts are great, and the stars are beautiful at night. 10/10 would stay again.

We were greeted by their two lovely boys with the Cabin owner right behind them, while she was in middle of baking their family dinner pizza... we know we were at the right place for a pleasant and peaceful vacation. House is well maintained and the drive from main road to the property is to cherish far. We wish we had a longer stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. Communication was difficult at first until we got Courtney’s cell instead of her husband’s. All the amenities were there except for washer & dryer and ironing board & iron which would be great for longer stay. On hot day’s in bedrooms standing oscillating fans would be helpful.
Also garbage and recycling instructions would be helpful also.
Courtney and Chris great couple. Very quiet secluded location. Enjoyed our stay.

We were pleased with the boat ramp and dock with ample room for our boat trailer. This allowed us to easily access the St. Lawrence on our own boat, something that had been on our bucket list.
Two couples stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom red house and we had lots of room
We took our own Starlink for internet. We had no issues with it being off grid - there was plenty of power for all of our needs. Nights were cool enough we didn’t miss A/C
Place was very clean inside.
Dock space was awesome with heavenly waterfront views and sunsets.
We will be back in the future

Quaint little property filled with wonder and awe. We loved our stay in our well appointed to cottage waking up to the birds. Everything we needed to enjoy our week stay was available to us. The quick ferry ride was so convenient to access the various nearby activities recommended by the hosts. Quiet evenings were enjoyed watching the sunset by the water while nature entertained. Campfires are a must, smores, fireflies, stars and silence. The hosts were amazing, entertaining, reliable, accessible and felt like family.

We were boating in the thousand islands and looked for a 2-day stay by the water. This wonderful spot with docking space was perfect. Every little detail was attended to and the little cabin, set back from the water, but with wonderful views and sunset was perfectly appointed, nothing was missing. It isn't very often that you find a 2-bedroom with 2 bathrooms. Our hosts Courtney and Chris were very welcoming and invited us to a home made outdoor pizza making event. We made use of the new BBQ, the lower level veranda and the upper level deck. A relaxing stay by the water! Thank you! Andrée and Peter

We had a lovely and relaxing stay. We had booked the cottage at the back of the property which had stairs to the bedrooms. When we arrived and Courtney realized that my husband used a cane, she immediately offered for us to move to the cottage nearer the lake which had no stairs. The hosts and their children were very pleasant and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was well appointed with everything you need. It was exceptionally clean. Beautiful views of the river and very peaceful. The wifi can be spotty as mentioned in their listing but we managed fine. Hope to go back another time.

Excellent hosts. The property is as described you are staying in off the grid compound. Just enough wifi to check in at home. Plenty of water to drink provided. This was a fantastic safe place and community to chill. Some beautiful kittens were born a few weeks ago and my daughter enjoyed being able to play with the kittens and mother. It was the bonus my tween needed.

We were looking for a cottage get away to decompress and relax. This was the perfect place. The cottage was quaint, clean and cozy with views for the lake from both our ground floor porch and the upper balcony. Chris and Courtney and their kids were very welcoming and friendly hosts. Really enjoyed the already build fire pits with firewood! Highly recommend staying here.

This was a lovely escape on Howe Island. The cottage had everything we needed to relax. The sunsets were beautiful on the lake, even when it was rainy one day. We took full advantage of the BBQ and enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the second level deck. Even though set back from the lake (as the listing says) you're able to see the lake nicely from there and it was a great way to wake up. The property runs on solar, so when it was overcast power went out, but Counrtney was very quick to respond and make sure the generator was working well. Also, the boat ride Courtney and Chris offered was such a wonderful way to experience the area for the first time. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We went to Retreat on Howe Island to celebrate Canada Day 2017 on the St Lawrence River. We loved the peace and quiet and getting away from it all. Our hosts and their pets were friendly and we enjoyed using the bbq and the campfire pit that were included. That year there was terrible flooding but the cabin we rented was not affected. It is a short ferry ride to Ganonoque where we took a boat tour.
If you go, ask if the set up is single or double beds and maybe bring hames, fishing gear and bug spray.
