Riviera Golf de Barbossi is a luxury private gated residential development totally unlike any other on this coast line. Estate agents say it is one of the best on the Riviera. Situated south of the A8 motorway, and below the hill of the Grand Duc, It is nearer the sea than the latters large development. A far cry from the rather crowded , cramped ,tourist developments of the coast road or riverside..The development has good security and in July and August has pool guards.
There is easy access to the A8 motorway thus avoiding the traffic of the coast road in high season- a real plus point.
Mandelieu La Napoule has grown from a small fishing village into a compact town with one main shopping street- the Ave de Frejus. It is one of the most attractive parts of the coast and suits all who wish to avoid mass tourism yet be close enough to visit all the main tourist attractions. in the region. The development is in the Minelle district of town which is classed as the best residential part.
Futher excellent out of town shopping can be found near the tiny private airport and at Les Tourades about 5 mins away direction Cannes La Bocca . Glitzy big sister Cannes adjoins Mandelieu La Napoule and is a short drive of 10 to15mins.
Most quality residential property is to the North side of the Avenue de Frejus, this is where our property is situated. There are 2 large supermarkets; banks, a few small bistros and market place. The market is one of the most attractive in the area and on Wednesday has food and non- foods.
The port and commercial area are to the south of the Route de Frejus with the main railway line running behind the tourist blocks and then hugging the coastal road for most of the Riviera right through to italy. All beaches are free where as Cannes itself only has one small free beach. Nice City beach is pebbles, however it is well worth a visit to the Flower or antiques market :;theatre and galleries.
The area near La Napoule castle retains an old fashioned ,charm with little bistros set under plane trees and a Michelin star restaurant 'the Oasis'. A wonderful sheltered bay hides to the west of the castle which is very safe for swimming. Climb the coastal path to the hidden bay of La Rague or take your car. This is our favouite beach which is just beyond the marina. There are several good restaurants here. There are many beautiful small bays below the red rock cliffs for example Theoule which is minutes away.

Art lovers are spoilt for choice of gallery with many famous impressionist painters having lived locally-Picasso;Renoir ;Matisse to name a few. This is the capital of the Mimosa so Spring is both beautiful and warm- a good time to visit all the the flower festivals.
Golf de Barbossi and apartments were built on the former practice polo fields of the Grand Duke Michel of Russia and is in a rare protected green belt.. The buildings are generously spaced out with landscaping and a backdrop of woodland and hills. It is hard to believe it is so near the coast. (approx 3 k) There are 3 swimming pools in the grounds for guests to use,but we feel the best is near this apartment.. Ample numbers of sun loungers surround each pool, There are small tables and umbrella stands also shower and w.c
The region is golfers heaven with approximately 20 courses within an hours drive. Mandelieu la Napoule has two. Barbossi designed in 1991 by Trent Jones- hilly with lakes and The Old Course which is flat with umbrella pines on the coast and the rivier Siagne. The latter even envolves crossing the river in a boat. Both club houses offer a bar.It is not necessary to be a member to use all the facilities. The old course club house offers an especially good buffet lunch. A new luxury hotel is proposed near the Barbossi club house which may provide further dining facilities. A pass can be bought to play both courses. Check with the local tourist office near the market.
Ski resorts of Auron and Valberg can be reached within 1.h 30m also Greolieres les Neige for the less experienced.
The temperature at Mandelieu on the development is much higher than at Nice (weather station) This is due to the circle of hills giving shelter. Spring and Autumn temperatures can be suprisingly high with the possibility of sitting outside in December and early Spring. Autumn and Spring are perfect times for taking walks along the Rivier Siagne down to the coast..

Having just finished our holiday I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
The accommodation was well kept, easy to find, secure and included everything we required as a base for us to start exploring the coast line over 10 days.
For a family of 4 from the local village with multiple restaurants and shops to the many beaches dotted along the coast to St Tropez we have struggled to fit everything we wanted to do in.
Top things to see for us were a day at Port Grimaud where you, and more importantly the kids, can drive small boats around what’s known as the Venice of the Riviera, swim at La Trayas where little coves hide beautiful beaches with clear waters and the beach at Théoule-Sur-Mer. Alternatively a day at the local pool was also perfect for a lazy day.
All in all a top holiday for us and will be recommending to others as well as returning in the years to come.

Wonderful location, tranquil scenario
We are regular visitors to the South of France at varying resorts but have to say that our week at Maryland 2 provided the most tranquil and relaxing scenario of them all. We won't repeat all the comments provided by previous reviewers, it is however safe to say that they are all true, a wonderful location.
Unlike the other visitors we didn't hire a car, we preferred to walk for the shopping and use the bus for trips to the beach etc. Quite hilly in places, so distance walking won't be appropriate for everyone. We did eat a couple of times at the golf club, helpful staff and wonderful views. The swimming pool is ideal with plenty of sun loungers available.
Prior to the holiday visit we exchanged several e-mails with the owner who provided all the information we required. We were most appreciative, so handy to be able to converse directly with the person who knows it all. For those of us preferring to book private apartments around the world this should be a facility available to us all.

Lovely Apartment - Superb Views
Apartment is excellent and so are views- I will write a bit about the Golf as I don't think it is mentioned enough.
We are a family of 4 and were looking to play a couple of rounds on holiday.
The Barbossi course is superb and the staff welcoming and friendly.
We bought a card of 6 rounds x 9holes for me and 12rounds of 9 for my son (15)
After 3 pm you can play as much as you want for no extra.
The cost for us both was just over £400 which Isn`t at all bad for what you get.
The club house was a 14 second drive from the main gates and my wife and daughter would often be having a drink on the club house veranda when we finished.
Everyone really enjoyed the holiday so much so we have already rebooked for 2016.
As 4 holes are visible from the apartment they always knew where we were and didn't feel we had disappeared for too long.

Excellent!
If you want to go to the Cote D'Azur without all the mess you will find at Cannes or Monaco, Mandelieu-La Napoule really is a very good choice.
The town is lovely (you will fall in love with this place) and also the surroundings.
The apartment is beautiful: clean, nicely furnished, very comfortable, and itself has everything you could need (well stocked with towels, blankets, kitchen/bathroom supplies, etc). Blazing fast internet too!
It also has a lovely views of the Golf Course and, in the evening, of an extraordinary sunset. It is near the great pool and, if you play golf, not far from the first tee.
The owners were very kind and responsive to any requests we had. They provided a detailed account of the neighborhood and the location of all the amnenities a visitor might need. Thank you very much! We enjoyed every minute!

A lovely apartment in a beautiful situation.
The apartment is an ideal holiday retreat. Its situation is a delight, in a secure location, with a stunning outlook from the living room balcony towards the Tanneron to the north and the Esterel hills to the west – ideal walking country on your doorstep. Two good-sized bedrooms share a lovely balcony with a pleasant view towards the adjoining golf course. A balcony on both sides of the flat provides sunshine throughout the day. Furniture is tasteful and comfortable and the kitchen is very well-equipped. A car is essential and can be securely parked underground. Shops and other facilities are five minutes distant in nearby Mandelieu with hypermarket, baker, butcher and chemist. The delightful village of La Napoule is a journey of 10 minutes, with more shops, quality restaurants and lovely coastal walks. We rate this apartment very highly and hope very much to return.

Wonderful apartment with breathtaking views
This was our first stay in the south of France and we had a wonderful week exploring. The apartment has two terraces, one with the sun in the morning and the other for the evening. The views from the evening terrace are wonderful, watching the sun go down over the mountains. The apartment itself is spacious and clean, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. There is plenty of storage and the air con in the bedrooms was also appreciated. We also enjoyed having the internet and English TV on the day it rained. The supermarket is just 5 minutes drive away and there are three pools onsite to choose from. Highly recommended.

A bright and well located apartment
We have stayed at the Barbossi complex for the last 4 years and choise Sylvia's apartment as our daughter is growing - it offered 2 bedrooms. From the moment we saw the location my wife and I were very pleased. The apartment is bright, light, spacious and well maintained. Both balconies offer morning and evening sun - the latter giving a wonderful sunset view across the golf course. All of the appliances are modern and work well, including the now updated Sky TV - which was crucial for catching up with the WC games! We enjoyed the use of the pool - which is great for little ones after spending the mornings at the beach in Cannes. The pre- holiday information that Sylvia provided was most valuable and any queries that we had were always dealt with promptly. Overall we had a fantastic break and shall be returning next year!

A great week in a lovely place
The apartment is spacious and well maintained and has wonderful views over the golf course towards the Alpes Maritimes. There is a swimming pool in the grounds and the restaurants and shops of Mandelieu and La Napoule are nearby and to be recommended, particularly Le Jardin de Jade - where the Asian food is delicious. A visit to Vence and St.Paul de Vence is definitely worthwhile, where the Fondation Maeght houses a unique collection of modern art, including works by Giacometti, Chagall and Miro. The only problem in the area is the traffic, which applies to the whole of the Cote d'Azur, but once within the grounds of the Riviera golf de Barossi it is possible to forget about the number of cars and relax in the sun..

Beautiful views, great base for touring
The views from the balconies on both sides of the apartment are wonderful. Having dinner outside looking out over the countryside with a glass of wine - a delight. Pool next to the building is superb, again with views. Well furnished with everything you could require for your visit. We took the train to Italy, drove the Grand Prix circuit in Monaco and toured the towns and villages in the hills. Plenty of good places to eat locally. Looking forward to another visit. Helpful owners will give you all the information and advice you need. A superb base for a wonderful holiday.

Lovely apartment in a great location
The apartment is well fitted out. It has 2 balconies for morning and evening sun. The views are very nice. It is very near the pool. The beach is perhaps a 5 minute drive away and Cannes Centre just 10 minutes away. It is centrally located for trips to Monaco in one direction and St. Tropez in the other. The resort is quiet in May / June when we were there and more suited to adults than families with teenagers looking for on-site entertainment. Overall it was very enjoyable.

April in Mandelieu
This is truely an excellent holiday location with wonderful accomodation. We arrived to bright sunshine beaming into the front balcony - what views. Bliss and so peaceful. In the hot afternoons you were not forced in doors, you had the benefit of the second balcony facing the lovely club house.
The location is perfect for exploring the region. From Monte Carlo to Cannes you are not restricted. The local facilities are only just down the road with good shops for groceries and a very good market on the Wednesday morning. While many people head for the major towns of Nice and Cannes, all I would add is that we left it too late to explore our own location - Mandelieu. For anyone else following along, I would recommend that you start in Mandelieu, it is beautiful with so much to see and explore. We spent our extended days (that ash cloud thing) at the little coves and walking along the sea front. When we visit again I suspect that we will look no further afield.
The apartment is all you could ask for with great views and a very helpful manager below (she also speaks very good English). Most of all we were so very grateful to Sylvia for al the help and support that she offered to the family while we were stranded in France. I have in al my years only come across a few such people.
I know that this will be a regular holiday location for my familiy in the furure. It has everything that you could ask for and more.

Delightful Holiday Apartment
Delightful clean and modern holiday apartment set in secure, tranquil and well kept, small gated community.
The flat itself is spacious and well equipped with two fabulous balconies front and rear both with beautiful views.
A favourite of ours was to sit and watch the magnificent sensets from the front balcony sipping our pre dinner drinks.
The infinity pool and lounging area are close by (no noise from the pool can be heard from the flat). and copious well kept sun-beds adorn the large lounging area.
Go down to Mandelieu and walk along the coast where you will come across fantastic coves with beaches where you can eat, drink, swim and sunbathe.
Local Market and Supermarket recommended
There are numerous interesting and picturesque places to vist within easy travelling distance (See visitors information provided in flat) (Nice, Cannes etc)
All-in-all a most enjoyable holiday - ticked all the boxes -
will certainly be visiting again

Exclusive feel to this fabulous complex
We visited this apartment at the beginning of October and the weather was great. The pool area is fabulous, and on the doorstep of the apartment complex. Although shared by others within the building, we had the pool to ourselves for the whole week ! It is a fab pool and much bigger than it looks in the photos. Views from the pool and apartment outstanding. This is a great place to go if you want peace and quiet but also provides a central base if you want to explore the riviera by car.

Riviera Golf de Barbossi
We spent a week in May in this wonderful appartment which was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. It was perfect for coming back to after a day out or simply relaxing in. The two balconies afforded ample opportunity for just that and also allowed a through draught on the hotter days to help maintain a pleasant temperature. The appartment is on a safe, secure site with fabulous pool and is ideally located for exploring the area. We enjoyed trips to Monaco and Nice
and the local markets and free beaches were within easy reach. We have no hesitation in recommending this great appartment.

magnifique!
I have stayed in this apartment frequently.A truly a luxurious residential community, uncrowded like many holiday developments in the area where all you can hear in the evening is the clatter of knives and forks and noisy children .Should this apartment ever come up for sale I will be first in the queue to buy. Rarely does a apartment tick all the boxes, this does all but 1 ( bread shop-- by the time you have walked back up the hill to the apartment the delicious bread is half eaten.) The position is perfect, being neither in the cramped marina or too far into the hills.Shopping is excellent in Mandelieu with an Wed. market. There are free beaches and sandy coves with excellent swimming and of course the superb swimming pool with loungers.Travel anywhere in the Alps Maritime for 1E if you have plenty of time or use the train for a coastal ride from La Napoule. For those who like a stroll after dinner there is nothing nicer than the River Siagne.

Excellent apartment
We have now enjoyed several lovely summer holidays in this delightful apartment. Bookings and information are provided in a friendly and efficiently manner by the owner. The apartment is a real 'home from home', clean, tastefully furnished, very well equipped and quiet. The view over the golf course to the hills is uplifting. The two balconies are a real asset.
The community in which the apartment is situated is excellently maintained and secure with lovely, well-tended grounds. The pool is close and most pleasant.
During our holidays here, we have found it an excellent base for visits to Lac St Cassien, Mougins, Iles de Lerins, Monaco, Eze, Grasse, Gorge du Verdon, and Italy as well as Valberg (1.5 hours) -an alpine village which is a good start point for walks and many summer sports as well as winter skiing. There are many opportunities for activities, and sports within easy reach. A variety of restaurants, shops and supermarkets are a short drive away. There are lovely Provençal evening markets in La Napoule during the summer as well as frequent firework displays.

A peaceful break!
A wonderfully located apartment with excellent facilities. It is immaculately clean and very well maintained.
Watching the light and sky change every minute while sitting on the larger of the two balconies was a delight. I would thoroughly recommend it for a peaceful holiday.

perfect relaxation
We had a wonderful holiday, alternating days of sightseeing with days of quiet relaxation. The area has so much to offer- beautiful scenery, glorious beaches, interesting towns, quaint villages, great markets. The apartment was a delight- spotless, tastefully furnished, everything there to make for comfort and convenience, beautiful views over the golf course. The well equipped kitchen made self catering a pleasure, but we also took found lots of good value eateries in the area- all budgets are catered for.We loved sitting out on the balcony with a glass or three of red and some delicious cheese. I would strongly recommend this property .It certainly fulfilled our every requirement and we are looking forward to staying there again . For those who are sun and pool worshippers or golf fanatics this is heaven . We were delighted with our stay here and really appreciated the excellent facilities.Strongly recommend visits to Mougins, Nice, St, Paul de Vence, as well as to the local market in Mandelieu
