About this house rental
This beautiful holiday home is situated in Gouvy, in the Belgian Ardennes region. It was once the grocery store that sold its products to the local population. The location is wonderful, next to the Steinbach church and opposite a renovated castle. By adding many small accents, the owners managed to accentuate the homely look even more. Ideal for a family, there are 9 bedrooms and can accommodate 20 guests. This home has a private swimming pool to take a refreshing dip on a hot summer day. Both at the front and at the back of the house you will find a terrace for sunny summer days. The large rear garden offers something for everyone with a BBQ area, above ground pool, play tower, trampoline and lovely sun lounger.
From the holiday home you have direct access to beautiful nature. There are also hiking trails and mountain bike routes close by. When it snows, there is the possibility of cross-country skiing in the vicinity of Gouvy and throughout the year there are beautiful places to visit, such as Houffalize, La Roche, Durbuy, Bastogne and Clervaux in Luxembourg. Clervaux is located precisely in the valley of the Clerf river, where the surrounding villages are located at the top of the high plains. There are a number of sites to visit in the center. A little higher, you will find the stairs that lead to the castle of Clervaux. A striking white castle which forms the focal point of the village. For nature lovers, the forest lies 2 km away whereas lake is only 3 km from the home. The nearest restaurant is 3 km away. The town centre and grocery store are 7 km from the property.
The former commercial part now houses a very spacious kitchen, equipped with all modern equipment, and an adjacent dining room. The living room consists of two parts: one to sit down with a good glass of amin and another with a lounge area equipped with a television with DVD player. The 4 bathrooms have been completely renovated and, like the 9 bedrooms, they are spread over the first and second floors. However, the sink in the bedrooms is for decorative purpose only. Central heating is installed for a comfortable stay. Parking is available for your convenience. Play equipment and trampoline are provided for the kids.
Check in begins from 4-6 PM and check out is from 9-10 AM.
Due to COVID-19 it is not possible to rent this property to large groups of different households. Max. 5 people from different households.
Bring your charcoal for the barbecue.
For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters
Reservations for groups of persons under 25 years of age are not permitted

We stayed at the house in Gouvy for 3 nights with 16 adults and 5 children (between 1-3). While we did enjoy our stay, we think that there are quite a few things that need improvement.
Positive:
- The bedrooms are very nice and comfortable.
- Kitchen and dining room are very well equipped
- Outside area is nice and large
- Lots of toys for the children
Negative:
- In our opinion the price of almost 4,000€ for 3 nights is way to high and not justified
- Bedlinens, towels, dishtowel etc. were not provided and it was not even possible to rent them. For our group of 20 people from 5 countries it was very difficult to organize bringing that ourselves. And it was not evident during the booking process but only afterwards
- The number of bathrooms and toilets was too small for the number of the people and the locks on some of them didn’t work properly
- On our second night, the fire alarm went off, while we were cooking. This in itself is not a problem and even a good thing, but it was impossible to turn off the alarm for almost an hour! The landlady told us about a sheet of paper with a code, but this was nowhere to be found and the caretaker who lives close by was not helpful either. In the end we found the sheet, which was locked away in one of the closets and only had (very confusing) instructions for unarming the alarm in Dutch. In my opinion this needs to be handled more professionally with easily findable, clear instructions in at least English and French.

Geweldig weekend met vrienden in een gezellig en ruim uitgerust huis. Heel vriendelijke ontvangst, proper huis, voldoende plaats voor de kinderen om samen en apart te kunnen spelen. Ideaal gelegen voor een weekendje ardennen!

Een fijn huis om met een grote groep in te verblijven. Er is zoveel ruimte dat je makkelijk met de hele groep samen kunt zijn maar ook alleen of met een kleiner groepje.

Sehr großzügiges Haus, das sich aufgrund der Aufteilung und der wunderschönen Außenanlage sehr gut für Aufenthalte mit 3-5 Familien eignet. Das Außengelände, das mit seinem Baumbestand viel Schatten bietet, war ideal für Kinder. Die Kommunikation mit der Inhaberin war unkompliziert. Auch der Empfang vor Ort war sehr freundlich und zwanglos.

De ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk. Het huis was zeer netjes en aangenaam ingericht. Handig ingerichte keuken met de nodige voorzieningen en voldoende frigoruimte voor onze grote groep. De tuin en het terras waren netjes onderhouden inclusief 2 BBQ's. Zeer landelijke en rustige omgeving met verschillende wandelroutes in de directe nabijheid (route-info via de eigenaar). Correcte afhandeling tijdens en achteraf ons verblijf.

prachtig mooi huis met een geweldige tuin! wij verbleven een weekend met onze vriendengroep van 15 personen in dit huis. we zijn hartelijk ontvangen met 2 heerlijke flessen streekbier! het huis was schoon en fris en rook erg lekker. wij zijn het hele weekend zeer actief geweest in de omgeving Coo waar we een avonddropping, highrope parcour en death ride, handboogschieten en kanoenen hebben gedaan. de tuin was heerlijk met een goed werkende bbq waar we ook heerlijk gebruik van hebben gemaakt. En de keuken heeft een fantaschie bar waar wij een mooi feestje hebben gevierd! we bevelen dit huis zeker aan!

De ontvangst was heel vriendelijk, het huis viel iets tegen. Op de foto is niet te zien dat de stoelen niet prettig zitten en de banken ook niet erg comfortabel zijn. Verder is het misschien handig om wat meer zenders op de tv te zetten o.a. Ned. Verder was alles prima, goede bedden al zou het handig zijn als de afm. van de bedden bekend zou zijn ivm het beddengoed. We vonden het huis prijstechnisch aan de hoge kant

Een uitstekende ervaring! Een geweldig gerenoveerd huis met prachtige interieur! We hadden afgesproken dat de sleutels ergens verstopt zouden zijn zou dat ik al binnen zou kunnen en dat er later een dame ons een rondleiding zou komen geven. Heel goed gelegen voor wie rust wil en op goede rijafstand van MTB parcours en musea. Apart van het feit dat ik langs mijn kant wat tekort heb gespeeld op de verwachtingen van de eigenares ben ik zeer dankbaar voor hoe alles is afgehandeld.
