About this house rental
This holiday house is a log cabin which has recently been renovated. Situated on an acre of land on Right Arm Road in Taylor Bay, there are magnificent views of the countryside and a partial view of the lake. Lake access is only 800 metres away, further down Right Arm Road, and you can launch and moor your boat there, or you may choose to launch at the public concrete boat ramps at Eildon, Jerusalem Creek or Fraser National Park.
Access to the block is excellent for boats up to 22 feet and there is room to park your boat. Access for larger boats will depend on vehicle and trailer configuration. Please feel free to discuss with us.
If towing a boat we recommend a 4WD or AWD. If you are not towing a 2WD is fine.
Outside you can relax on the front deck, lounge in the hammocks and deck chairs, take in the views and enjoy the wildlife including parrots, rosellas and cockatoos. We supply bird seed and the birds will happily feed from your hand. We have a BBQ and a large outdoor setting. There is a back verandah with plenty of room for your fishing or water ski gear.
Pets are welcome outside however the property is not fenced.
The house comprises two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed with a full size robe and direct access to the deck. The second bedroom has two bunk beds fitted with new mattresses sleeping five (1 double & 3 singles). All beds are fitted with electric blankets, mattress protectors, doonas and pillows. Please supply your own linen and bath towels.
All windows are fitted with block out roller blinds and the walls are decorated with prints of local attractions.
The kitchen is fully appointed with a dishwasher, fridge, oven, electric cook top and microwave together with a toaster, kettle, wok and sandwich press. The pantry is stocked with tea and coffee supplies together with basic food items which you are welcome to use.
The lounge room is large and comfortably seats all guests on two couches and an arm chair. It has full length windows to capture the views of the countryside. There is a large collection of board games for you to use. We have satellite TV and we offer free Wi Fi. There is a reverse cycle air conditioner for instant heating in Winter and cooling in Summer. The house has an open fire which is available to those guests who are experienced with setting a fire but you will need to supply your own wood.
The bathroom has been fully renovated and contains a walk in shower and brand new facilities.
Eildon township is 10 minutes away and Fraser National Park is about a 15 minute drive. Activities in the area include the obvious fishing and water skiing but also four wheel driving, motor bike riding, bush walking, cycling and sightseeing.
Early check in and late check out are often possible and will be confirmed a few days prior to your stay.

Staying at the Relax-In cozy cottage was an absolute delight! Nestled in a picturesque landscape and Eilden Lake, it was the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle. The warm, inviting interior featured a crackling fireplace and comfortable furnishings, making evenings incredibly relaxing. 90km away from Mansfield town, the mist-covered surroundings added a magical touch, and mornings were a joy with stunning views of the winter wonderland right outside the patio with welcoming colourful parrots ready to eat off your hands. The hosts were supportive and thoughtful, ensuring every detail was attended to. It was a serene escape that left us feeling rejuvenated and grateful for such a charming winter getaway to Mt. Buller. It is highly recommended for a peaceful retreat!

It’s was an amazing place even in winter. Paula and Rex were so helpful. Our stay came to an amazing end with the parakeets feeding bird feed from our hands.

This is our second time staying in this property, and we are planning to come back soon… it’s just the perfect setting to disconnect from the busy rutine, relax and enjoy real, meaningful family time. The house is comfortable, cozy and sorrounded by beautiful nature, we actually enjoy staying in more than anything else. The area in general is beautiful and nice for bike riding with young kids!

The cabin was well appointed, roomy and comfortable. However the outside left a lot to be desired, overgrown weeds, overflowing gutters onto deck area and generally unkept. It was relief to walk inside and see it didnt mirror the outside.

Great short stay at this wonderful property. So many walks to do is the surrounding areas of the lake. Welcoming log cabin in bushland setting. Local wildlife were a bonus! Thank you to the host.

It was one of our most enjoyable vacations that our family has been on. The kids really enjoyed feeding the birds, the views were beautiful and the location was amazing. The house was relaxing, comfortable and clean. We really didnt want to leave so we will be going back again without hesitation. . Overall our stay was a 10/10

The place was cosy and warm on a very cold and wet weekend. My kids loved the electric blankets on each bed. It was just the right size for the four of us and we had everything we needed.
As a games loving family we used the games cupboard and a couple of fierce Mastermind battles took place.
The DVD collection meant we sat together to watch some favourites... once we agreed on what to watch.
The beautiful surrounds and wildlife were all a part of our weekend. This included a visit by the rosellas and cockatoos in the morning.
It was the perfect distance away from Eildon for the Bayside Skoda cycling Road Race - the reason we were there in the first place.
Thank you!

The place is comfortable and well laid out with a newly renovated bathroom. Close the the lake and less than 10 minutes drive to the Eildon shops.

Spent the weekend here with my partner, plenty to do at the nighttime, loads of board games.
Lots of space for your dogs to run around, had a great weekend, would recommend

Over all nice property, not suitable if you have a big boat as tight corners. Mattresses need replacing.

Property was as described in the listing and host was easy to contact and very friendly. Had everything I needed in the accommodation. My only issue was the driveway - it was raining during my stay and driveway was more suited to a 4wd when wet. Had new tyres on my small car but was quite slippery driving up it. Lovely quiet area but no mobile phone service. Wouldn't be an issue normally but I was travelling with just my dog so felt a bit uneasy.

Thank you for sharing your lovely holiday home. My family loved the stay and exploring the beautiful surrounds. My 8yo was over the moon to have a king parrot feeding from her hand. It was the highlight of her trip! Thanks again, we look forward to coming back soon :)

weekend away stay
House is ok for a weekend away.
Driveway is not really suitable for a normal low car to drive up as it was quite rutted and slippery.
Bathroom floor tiles need some grout but otherwise it was warm and comfy with a nice outlook

Family Long Weekend
What a lovely shower experience. Great pressure, steaming hot water.
Spectacular scenery and our kids got to see the snow for the first time. Feeding the birds with the seeds in the cupboard and hearing kookaburras.
Great waterfalls nearby, scenic drive was a sweet adventure:)
Kids love their electric blankets.
All in all weve had a great long weekend.

Lovely stay!
Beautiful property at a great location. It was very clean and tidy. Only issue was the lack of reception and internet, made it a bit difficult to navigate our way around the area.

Great little cabin
Great little cabin at Taylor Bay easy to get to Lake Eildon and surrounds. Good clear instructions for check in and check out. In my opinion the fireplace needs to go or be filled in with a gas fireplace. We had an experienced friend light the perfect fire but the room still fills with fire no matter what. Hence why the place smells so strongly of smoke when you arrive. I actually brought an air purifier because I read the reviews and I still couldn't clear the air. Fireplace aside it's a great little cabin for its price. BBQ is relatively new. Kitchen has everything you need. TV is clear. Not somewhere I'd stay for a romantic getaway but for a few nights with friends we had a blast. Perhaps bring a air mattress for the spare room if you are a 2nd couple as the bunks are kids bunks very small.

Nice peaceful spot
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Relax Inn Taylor Bay. The house was well set up with plenty of games & dvds for wet weather but we also got to enjoy the deck chairs on the verandah when the sun came out. Both settling in & checking out was easy with good lear instructions provided. The location is handy enough to Eildon to go out & about. We also really appreciated being able to take our dog with us.

Wonderful stay
Try to look past any negative comments for this property. My family absolutely LOVED it. It was clean, well kept, quaint and so very peaceful. The birds were gorgeous and my kids really enjoyed feeding them in the mornings. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it every night of our stay. We had a day trip with 3 girls to Mt Buller which was brilliant(returning to the lovely log cabin). The owners were very accommodating and we will be returning for sure!
