Nice rooms, calm and tranquil hostel with an excellent cat and the best breakfast I had travelling around Colombia for 3 months. I liked the location because it’s much quieter at that end of the main road but you can still walk to the beach and the big parties

Great wifi with battery backup for brownouts and a generator for power cuts. The breakfast was fantastic!
Dusty floor upstairs on the terrace. Great space though.

Good location, enjoyed having A/C in the rooms, the staff were friendly and breakfast was delicious

Room is clean and comfortable, breakfast was great, and friendly and helpful owner. He gave us good advice to make a stop at shopping mall Buena Vista to get cash before we traveled to Minca instead of traveling into Santa Marta and then back.

We had to check in for one night due to exposure to a rabid bat in our room in another hotel.
We were checking in late and booked late due to the above and the man behind the desk was extremely helpful and stayed up so we could check in.
The rooms are very clean, have AC and the WiFi is strong throughput.
The included breakfast was great with free access to water and coffee.

Joe was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the chill out areas/reception were really great. Great location also, around 10 minutes walk to beach and 5 minutes from the main road to get the bus. The air conditioning was great as it was very hot in Palomino and not many places seem to have air conditioning. Also the Internet always worked even when it was down in the rest of the town.
The window faced a wall so no natural light and the lighting was really stark, I think the room would benefit from a better bulb and a lampshade.

Great location at the main street, surounded by restaurants and cafes. A bit of a walk to the beach. Very friendly and helpfull owner and the breakfast was good.

I really liked the feel of the property and the breakfast was delicious. it was a lovely environment to unwind in after my 7 months of travel.
The owner of the hostel was quite grumpy and unapproachable, so I didn’t feel completely welcome during my stay there - despite having my room for 10 days. A friend of mine left her towel in my laundry bag so that I could get it washed for her. A cleaner removed the towel from my bag assuming I had taken it. My friend later returned to collect her towel and the owner was very difficult and rude, making an issue in returning her towel to her. I was quite disappointed to hear this considering I’d had a conversation with the host agreeing that she could collect it. My stay was lovely but I could have been made to feel a lot more welcome.

The room was small, but comfortable, with a small armoire and attached bathroom. The included breakfast was very nice, and the dining area was nice and green. Free coffee, tea and filtered water were available all the time. The host was very nice and also available at all times- and he speaks a million languages! The wifi was mainly consistent and strong enough for working. There is some noise from a bar nearby, but fortunately bars have to close down by 11 pm in Palomino, so noise was really not an issue. The property is a bit farther down the road from most of the bars also.
The small patio attached to the room was a bit like a concrete box, surrounded by 3 concrete walls. Haha. But some airflow into the room was nice, since it is quite hot in Palomino. The rooftop patio could be vastly improved if the host adds some plants! And perhaps some more comfortable seating for lounging around. The hammocks were nice though, and the homemade chairs are very beautiful.

The breakfast is very good and better than most places
No problem parking my rented motorbike safely inside
Room was fine - got what I paid for.

great place to chill and plan your trips to ciudad perdida/cabo de la vela/etc... the host (who seems to speak every language in the world) has tips for everything. quiet place during the week, weekends are more noisy in the whole town anyway. awesome rooftop with hammocks 👌🏻

Great location 6 minutes walk to beach and nearby good choice of restaurants.
Owner and staff are nice and try their best to make everyone's stay a good one.
Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable and breakfast is good too.

Staff is great and helpful, they managed our tubing trip on the river and gave us some nice tips for restaurants and bars. Breakfast was really nice - fresh and tasty. And they have new internet connection, maybe one of the best in Palomino.
Cold water in the shower, but its everywhere like this on the coast. And you can hear almost everything in the room, so when people are walking around and talking in the entrance hall, for light sleepers it can be a bit of problem. And you have no view from the window (you see only wall).

The hostal is central and closeby to everything. The owner is really nice and helpful and always up for a chat. I loved the fresh, meatless, not fried breakfast - best I had while travelling in Colombia. Good internet. I would stay there again!
It smelled in the bathroom, I guess from the tubes.

The staff, ecspecially the owner, were super friendly. The breakfast was great, nice and healthy. The location was great, Palomino is very small so its easy to access everything. The room was a good size and lots of daylight with a small private outside area. There is a communal space too with hammocks upstairs and the restaurant serves lunch.
The room was very hot and only a fan provided. The shower was cold but managable. The rooms are not sound proofed so could hear music throughout our stay in the night and morning. These didn't outweigh the pros for us though 😊 We really enjoyed our stay.

the room was clean, the breakfast was good. Jo is an amazing host. it is located just about 5 min walk from the beach. for the price, its an amazing place to stay. oh yes ! the ac works perfectly unlike many hotels.
the only downside was the internet during my stay. but Jo got starlink the next day i left palomino. hopefully that is sorted now.

everything - breakfast is amazing - location is great and Joe the host is incredibly helpful
it didn’t bother me - but if you like peace at night then this may not be the place for you - you can hear music from bars until maybe 2am

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Colibri! Joachim the owner couldn’t do enough for us from start to finish from sorting tubing last minute to transport to our next stop. Great value for money in a lovely spot!

We booked only one night, but at the end we enjoyed the hostel so much that we had to stay an additional 3 nights.
The staff is too polite and kind. Location is perfect.
Breakfast was the best so far and they are extremely fast (even for European standards)
They clean your room, make your bed and change your towels every day (I don't know many hostels who do that).
You can really feel that the owner cares about his satff and clients. He greets you every morning and brings you breakfast. If you require any help, he Is more than willing to help you.
I recommend this hostel 100%
Nothing. Great job!

We were getting up early to get the bus to Tayrona so they let us have breakfast early and gave us lots of good information on all the buses and stops in Santa Marta.
There was a power cut in Palomino on the first night and they ran the generator for most of the night which is better than a lot of the other places in town.
Free coffee and drinking water available all day.
Pancakes for breakfast 🤤
Be aware that Palomino does have power cuts so it's good to stay at a hotel that has generators for back up.
