Todo estuvo perfecto. Hasta con desayuno que para los tours de todo el día se agradecía. Habitaciones muy cómodas. Calefacción y agua caliente sin problema.
Todo estuvo muy bien

Nice hostel in good location, well-equipped kitchen and good breakfast
- Our stay at the hostel turned out more expensive than we anticipated as we paid in Argentina Pesos and the hostel charged us an exchange rate of 200 Pesos per USD which is in between the official exchange rate of 160 and the Blue dollar exchange rate. Would have been nice to have this information upfront as we planned less Cash for our stay.
- Really thin bed sheets

The guy at the reception is extremely friendly and he was super helpful in arranging things for us and provided good advices.
It looks like the hostel was very good some years ago but now it lost its charm. The building is very old and not well maintained. The walls of the private rooms upstairs are very thin and you can hear the people talking in the next room like they are in yours. When taking a shower the water completely stopped working (not only hot water, but literally no more water coming out) and the girl at the reception said she was aware of the problem but there was nothing she could do about it as it happens when multiple people are using the showers. I had to wait 30 min before being able to rinse the shampoo from my hair. Finally the kitchen is not really well equipped. You don’t have any oil to cook with and it misses other basic stuff.

the personnel was lovely! The owners of the hostel are so kind and they help you with everything, they are also very patient! One of them even brought me to get souvenirs for my parents in their car because I did not know where to go! They were so helpful and nice!
The wifi connection could be a bit better. In the room it was great but in the reception it did not always work.

Well maintained hostel that feels like home. Staff at the reception was super helpful. They gave me great advise on how to spend my 2 days and see the most important things while also saving a lot of money. Thank you very much :)
Lockers in rooms where you can put your things would be helpful.

Location
FRAUD WARNING BLA! HOSTEL EL CALAFATE
I want to warn everbody who is heading to El Calafate for the Bla! Hostel/Guesthouse. Do not book it. They advertise whith prices at booking but once you pay at the hostel they charge you 30 percent more than the agreed priced on booking. When I found out, they came up with false excuses. The rate they use is just not right, they use an unofficial and illegal rate. If you read the reviews you will see that this is their modus operandi. They are ripping of their (mostly European) clients and therefore they are frauds. Besides ripping off their clients this is unfair competition for the other hostels and hotels in El Calafate who use the proper and official rate.
I want to strongly advise everybody who goes to El Calafate to not go to the Bla! Hostel/Guesthouse/Lodge. Once you are there you will pay a very high price for a very poor quality hostel. By far the worst hostel I’ve ever been to. Very small rooms. Dirty. A heater that can’t be turned of. Very rude staff and most of all a horrible owner. Do not go here.

very close to city center, everything in walking distance
friendly staff, if you want they help you to book different tours to the glaciers
breakfast includes eggs, juice, tea, coffee, milk, fruit salad, hot chocolate, cream cheese, jam and bread - all very good
we booked a room with a private bathroom, but unfortuantely the shower didn‘t work in our room so we had to use the shared bathroom and that‘s not what we have paid for
we just got one time eggs for breakfast, the other days they told us that they have to buy eggs

great location just minutes off the main restaurant & shopping road. Also walkable from the bus terminal (ca20 min). Good breakfast and generally friendly staff. Cute and clean kitchen, which can be used by guests.
Beds were quite uncomfortable but ok for the two nights we stayed.
If you pay your stay cash in pesos, please make sure to double check the exchange rate first, as unlike other places we stayed, they are NOT using the official exchange rate for cash payment but they set one themselves, which makes the room a bit more expensive. They make you aware of this in a message, which however is in spanish only- so I missed this info and overpayed vs credit card payment (which they do recommend) :-(

We really liked paying 205ARS to the dollar rather than the official rate of ~150ARS.... LOL beware of this, they don't tell you until check-in!!
Extremely unwilling to compromise regarding tour changes - were made to pay full price 18000ARS for the tour we couldn't go on!!!

The location is good, very close to the city center! Some of the staff were really great and helped us plan ahead
The value/price ratio isn't very good. The place is very minimal and if that's what you need it might be a good fit.

The location was walking distance to the village center and a supermarket.
We booked this accommodation through booking.com where it showed the price would be around $70 dollars for 2 nights. When we got to the accommodation they gave us a price that was nearly double what was shown in booking.com apparently this is due the “blue dollar rate” where 1 dollar equals double the amount in Argentinian dollars. Instead of using a normal rate, they ask for double the rate (being the blue dollar rate) this is not mentioned anywhere, so be AWARE!
Promises were not kept, breakfast was supposed to be ready at 7am (we had an early tour so we were downstairs for breakfast at 7:00 sharp) the employee that was responsible for this didn't show up until 7:10am and didn't have breakfast ready until 7:30am exactly when we were picked up for our tour, i.e. we didn't have breakfast (which we did pay for). The last day of our stay we again told them that we would need breakfast to be ready at 7:00 AM and again the same employee arrived late (at 7:00AM) which again meant we were unable to enjoy breakfast. Our heating did not work (it was always turned on to the maximum which turned the room into a sauna). After we asked them to fix it the handyman just turned it off instead of fixing it and told us it should be working. After this the room temperature went near to 0 as the whole building is not insulated. The shower did not produce warm water which made it impossible to shower.
The last thing that ruined our stay and nearly made us miss our bus, was that we asked one of the employees a day before we were supposed to leave to book us a taxi for 7:30 AM the next day. We believed that this was arranged as he ascertained us it was “easy peasy”. The next day at 7:30 am there was no cab and at 7:35 still no cab. We had to make a quick last minute booking ourselves to get to the bus station in time… all in all the employees are not meticulous, forgetful and don't keep their promises. I would not recommend staying here.
