About this apartment rental
Location, location, location. Separate entrance! Off street parking! Full kitchen and washer/dryer for a super-comfy stay.
Stroll just 2 blocks to town from the studio, the lower level of my Montford home. My neighborhood is beautiful and historic, with mature trees and lots of flowers, but my home was built in 2001 and the studio was completely renovated in 2018.
Although close to expressways for easy access, the studio is very quiet - no highway noise to disturb you. Neighbors come and go, of course. And the ice-cream truck usually tootles by on Thursdays...maybe you recall that classic tune.
Enjoy the airy living area - kitchen, dining table/chairs, bar stools at the large granite kitchen island/counter, and a comfy sofa that converts into a pillow-top queen bed.
The cozy sleeping area features a king bed, built-in bookcases - full of books and games - and a pair of green chairs that remind me of Goodnight Moon...
The kitchen is fully equipped - dishes, glasses of all kinds, flatware, cookware and utensils - down to a vegetable peeler and lemon squeezer! You won't have to go shopping for coffee/tea, sugar/honey, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, cheese and crackers, olive oil, vinegar and condiments - all provided for you on arrival. My guests will also enjoy a welcome treat from a range of possibilities. We'll talk!
Other amenities include TV, WIFI, toiletries, blow dryer, first aid kit, washer/dryer, detergent & dish soap & pods for the mini-dishwasher, cleaning supplies and a new large room air filter, just in case those fires get across the mountains. So far, so good.
Rest assured, I launder everything between guests - not just sheets/ towels, but also mattress pad, duvet cover, bath mat and little kitchen rug.. Every time. Just as I would like it to be!
It's just a 5 minute walk up Flint St. and you're in downtown Asheville. You can enjoy our delightful restaurants, shops, independent bookstores, an indie movie theater and several rooftop bars with spectacular views. Don't forget the drum circle Friday evenings - genuine local color and fun!
Just 2 blocks down Starnes (the other direction) is our sweet neighborhood coffee/tea emporium, High Five, with free wifi and friendly folks. Across the street from it is Little Jumbo's, a terrific pub with a New Orleans feel. Monday and Tuesday are jazz nights - locals hang out, including me! Two more blocks and you are in Whole Foods, next to Trader Joe's and across a street from Harris Teeter, the big supermarket. Look ma - no car!
A favorite cafe catering mostly to locals, All Day Darling, is just a 5 minute walk through my historic Montford neighborhood. Tall Johns and Nine Mile are just a bit further. No car necessary, but the parking is easy.
Fully renovated in 2018, as noted above, the studio is now a short term rental after being a home for friends/tenants for 3 years. Although they could hear some movement from my living space above, it didn't bother them. I will observe quiet hours between 9:30 pm and 8:30 am during your stay. The space is not baby-proofed and probably not suitable for kids under 12.
As the reviews indicate, I love helping my guests have their best time in Asheville and the surrounding area. Fair warning: I visited and ... moved here!

After a 4 night mini vacation in Asheville we realized we should of stayed longer. Anita's property was perfect size and location for walking into Downtown and exploring the Montford District. The apartment was so well appointed with everything we would need for a comfortable stay. I appreciated the extra touches like veggies from her garden, eggs, and coffee. The bed was super comfortable. Online pictures were exactly as we experienced. Anita was a great host with communication prior and during our stay. We loved all the tips and recommendations she offered from restaurants and things to see and do. Great to get a local perspective. Looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful apartment, wonderful host, and close to everything. This is a great apartment to rent if you are visiting Ashville.

My stay was absolutely wonderful. The studio is charming and has all the necessities. Anita is a gracious, caring and informative host. Not only did she keep me in cut flowers, she also had items in the refrigerator so I wouldn't have to shop right away. The house is within easy walking distance of downtown Asheville, as well as the highway. The neighborhood is filled with wonderful houses and beautiful flowers. This property is a real find! I am so glad I stayed here! Anita, thank you so much.

This property was excellent. It was a well-appointed, clean, roomy, cozy studio apartment located within easy walking distance of good restaurants and downtown shopping areas. The Asheville Tourist Center was also located within a few blocks. This was an excellent jumping off point for local tours. We were very pleased with the accomodations and the extras ;left for us to enjoy.

We had the most comfortable and special stay at Anita's sweet studio. It was just perfect. Super clean, well-appointed, centrally located, and extremely cozy. Anita was the best host. We have made a friend and will absolutely be back.

From the minute we arrived, this place exceeded our expectations. For a couple with three young kids, this place had everything we could ask for; clean, quiet, spacious, and all the modern amenities for comfort. The host, Anita, is amazing and made us feel right at home. From the fresh cut flowers, to the organic snacks, you can tell she really loves hosting people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the location cannot be beat!

My mom and I took a girls trip to Ashville. Anita was the most hospitable host I have ever had. She was very communicative and reachable, both before and during our stay. The place was equipped with snacks and breakfast items and any toiletry you may have forgotten. The unit itself was clean, updated, and very cozy for a cool fall trip. The bed was very comfortable. Perfect location that was very walkable to downtown but away for any noise or traffic. Would definitely be my first choice to stay at again! Thank you Anita!!

Anita was the consummate host making us well welcome during our 5 day stay. The apartment is well stocked on arrival-Anita having asked for special requests in advance. Coffee was it for us!
The apartment is within easy walking distance of downtown with good access to nearby freeway. We used it as base to visit the Great Smoking Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway sights.

We enjoyed our time in this downstairs apartment. The furnishings are homey but very comfortable. The appliances are older, but working. Close to downtown, within easy walking distance. The owner is super easy to deal with and very attentive. It’s in a lovely neighborhood and we really enjoyed our time here. I would recommend it.

Highly recommend staying here. Anita was such an incredible host! From the initial request/confirmation, through the visit itself, she was available for us. We experience flight delays getting to Asheville, but check-in was still a breeze.
The studio is as beautiful as the pictures show, and an easy walk downtown. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks, Anita!

Anita is an amazing host. She literally has thought of everything to make your stay super comfy. Full kitchen and fridge. Toaster oven and a microwave as well as a stove. We were able to cook a couple meals while we were there. The bed is very comfortable. There are books and games for you to use during your stay. Very clean.
Close proximity to downtown. Easy walk. Follow Anita's recommendations for places to eat and hikes and you can't go wrong. She has done all the research for you.
I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
Thanks again Anita for a great getaway.

The studio was a very comfortable, convenient place to stay. It is spacious and and Anita has assured it has all the amenities. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and informed! It is conveniently located to downtown Asheville and is also conveniently located for access to the highway, for exploring the greater Asheville area. There is a Whole Foods a few blocks away for a nice stroll or easy drive. Overall a wonderful experience.

Wonderfully Perfect!
Wow! Amazing! Totally unforgettable. You'll enjoy exploring the wonder of Asheville & environs in this perfect place!
Everything about it is sparkling new! Including the beautiful house embracing this studio, furnishings, its own washer & drier, subway tiled bathroom, cute, industrial themed fixtures, parking space. Anita filled a vase with garden herbs found just outside the door for my arrival!
The studio sits amid historic Montford’s historic buildings & architectural designs. It’s a quiet area where neighbors walk their family dog, play with their kids, & you feel safe & cared for. Quiet, too, at night for sleeping. Walk a couple blocks to the Visitor Center & get a walking map of historic Montford that includes a Thomas Wolfe Look Homeward Angel his father carved. A couple blocks the other direction is his museum, family home, & Asheville Urban Trail.
Eat in. Explore North Asheville's Tailgate Market only 1 1/2 mile north of the studio on the WNC campus with fresh veggies, artisan baked breads, free range meats, & more. Bring it home to cook on the full-size stove with the pots, pans, & utensils. Full size fridge to keep everything fresh. Microwave. Toaster oven. Even more markets abound nearby.
Eat out. Amazing local culinary delights that are recognized nationally abound! Anita walked with me over the bridge one block from the studio, & there's the Asheville Convention Center where something's always coming to town. Malaprops Book Store 2 buildings down where there's always coffee & a famous author to hear. There are well known tourist cafes, Early Girl, Tupelo Cafe, & others. Anita went above & beyond walking me to hidden gems only the locals know about. Along the way, she pointed out art deco architecture Asheville is known for. Do not miss the gargoyles! If breweries are your thing, you'll be in heaven! (And able to walk a few blocks home afterwards:) Local music! Bakeries are my thing with scintillating aromas of fresh breads & cookies! All walking distance, or a short drive away. Walk a couple blocks to tilted Lexington Ave with amazing local fashion artisans at Royal Peasantry & Vintage Moon Modern. Drive the Blue Ridge Trail to waterfalls where movies are filmed. Hike whatever length trail works for you. Find beautiful artisan works of singing bowls, unusual baskets, paintings. Sit on the balcony of the Grove Park Inn overlooking the mountains & then visit its Gallery!
All you do is smile & dream of returning again & again!
