About this house rental
The lovely town of Burford occupies a position on the meandering River Windrush. Burford is built on a fairly steep hill, and the view from the top of the hill looking down the High Street to the river is one of the classic panoramas of the Cotswolds. A lovely 4-arched medieval bridge, widened in the 18th century, crosses the Windrush, and though Burford itself does not occupy the northern bank, a walk across the bridge is rewarded by wonderful views across watermeadows to the spire of St. John the Baptist parish church.
152 The Hill has been completed renovated and now offers 5 individual holiday homes, The Barn is one of them, all five properties can be all be rented if you would like, family Christmas, special occasions, the whole property will sleep up to 23, but you will all have your individual space, please see 8379754, 8379757, 8379752, 6977567, and please contact us for details.
The Barn is a two bedroom cottage, with one bathroom with shower, it can sleep up to 4 people, the bedrooms are individual, one double bed and one with a king size bed, downstairs is a large open plan living, kitchen, dining area and a sitting room with TV. Outside there is a small private area just for this cottage, where there is table and chairs to relax in.
A communal garden can be found at the back of the property, it is lawned and is available to all guests that are staying at 152 The Hill. When you step outside the property, you are metres away from a newsagent, a butcher, a deli, a chemist, restaurants, pubs, a little further down is the Co-op shop. It is a brilliant place to stay as a base to explore the Cotswolds, with many places to visit.

The barn has been very tastefully presented and was very comfortable. In terms of location, it doesn't get much better than this. The barn is set back from the High Street, so road noise is not an issue at all. All of the shops, restaurants and pubs are within walking distance. It was lovely to park the car up for two days and not drive at all. The Angel, just off the High Street, was a particular favorite, but do book in advance. It was really handy having the courtyard garden for the dog. In summary, a fabulous place to stay in a beautiful Cotswold town.

We just loved The Barn, it perfectly suited our needs, the welcome gifts were amazing and very kind. The courtyard is lovely as is the shared garden and the location amazing if you want to go out dinner and/or breakfast. We would definitely rebook
If I had one tiny criticism it’s nothing to do with the host or accommodation it’s the Vrbo App it is awful

The Barn was walking distance to town, shops, and restaurants. There was a nearby grocery store and we drove to other Cotswold towns from Burford.. We enjoyed the shared courtyard and the cupcakes on arrival! We would definitely book this property again if we were to return to England!

Pro’s: Great location on main street of adorable Burford. Clean accommodations with all necessities. Comfortable beds and nice bath amenities.
Con’s: Very difficult parking due to no designated parking, location and popular town. Housekeeper parked is loading zone and shop keeper harassed us while we loaded up in another loading zone. Potential for noise as shared common area right in front of this unit, so if you want privacy, this is not it. About 5 units in this shred complex.
All things considered, would stay there again!

Burford is a gem; ‘the barn’ is fantastic! Spacious, light, comfy - felt right at home. Greeted with cupcakes, fresh bread, jam and a bottle of champagne in the little fridge. Laundry available if needed; wonderful shared outdoor space. Ready to move in for good😊 Thank you, Sally!

You can't beat this rental property! I spend far too much time analyzing where to stay during my family trips and I looked at many different towns in the Cotswolds. This location was perfection. Burford is a charming town with a fantastic main street filled with lots of shops and excellent restaurants. Plus it's a great launching-off point for other Cotswold towns (Chipping Camden, Broadway, Bourton on the Water, Blenheim Castle, etc. The cottage itself is wonderful. Tons of space downstairs with a large, clean kitchen, large kitchen table, and roomy living area with TV. The upstairs worked well, too, with 2 bedrooms of good size. When we arrived, the kitchen was stocked with fresh baked bread, a lemon loaf, milk, coffee, butter and jam! So kind and saved us from having to run to the grocery store that night. I would 100% stay at this property again and hope to in the near future!

This is a hidden gem! We stayed a couple of nights while we toured through England. Great town with lots of pub and restaurants to choose from. Loved all the shops. The Barn was perfect for our family. Space to spread out a bit and not be tripping over each other. We appreciated that Sally was so thoughtful and left us some fresh baked bread and bakery goodies. Such a fun place. If we’re ever traveling here again I would definitely stay.

Fantastic cottage and location
The barn was the perfect place to return to after exploring, Burford is beautiful and it’s situated right on the high street, but is set back far enough that it’s not noisy. Highly recommend, we took our 4 month old daughter and dog. I thought the parking was going to be an issue but was surprised free spaces did become available quite often.

The Barn is a fabulous place to stay. The open plan downstairs is huge but cosy and the two bedrooms are roomy with the comfiest beds. The outside courtyard is a stunning addition. Overall, a wonderful place to stay whilst visiting the lovely town of Burford.

Wonderful retreat in the centre of Burford
We had such a lovely mini break with our three year old, the house was set up to have everything we needed for our stay and the treats on arrival really helped settle us in! The location is so central but being that tiny bit set back means that it was lovely and quiet at night. Great communication throughout and the check in process was lovely and easy, great instructions meant it was hassle free too. Would highly recommend!

We absolutely loved staying at this property. It was a perfect location for us exploring the wider area but also plenty to see and do just on the doorstep.
Excellent standard of accommodation, very clean and great facilities. A few nice touches for the children including toys in the cupboard and high quality high chair/travel cot.
Lovely warm welcome with the bread, cakes and fizz too!

Lovely cosy cottage in gorgeous location
The Barn is a home from home. All linens are lovely and crisp and the property in spotlessly clean. On arrival Sally had left butter and milk in the fridge and delicious freshly baked bread and cakes. Such a nice welcoming . The check in was simple and contactless. The location on The Hill was ideal, near to shops for provisions and for browsing some cute independent shops. We visited the local pub and staff were very friendly and had a delicious meal at The Angel . On leaving we had left something at the property and Sally was really easy to communicate with and most accomodating and helpful.

Nice private property in a good location
We stayed for 5 nights in the property. It was well furnished and we were pleasantly surprised to find the fridge stocked with milk and the bread bin stocked with bread when we arrived. It was also perfect for our small dog as there was a private courtyard/garden out back to let her out in. Would book this property again.

I would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage. Very clean, nice decor and good size.
Whilst ideally situated on the Main Street it also gave you the feeling of being located further back with its tranquility. I like the nice touches of making you feel welcome with homemade bread, cupcakes and a bottle wine. Outside seating felt more spacious than pictures so nice pleasant surprise. Would definitely recommend.

Ticked all the boxes!!
My family (wife, 3 year old and 10 month old) were looking for a couple of days away and Sally’s barn was perfect. Beautifully presented with all the necessities. The location is what really sold it to us, with all pubs, shops and restaurants of Burford literally on your doorstep.
A wonderful break and would highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage
We had a fab few days in The Barn, which is just beautiful, clean and close to local amenities on the high street. Burford is just beautiful, and Sally and her husband Rick were fab hosts, making me a delicious birthday cake for our stay. Her husband also called me to help out with some car issues we were having and made recommendations on where we could go that was toddler friendly. They were fantastic hosts and we will be back!
The village itself is beautiful as is the surrounding area...a visit to the Wildlife Park is a must, Rhinos in Oxfordshire...who would have thought it! Blenheim Palace was also fabulous and even has a toddler friendly adventure playground and miniature railway.
Great accommodation in a great location.

What a perfect cottage in a perfect location. Everything on your doorstep. We chilled for our short break not using the car once.
The cottage was adorable and immaculately presented, everything you needed.
Delicious home made shortbread along with a bottle of bubbly, bread, butter and jam met us on arrival.
Will certainly be back xx
