Very enjoyable, would return

Location was superb, the breakfast was good, the room spotless, I would have liked a microwave and cutlery so we could eat in. There was a dining area but no crockery or cutlery. I did see some downstairs but not in our area. Safety was superb too.

Mentioned above, also could not go outside, although the room had a lovely balcony to sit outside.

It was beautiful. Felt like home. We were free.

The safety features and convenience for the entry code instead of using actual keys. The comfort of knowing that the likelihood of having random people in the property is next to zero as everyone has their unique code for entry.

No electric blankets. No air conditioning or heaters. The water was cold so we couldn’t shower as early as we wished to.

Extremely pleasant.

Acceptable but small issues need maintaining and fixing.

The accommodation was acceptable and comfortable. The venue was also clean and our host who did our cooking and helped was also great. Sadly there was a fault with the door and the decoder did not work properly meaning it contually turned off and rebooted over the two days we stayed there. For the rest Atholl guest house was fine for a nights stay.

We also found the shower very small meaning when one was showering, lots of water leaked onto the bathroom floors leaving soaking wet bath mats and towels across the floor. For the rest Atholl guest house was fine for a nights stay.

Superb

We were met by Megan who was very accommodating, and friendly. She showed us around and explained the workings of our rooms. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was good. The B&B is close to Sandton and this was very convenient for business.

DSTV was on a limited package, I couldn't watch the golf. Bottled water in the rooms would have been appreciated

Security is top of the list, the room was so big and fully equipped with a bar fridge, good wifi , comfortable bed, everything I needed in the room and fully equipped communal kitchen the hostess was so hands on and easy going, very pleasant, the breakfast was divine, I will recommend this place anytime

A nice stay close to Santon. Certainly advisable if you are by car yourself as it is easy accessible and puts you quickly on the roads or for when you travel for work. The hosts are kind and attentive, ensuring everything is in order. The rooms are well equipped with extended necessities.

Thandi who assisted me was so friendly and went an extra mile. I asked for a warmer room as I am afraid of the cold and i was provided with an electric blanket and extra two blankets. Thank you so much host.

The breakfast was the same for 3 days and too basic.

Nice refuge in Johannesburg

Stayed in a spacious, clean and quite room in what seems to be a nice house in Sandton, one of the safer parts of Johannesburg, where gates, fences, cameras and security guards try their best to create a feeling of normality. Bed is comfortable, owner and staff are very friendly, and there's a tiny gated garden with artificial grass, two iron chairs and a table attached to the room. Nelson Mandela Square (the luxury Shopping Mall for the rich named after South Africas greatest freedom fighter) is a 20 minutes walk or a 5 minutes Taxi ride after dark away. Breakfast is good, and one can find great food for many budgets in the Mall. In rough places like Johannesburg a refuge like Guesthouse like the Atholl is of great value.

Felt sad for the place... changed my mind about staying as soon as I got in.. place looks forlorn

Electric blanket bed was not too bad the lady who welcomed me

Sanitizer inside the room because of the numerous appliances people use. Carpets could benefit from a thorough clean plugs not easy to use-- side lamp did not work on the first night-- maybe it was switched off somewhere. balcony looked out on an old tennis court-- a bit depressing. I think the owner must charge a bit more and spruce the place up -- entrance couches could also do with an upgrade. This is a great quiet spot.. needs a lot more tender loving care. free breakfast was cold toast and muesli already mixed with yogurt-- rather cut the freeby or charge for a decent hot breakfast. Breakfast brought right into the bedroom and placed on the desk... not what one expects .. there is a lot of competition out there... sadly would not return for another stay or recommend it to anyone- Lovely staff... very accommodating
