On calmer days you’re more likely to spot a sea lion bobbing in the surf, and occasionally a dolphin or even a grey whale. Continue to historic Fort Point at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge, just two miles west, where surfers hang ten when he conditions are right. or take the more rigorous hiking paths up the hill to walk across the iconic bridge itself. This part of the Presidio houses many entertaining public venues including Planet Granite climbing gym, Batter’s Box batting cages and House of Air trampoline park. Don’t miss the swans, turtles, koi fish and other wildlife including herons and egrets abundant in the pond adjacent to the 100+-year-old Neo Classical Palace of Fine Arts, one of the city’s most popular and picturesque photo backdrops, just two blocks from the house.
Head south four blocks and you’ll find yourself in the heart of the Marina’s commercial center-- Chestnut Street-- packed with lively restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. The neighborhood’s dining establishments are varied and abundant. Our group of ten had a wonderful stay at Villa Marina. The house was larger than expected and accommodated our group of six adults and four children very comfortably. The children were intrigued with the second inner staircase in the home! Kitchen was on the small side but very well equipped. The hostess was very accommodating to our needs and check in and check out were uncomplicated. Location is excellent…a mere block and a half from the bay. I recommend Villa Marina for your stay.

Great 5 star visit.

My husband, 16 month daughter, and two small poodle mix pups stayed for several nights.
Anne, the host, could not have been more thoughtful. She left toy wood blocks for my daughter as well as baby gates, a pack n play, and booster seat. She was extremely organized in the information she provided to us about the home and even left us a bottle of champagne and chocolates.
The beds are comfortable and everything is as pictured. The place is much bigger in person. The bedrooms are endless and the art is beautiful.
In my third trimester of pregnancy, I very much appreciated the fancy bath tub in the master bedroom. The attached balcony is really a lovely place to sit and enjoy. My dogs enjoyed the backyard.
My heart remains in the Marina and it was such a treat to visit. I lived here for many years before moving to the burbs. This home is so close to Chrissy Field, Fort Mason, the Marina Green, and all the delicious restaurants… You could not pick a better location.
We had a great stay and hope to be back again soon.

Wonderful experience! Home was spacious, well stocked and located close to most of SF major attractions. Host was accessible and informative, handling any concerns we might have had. Can’t say enough good things about our stay. Highly recommended if your vacationing in SF.

Beautiful location just a block from the Marina, a gorgeous walk on the waterfront, iconic views of Golden Gate Bridge, and the Palace of Fine Arts. There is a very lively commercial district on Chestnut Street a couple blocks away where you can get anything you want, including groceries tons of good food. There is also a bus line on the street that can get you anywhere on the city. The house itself is beautiful and charming, and it was perfect for our family gathering with many small kids. The host was very helpful and communicative and always just a text away. Highly recommend! We lucked out.

Draft:
We traveled from India on the occasion of our daughter's wedding and needed a base for a fortnight. We needed a house with all amenities - and I mean ALL as the house was to be the base for family travelling from different places.
The location in Marina district - excellent neighborhood, close to shopping, the Marina waterfront and central to all our planned wedding activities.
The house was a home away from home and much, much more.
The house had everything from a 2 car garage, excellent well stocked kitchen, living space, comfortable bedrooms, washing machines, driers, dishwasher, well stocked linen, wifi and AV - in plenty.
The host , Anne left detailed information of the house and surrounding areas.
Most importantly, she was always available for help / advice as and when we needed it.
Her kindness played a major role in making our trip as perfect as we could have wanted.
The house had a cheerful vibe and character - making it the ideal base for our trip.
Thank you Anne and VRBO...!

This home was perfect for our extended family to gather. The house has everything you need including loads of games for family fun! The neighborhood location is perfect. You can catch bus 30 right across the street or bus 43 just a few blocks away. Chestnut street has loads of interesting shopping and dining.
Our host was thorough and communication was a breeze. She was always available by email and text and her instructions are well thought out and highly detailed.
If you read reviews for location/tour tips we really enjoyed walking to the wave organ - go at high tide! And Lucky Jeep tours was fantastic! The Alcatraz behind the scenes tour was worth the money and since we took the afternoon tour they added the night tour for free which was an excellent addition to our day - plan on 5 hours not 3 like they state on the web site.

From the first communication, Anne made us feel welcome and then greeted us with chocolate and wine. The house was very spacious and easily slept 6. We had everything we needed including all kitchen supplies, games, Wi-Fi, AV. This is a great house for kids. The house is in a great location in the Marina so very safe and you can walk everywhere.

We organized a company retreat in SF and booked this property for our team members. The house felt very comfortable, the location is amazing, and everything was very clean and tidy. Also, The house is fully equipped, and convenient for groups or big families. Anne, the host, was super supportive and present in every detail. She really wanted to make sure everyone felt welcomed and always checked if we needed anything. We had a very good experience!

This home is in a great location if you want to be steps from the Marina Green and walking distance to Chestnut Street. We were grateful for the garage parking and garden. It is a very spacious home. Our only complaint was that the home was not cleaned. For example, the wood floors and carpets had debris and dog hair apparent throughout the house, and crumbs and dust on surfaces. The extent of the problem was not an issue of a partial or poor cleaning, instead entire rooms and hallways had not been vacuumed or dusted at all. There was also an issue in the master bathroom, but I will not go into detail about it. We notified the owner who sent a cleaner the day after our arrival. Fortunately, this was an uncommon experience. If it were typical of VRBO, we would stick to hotels.

Our stay in this Marina home was more than promised. We came to celebrate our son’s marriage and wanted a home base for family who came from around the country to join us. The location was central to all of our activities and walking distance to many SF attractions. An easy Lyft to everywhere else. The house itself was roomy and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen and baths and very comfortable beds. The owners were a delight to get to know, responsive and helpful. All in all everything I would hope for in a VRBO home. Our deepest thanks for making our wedding week memorable.

Our family (husband, wife, three daughters, one son-in-law) rented this property for a week. We loved the space it offered (bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas) as well as the neighborhood--walking distance to the marina, farmer's market, Chestnut Street restaurants. The owner is very friendly and checked in with us multiple times before and during our stay.

We had an enjoyable experience in this spacious and wonderful home. The bedrooms were large and had character. The location is second to none and we rode the provided bikes as well as using scooters and exploring by foot all over but especially along the waterfront with an easy ride to the Golden gate bridge. Anne, the owner was easily reachable for any concerns. We would definitely come back in the future.

For our family of 5, this house could not have been more perfect. The owner, Anne, was so kind and generous to my family. She was with us, via text, the whole time to support our stay. The house beds are super comfortable and the house works as a true home for our family. It is exactly as advertised. What a great place. Parking in the garage was a huge plus in SF. So many amenities. Too many to name but clean bathrooms and warm showers were a great start. Kitchen worked well for breakfasts and we ate all other meals elsewhere. Big fridge worked well. When I go back to SF I will rent from here every time. It could not have worked out better for our family. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a wonderful stay. 8 Adults and 2 young children, in town for a wedding. Anne, the owner, was very communicative in advance of our stay and very attentive to our needs and even bought a new booster seat and pack and play, just for us. We had 2 full size SUVs that fit in the garage! No parking hassles. The house had so much room for all of us and all our activities. Even a grand piano. We will definitely stay here again.

Anne and husband were amazing, caring hosts. Their house is very large, super convenient to everything, 3 blocks from the Bay, and quiet, safe neighborhood. Beds have luxurious pillow topped mattresses, super comfortable to sleep in. Windows open to allow the fabulously cool, crisp, fresh bug free air into the house. Cute little landscaped backyard to lounge, nap, read. 2 car garage to park cars. Great restaurants and stores 3 blocks away. All in all highly recommended place!

We had a great overall family visit to San Francisco. We opted to stay in the Marina District, a terrific decision. The location proved to be the perfect jumping off spot for everything we needed; restaurants, shopping and iconic landmarks. The house we settled on gave us the full SF experience. Built in 1926 you could feel the history in an appropriately updated style. It was comfortable, clean while maintaining the historic charm. Loved the garaged parking, outdoor deck off the master bedroom and kitchen had everything a family might need. We would highly recommend considering this location and this specific house.

I can’t say enough good things about this house. My five person family stayed there for a week while visiting extended family in San Francisco. The house was perfect for our family — plenty of room to spread out, even when my wife and I were working remotely. The house was also perfect for entertaining — with a large dining room table, outdoor space, and a comfortable living room. The tandem garage was also useful, ensuring both we and our guests had a place to park.
We hosted several 9 person dinners — some of which we cooked and some of which we ordered in. The location is fabulous, near the marina which is perfect for walking, biking, and running, and also near Chestnut Street, with great stores, restaurants etc.
Finally, I can’t say enough good things about Anne. She was welcoming, thoughtful, and incredibly thorough in making sure the house was ready for us and that everything went well during our stay.

We enjoyed an extended family gathering at this beautiful property in the Marina District of SF to celebrate a graduation. The property is spacious, well maintained and very charming. The location is absolutely outstanding--everything is very close and many within walking distance (restaurants, coffee shops, flower shops, running paths, the beautiful Bay, groceries, etc.). Anna was a great communicator, very responsive, provided suggestions for the area, flexible and checked in periodically to see if we needed anything or had questions. All in all a great experience and would highly recommend.

The house is gorgeous and well-kept. The owners are pleasant to work with and were available if anything was needed. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The location is perfect and convenient to the Marina as well as to the nearby restaurants.

Our experience at this house was excellent. All features described in the listing were as promised, plus more. And the property owners were attentive and available if needed, and did an excellent job of providing detailed instructions regarding how to enjoy our stay to the max!
We had a total of 9 adults and spent 3 nights at the property and there was plenty of room to relax and be together if we wanted to, or be separate at other times because the house is very roomy and well laid out. The location is fabulous within easy walks of the ocean and restaurants. We are very happy that we stayed here and would not hesitate to return the next time we're in San Francisco. Thanks Anne and Gary.

The property worked very well to host my family who had traveled to SF from all over the world. It provided us a nice place to host meals and for 9 of us to sleep comfortably. Anne was lovely as a host and very accommodating to all of us.

This house was very comfortable for our family ranging in ages from 20 to 85. It was a great home-base to walk to fort mason, restaurants along chestnut street, Crissy field and more. The house was very clean and chalked full of amenities. Anne was a great host, always in communication and willing to suggest ideas in the city. We walked to Greens, Boho, and A16 restaurants- and loved them all. A lyft was never more than 2 minutes away. The Marina is our favorite neighborhood in the City and we would love to return to this great house.
5.0
the house is set up well in a quiet neighborhood in the marina, there is some construction going on next door but it was not annoying. The owners are very friendly and responsive, the house is reasonably priced considering San Francisco real estate. We were there for a wedding and would happily go back if needed for a large family.
5.0
Wonderful property close to the marina area and great restaurants. The owners are super nice and the house had everything we possibly could need for a comfortable stay. Perfect the our 3 families
5.0
This is a magnificent comfortable house in a uniquely beautiful neighborhood. The owners share the equipment in their well equipped kitchen, including spices, oils, etc. which makes it realistic to cook full meals. The large dinning room table makes it possible for a large group to all eat together. Household management is easy with washers, dryers, and dishwasher that all work well.
All beds are comfortable. The master bedroom suite is luxurious with Jacuzzi, walk in shower, and huge closets. There is a large deck off the master bedroom that we used often. The young grandchildren enjoyed this fenced in deck. It was very easy for the three generations to share this home.
The location of this beautiful home is fabulous for may reasons. It is two blocks from Palace of Fine Arts. San Francisco Bay is less than two blocks away. A short walk along the water takes one to restored sand dunes, sandy beaches, and a walking and bicycle path that goes all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Only blocks from the house is Chestnut Street that has an independent grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops and other businesses. A bit further away (short drive or 20 to 30 minute walk), there is a supermarket and Fort Mason Park.that hosts a large farmers market on Sunday mornings. For those interested in walking, it is possible to continue on through the Park to Ghirardelli Square. The Marina District is flat which is an advantage for those not comfortable with steep hills. Public transportation is available with the number 30 bus running very near the house. The home's garage fits two cars. My family used car or public transport depending on our type of outing.
The owners of this house are friendly and provide all that is needed for comfort including towels, sheets, blankets, soap, shampoo, etc. There are many books and games in addition to all the electronics mentioned in the perspective.
I and my extended family highly recommend this home.

Several of me and my colleagues stayed here for a work event. This home is very nice and spacious. There was great common areas for us to hang out, as well as tucked away spots if you want a little alone time. :)
This is also located in a great area, right down the street from the Marina which was so beautiful and includes views of the bridge and Alcatraz. There are also plenty of nice restaurants within a few minutes walk. Anne gave us several recommendations on where to eat and they were all fantastic!
It was wonderful working with Anne, she was very responsive and great to work with. We had a wonderful stay.

This was our first VRBO experience and it was easy and simple from the beginning. Everything online and on time.
As far as the property was concerned, it was great for a number of reasons. Plenty of decent sized bedrooms, multiple bathrooms. Great living room and dining room. A gaming room for the kids (Fortnite forever!). Two nice patios. Last but not least a two car garage, which, given the parking situation in the town, is a must if you plan on driving
The location was great. It was walking distance to the Marina. It was about a twenty minute car ride to all of the great places we visited including. North Beach, the zoo, Alcatraz, Chinatown (House of Nanking, best Chinese food ever!), GG bridge, and Muir Woods (about 30 minutes).
We also had the benefit of sunshine ever day of our trip which, unfortunately, cannot be guarantied.
would rent this property again in a heartbeat

The listing gave a very accurate description of the home, location, amenities and layout. We rented the home a week to attend my son’s wedding who resides in San Francisco. We needed to accommodate my son, daughter in law and 3 grandchildren. It had plenty of room and privacy for all. The home is clean and very well maintained. Anne was a very gracious hostess. She met us shortly after our arrival to make sure everything was in order and to answer any questions we had. She provided us with detailed information prior to our arrival about the residence and surrounding area. The information also included location of shops, restaurants, places of interest and entertainment which we found very helpful. All her contact information was provided if there were any concerns. We would highly recommend this property without hesitation. It was everything we had hoped and met all our needs

The Two parking spaces are a bonus. Walking distance to Chestnut street, close to Chrissy Field, short drivie to the Golden Gate Visitors Center and the Fisherman’s Whatf.

We enjoyed our stay in this home during the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Anne and her family were excellent hosts. It was fun to meet them. They have a very spacious home, excellent location near Marina Green and Chestnut Street. We enjoyed being within walking distance of restaurants, shops, tourist sites and the water. Anne provided for all of our needs for our stay including use of the two car garage for bike storage. They provided very clear and appreciated check in procedures and tips about their home. We would definitely stay here again when visiting San Francisco.
