Buen trato

El trato del personal fue muy bueno y el dueño estaba siempre dispuesto a dar información o ayudarnos con el viaje

Bem localizado, espartano mas muito limpo. Pessoal simpático e disponível.

Boa Localização, pessoal muito simpático. Pequeno-almoço bem servido, sem ser faustoso. O alojamento encontrava-se limpo e acolhedor.

Um pouco mais de conforto seria bem vindo. Fraca ligação à net.

Very convenient

Actually, there are not so many choices where to stay in Tarrafal, Edificio Magico is one of the more convenient. It is an oldish, bit tired place, but everything works well and is clean. I had apartments with a kitchenette, so it is possible to make your own meals. They also provide breakfast – modest but adequate and the breakfast room is on the terrace with a sea view. Service is very friendly and helpful. Location is unbeatable – practically in the centre (though there is not much of Tarrafal anyway) and practically on the beach.

There could have been more plates in the kitchenette.

Not far from the beach

The safety : you are given 4 different keys to have final access to the sleeping room. Large apartment.

Had to pay an extra tax not shown at the time of booking.

Superb

This is a lovely place to stay. With qualitative stuff and a very welcoming host, the B&B is located very convenient, in walking distance from the city center, in a quiet area. The local beach is 2min away. The service is nice and there was someone who waited for us right in the harbour. I would say, this place gives a feeling of home, yet has an European vibe.

Good place with great people

The highlight of Edificio Magico is really the people. First of all Edu (the driver that works with the hotel) was just an incredible man and took me on an island tour one day. Definitely plan an itinerary with Edu if you want the most out of your time on Sao Nicolau. Uri was also phenomenally helpful and even showed me around the non-tourist life one night. I would recommend anyone to stay there.

The location made me a little nervous at first since the guides say that it is the "sketchy" part of town and there were a ton of stray dogs around, but I never had any problems. Sao Nicolau was the quietest, safest island I visited in Cape Verde.

Very poor

Everything is old, looks old, smells old. The walls haven't seen paint in like 25 years. Dust on everything except surfaces that get used daily.

Nice accommodation and nice owner

The house is very good located. You can walk in 5 minutes to the ferry. Even I arrived quite late, the owner Gabriel was waiting for me at the harbour and takes me with his car to the accommodation. There is a very nice rooftop where you can get an excellent breakfast. The internet is very good working and quite fast. The rooms are quite old, but everything is in very good conditions. Gabriel has helped me very good for my trips on the island.

The owner can barely speak no English. But with Google translator and his very kind staff, was a communication in English possible.

Good choice

Edificio Magico is well located in front of the beach and a short walk from the dock and the town where you can find shops and restaurants. I had an apartment with a nice view of the ocean from the balcony, fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, air conditioning, hot water. Breakfast is available upon request. The location is quiet, good for a relaxing stay and as a base to explore the island. The host is ready to provide info and to support the organization of your trip.

The furniture is old fashioned.

A good value hotel with friendly staff

Excellent location just 30 seconds from the water. Gabriele is responsive and helpful. He set up a car to pick us up from the airport and take us back. The space was larger than expected. Lots of chairs and cabinet space to store your things. Hot water was consistent, however it only lasts about 5 minutes in the shower (we couldn’t take back-to-back showers). WiFi was consistently decent after they restarted the router on our second day. Breakfast is hearty, though since it’s 5€ per person we decided to cook for ourselves after the first morning.

Wish there was a hammock or lounge chair on the patio or upper terrace to relax in. For the units without a balcony there’s nothing like this. Recommend upgrading your room to gain this huge benefit. If we closed the bathroom door, the bathroom had a bad smell. The rooms are designed to have air flow, so if left the door open, it kept the air circulating and got rid of the odor. The main bed was two twins mattresses pushed together.

Enjoyed our stay very much.

Gabriele the host and his team are very friendly. If you have a question, ask Gabriele. He nows an answer. Great breakfast with a nice view and located close to the town. Don't miss the Baixo Rocha beach (https://tinyurl.com/sceo6ga) one hour walk southbound.
