Tolle Unterkunft, die durch Lage und Konzept hervorsticht. Hier findet man Ruhe und kann Natur genießen. Von der Unterkunft aus sind die 7-farbigen-Erden und der Charamel-Wasserfall schnell erreichbar.

The lovely setting and surroundings. The charming accommodation, the delicious home cooked meals. The horse rides for the children and how our daughter could help feeding and caring for the horses.
Double beds were a bit small, some kitchen appliances could be replaced.

This is our 2nd time staying at Vielle Cheminée and as usual my husband and I are always happy with our getaway there! It's perfectly hidden in the hills of Chamarel, surrounded by nature and animals. We love the farm life and the fireplace. We stayed at La Cabane this time which is smaller than La Remise but definitely cozy. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was great as usual and we enjoyed the dinner which we ordered ahead of time. 100% recommend if you are looking for quiet time away from city noise.
We struggled a bit with the wood provided for the fireplace as they were wet and not picking the fire but we made do.

The lodge was so nice, and we really enjoyed to use the outside terrace with the fireplace🤩It was very clean and some good furnitures. the breakfast was really great and there was a lot of food. If you love nature you should stay here👏there are so many things in the area you can do.
we are a family of 5 peoples and we really relaxed and had a good time☺️
The poo was so fare away

The area is amazing. You feel as you were in the jungle.
Very nice staff. Breakfast brought to the house. We asked for extra bread and there was no issue with that!
Be prepared for mosquitoes.

love how it was a complete cutoff from our everyday busy city life. the place is sooooo quiet and calm, the staff is really kind and everybody was so zen over there. made us feel better than home…
the lightings should be adjustable, a little too dim
for the night. we had barbeque out, it wasnt easy with the dim light. but it was a very minor thing.

Amazing place and location to get some peace and quiet in nature with nice short hiking trails and great food options.
Unfortunately riding was only possible for 20 mins. As I had initially decided to book due to the riding possibilities on the farm, this was a bit disappointing. But definitely still a great place to visit!

We stayed in La Cabane (the cabin) and it was absolutely wonderful. The location is perfect for a few days up in the hills, very peaceful, and the staff are lovely. We walked around the property on their marked trails (take LOTS of insect repellent!) and ordered two evening meals, which were delicious and very generous portions. A great array of wildlife, including watching a fruit bat in the tree opposite and a little red cardinal bird who came each morning and demanded some food! Breakfast is delivered each morning - fresh eggs to cook as you want, fresh bread, fruit etc. This really does show a completely different side of Mauritius - can’t recommend highly enough. Highly recommend the Ebony Forest nearby.
Absolutely nothing.

Lovely quiet location. The cottages were well spaced out and it was a beautiful area. The rooms were well sized and there was a large (sheltered) veranda. The kitchen was well equipped and it lived up to our 'eco' expectations with recycling, compost bin etc. The staff were really friendly and there was a very useful shop for food (or dinner could be provided).
The swimming pool was really far away - we had to drive - and was tiny and freezing. It was also untended and we had to remove a dead frog before swimming. Lovely location for it, but overall better just not to have one. Also the (needed) mosquito nets on the beds hadn't been put up properly and kept gapping.

Fully equipped cabin surrounded by nature. You truly feel like living in the jungle with all commodities.
Amazing views from Le Perchoir in particular.
Comfy fireplace and BBQ area with plenty of wood and coal.
Convenient serve yourself system where you just grab food or beverages and write it down to pay later.
Fresh breakfast with their own farm products brought to you every morning.
Great area to hike and thumbs up to the kiosk at the top where you can arrive after a hike and jump into the pool.
Nothing.

just one type of breakfest (but it was delicious).

Most amazing views in Mauritius. you seep in a chalet in the middle of a forest with so many great hikes in the location itself.
Friendly staff
Well equipped chalets in a very fair price.
Living in a forest = dealing with a lot of insects.

Hospitality - you are really treated as a guest, from first moment till last. Fully equipped and enough space. Beautiful teracce. Privacy.
You are in the heart of tropical forest farmhouse, with all positives and negatives. So bring moskyto spray and respect all other animals irrespective the size😉😁

The farm is very well kept, and offers significant variety of trees and plants of all kinds. The views from the top are impressive, especially at sunset.
The mosquitoes are very numerous and annoying. Not sure the management can do something about it, but this is quite a concern especially if you have allergic
reactions to bites.

Our stay was FANTASTIC!!
The lodges are incredible and the private outside space is so peaceful.
The breakfasts brought up and delivered were delicious and the dinners too (if you order them)
Staff went above and beyond and delivered a birthday cake for my birthday.
You must try the horse riding, we did 20 min ride around the farm.
Horses are free to roam around the site.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful.
The location and views were amazing.
More mosquitos here than other places however we lit the fire each night and the provided coils which got rid of them easily.

the lodge is kitted out with all modern utensils. there are mosquitoe nets to stop you being bitten and every morning a continental breakfast is delivered to your door. The shower is very hot and powerful and there is nothing you would need. Views are amazing. As most restaurants close at 4pm you can pick a meal which will be placed in your fridge to heat up at your convenience.

This accommodation is easily accessible and still feels relatively ‘off the beaten track’. We absolutely loved it. Even though the pool on top of the hill is relatively small, it has stunning views and plenty seating to spend some time during your stay. The accommodation is clean with good airconditioning and plenty outdoor living space. Each public area (lounge, pool) is fitted with a kettle and free tea, coffee and drinking water is available. In your own accommodation you even get nice ground coffee rather than instant.
Maybe a hammock or two would finish this place off ;) that’s being picky though - there are outdoor sofas! The pool is relatively small so don’t expect to use it for exercise, it’s more of a cool-down pool than anything else.

Extremely peaceful place set in a stunning location with all the facilities to make the stay seem like a home away from homes. Attention to detail is cherry on the top of the cake.
