About this cottage rental
Relax from the moment you walk through the door. This beautiful traditional Welsh Cottage is perfect to enjoy with family or small groups of friends. Close to Snowdon, Yr Wyddfa, the highest Mountain in Wales and Eryri Snowdonia National Park. In a quiet location on the edge of a small village with a pub and shop near Caernarfon and central to North Wales, Eryri Snowdonia Park, Zip World and Anglesey. Our beautiful Welsh cottage has amazing mountain views of Eryri Snowdonia National Park for you and your family to enjoy (dogs welcome too). Relax with a wood burner, underfloor heating and a large well equipped kitchen, private garden & BBQ.
It's only a short walk to the Welsh Highland Railway and a pub that serves food.
The nearest beach is a 10 minute drive away and we are close to Llanberis, Anglesey and Zipworld.
The cottage is located down a no-through lane and enjoys spectacular views of Mynydd Mawr and Moel Elio from the house, garden and woodland. Outside the cottage has a good sized private garden, parking for up to 4 cars. Closest to the house, across the lane, is a seating area with fire pit that takes in the views and woodland, perfectly placed for enjoying the sun rise or relax with a glass and watch the embers of the fire in the fading evening light. There is a large lockable storage shed for bikes available solely for guests.
The cottage starts with a heated enclosed entrance porch which is ideal for storing and drying out boots and outdoor coats. The house is predominately on one level with only three steps down into the kitchen, unless you venture up into the crog loft! The cottage has both a snug and living room, benefiting from under floor heating, with a wood burner in the living room. Both rooms have 40" flat screen TVs with Netflix. Alternatively there is a bluetooth speaker and CD player. The crog loft is reached via a set of steep wooden stairs and is an ideal space for children and teenagers to escape, there is also a TV. The cottage enjoys WIFI throughout.
The rest of house has central heating to keep you toasty on those colder days, but the house is well insulated and not drafty.
The cottage has a large kitchen diner with a table that will seat ten. The kitchen also has a window seat and settle tucked away in one corner which is ideal for feeding a casual bite to eat, quiet coffee, board games or a jigsaw. There is a dual fuel range cooker, two fridge freezers, dishwasher, microwave, pod coffee machine and plenty of pans, mugs, glasses and crockery. If you prefer your beer out of a pewter tankard, there are also a few of those to hand. To help with cooking there is a DAB radio and docking station in the kitchen.
There is a separate utility room, with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer, and it is also a great place to feed any pets you might wish to bring with you. We are happy for you to bring well behaved pets, but please remember you are surrounded by farming land so they need to be kept under control.
The cottage has three formal bedrooms, two double rooms with king sized beds - one with an ensuite toilet and shower, the third bedroom has two full size single beds. We understand sometimes families are bigger and teenagers want there own space, so there is also a comfortable daybed in the snug opposite the TV, and there are also two single beds in the crog loft ideal for older children. There is a second bathroom with toilet and shower.
There is a village shop stocking a really good selection, including artisan bread. There is a small cafe at Antur Waunfawr. Within ten minutes walk is the Snowdonia Parc pub which is a micro-brewery brewing thirteen different brews, with at least four on at any one time.

Guests raved about this stunning cottage, from the spacious kitchen to the beautiful garden views. Perfect for families and friends looking to explore Snowdonia and North Wales.

Our group consisted 2 families who stayed for the weekend. The cottage is amazing, especially for families for whom it is very well catered with lots of books and games and secret spaces to play in. Also really well stocked with a plentiful supply of crockery, kitchen supplies etc, great communal spaces and a lovely garden.
2 of our group did an ultramarathon on the Saturday so didn’t get to spend as much time in the cottage as we would have liked, but it was a welcome place to return to after a long day out and I would love to return and spend more time there.

A group of 10 of us travelled from Newcastle under lyme to do Newborough Forest parkrun and climb Snowdon.
Cottage was absolutely stunning. Immaculate, cosy and with everything you need. Just perfect.

This was one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed at. Spotlessly clean, modern with old world charm and comfortable. Beautiful views from the garden where we enjoyed our breakfast every morning. The hosts have thought of everything to make our stay the best it could be. Very well placed for touring around and within walking distance of a fab pub. Perfect for us all and our 2 dogs. If you are thinking of booking you absolutely won’t be disappointed 😊

Fabulous modernised stone cottage. Huge spacious kitchen, very well equipped and large enough to socialise whilst cooking. Lots of interesting quirky cottage features in the modernised older part.

Just book it! That's my best advice! Six of us, who travel together often around the world, stayed at TYW for a week and from the moment we set foot in the cottage, spent a week talking about how much we love it there. The scenery is amazing and the walks on the footpaths down the road (each way) were full of vistas, sheep and mountains that are beyond picturesque. The house itself is a perfect base for exploring Snowdonia and all of North Wales. Angharad was terrific to work with. She even found us a chef to come into the cottage and cook for our friend's 50th birthday celebration (I highly recommend Justin. Ask Angharad about this). Angharad's recommendations for walks off the beaten path, restaurants and little day trips were perfect and she was more than happy to oblige. She was probably one of the most responsive VRBO owners I've ever dealt with. On some rainy mornings, we sat around the living room which is just loaded with comfort. The snug, the bedrooms and the incredibly large and well appointed kitchen made this house unique, homey and it is full of little decorations that had us constantly saying "we didn't notice this yesterday". I highly recommend this house and this area for your vacation.

Beautiful maze of a cottage, stunning views! Everything you could ever need is provided, lots of space and the children said it was the best house for playing hide and seek haha! Caernarfon is only a 10 minute drive away and Bangor 20 minutes. Only a Small shop nearby but only sells the necessities so a car is definitely needed if staying here. The kitchen is beautifully set out for family meals and entertaining, the children loved staying here, especially in the crog loft! Thank you angharad and Matt for a lovely stay and for always being on hand for any questions! Hope to stay again one day :-)

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming cottage. It has everything you could possibly need for a great holiday. the layout is very spacious yet every room felt warm and cozy. The kitchen dining area is the best equipped one I have every stayed in. Wake up to stunning views and enjoy a cuppa in the comfy window seat.

a perfect cottage for our perfect family holiday
This cottage was beautifully appointed yet retained a charming quaintness. It comfortably accommodated 6 adults and 2 children, and my grand-kids loved the attic room, which has been organized for children. We spent a lot of family time in the lovely kitchen with its spectacular vies of nearby hills. Angharad, who owns the cottage, was readily reached and provided ready support when needed.
The cottage is also located in Waunfawr which was within easy reach of Caernarfon, Zipworld sites, Greenwood Family Farm, Anglesey and Snowdonia Mountain train.
In short, I would recommend this cottage to any family or friends
planning to visit North Wales.

Breathtaking
Oh my gosh!! This place exceeded all expectations!! It was amazing, like a tardis with amazing spaces around every corner! Beautiful extremely well equipped kitchen, great living room and seating area, lovely big garden for the summer (it rained the whole time we were there) perfect location for start of walking Snowdon only 20 mins away, as was a beautiful beach. Communication was great! Honestly couldn’t rave about this place enough!!

Lovely place, poor communication
Booking this cottage was so easy and Angharad was so nice and welcoming in her first emails.
Unfortunately this has changed when we needed a warmer cottage.
After the first night, I had to call Angharad because it was really cold in the cottage and, as per the visitors information file, I have called to ask if we can do something about this.
We also had a pregnat women in our group and she said that when she checked the thermostat at night as she was so cold that she could not sleep, the heating was off.
The radiators from the bathrooms or bedrooms were allways off and the only source of heating was the wood burner from the living room, which was used only during the day therefore not really helpful.
When I called and asked for a solution to our problem, Angharad was just telling me about how this could not be possible, because in 5 years no one made a complaint about this and she can check the temperature in the house and its impossible for us to not like the temperature.
After keep trying to explain that it is not a good temperature for us and she kept interrupting me, I had to talk over her so that I can finish my sentence but guess what... she hung up on me.
She emailed me later telling me that the best she can do is to set the temperature on 20 degrees at night and 23 during the day and if this is not enough we are free to leave and she will make a full refund.
I would have left in that minute just because how disrespectful and unhelpful the owner was but after planning this holiday with my friends and familly with various activities, if we would have left we would lose another full day (at least) to find a house for 8 people, therefore we stayed and tried to do the best with what we had.
We noticed that at night, the temperature was still at 18 degrees during our stay but at this point, I knew she will just not help us and tell us that our preferences do not matter as other guests never complained about the temperature.
In our first day, we were happy that the parking has cameras and our car will be safe but it appears this is used to monitor when you get home and when you are leaving, as the owner was able to tell me the exact hour when we came back from lunch, so if you don't care for privacy this should not be an issue.
The house is indeed fully equipped and it is a lovely place to spend time with family and friends. It is also close to a lot of fun and beautiful places( which we have visited)
But our experience with the owner...-_-

Beautiful Cottage in the most Beautiful Surroundings.
This was our first experience holidaying with vrbo.com and it’s been a great one.
Our hosts were incredibly helpful, the cottage absolutely stunning, the photos only give a glimpse of its character.
The surrounding area is beautiful. We ventured to Beddgelert, Portmadog, Pwllheli, Caernarfon, Anglesey, Portmeirion and the summit of Snowdon while staying.
After not being able to holiday together for over 2 years, we had the most amazing stay, unforgettable memories made!
We were sad to leave and hope to return.
Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Thank you for the experience; although a slight hitch with the doors, we had a fantastic time in this beautiful property. Pub and shop in walking distance and great walking straight out the door. I would highly recommend this property

Most wonderful stay at a beautiful cottage
We had a truly magical time at the cottage. It is ideally located to explore the mountains as well as the coast line. The cottage is spacious, luxurious and one can feel the love that was put into it. Communication with Angharad was superb.
We hope we can stay there again at one point.

3 generation holiday
An exceptionally well equipped property with flexible sleeping arrangements that appealed to our primary school and teenage children. It was also easy to keep our dog within the appropriate areas of the house and garden. Angharad was a great host and very quick to respond to any questions we had. The area lends itself perfectly to a multi activity holiday - we often did different activities during the day and ate together at home in the evening. Beach, mountains, pretty villages, castles, zip wires and Surf Snowdonia are all within easy reach - it diesn’t Get better than this.

Stop scrolling. Book this cottage!
Hands down best rental cottage we’ve ever stayed in. From having everything you need to the gorgeous decor and layout (quirky and fun!) this cottage is just a delight. The view from the window seat is spectacular. Our 12yo loved relaxing in the Croft room, watching films and chilling out with a book. The deep bath (and wall mural) was heaven after long days walking and climbing. We enjoyed sitting in the sun chatting to the sheep in the field behind with a sundowner while the kids kicked a football around (to each other, no plants were damaged!) in the lovely garden. There’s a double fridge which was great for storing lots of drinks or if you’re going as two families. The beds are very comfortable.
Angharad kept in touch with us - we had to reschedule twice due to lock downs - and made sure everything was ok during our visit too. Really lovely, friendly woman.
Caernarfon is less than 15 mins away if you need to pop to Tesco.
We had some lovely lunches out - The Heights in Llanberis and Y Stablau in Betws y Coed are worth a visit. We also bought some lovely cheese from the deli opposite Harlech Castle. There was a makers market in Beaumaris when went, bought some Anglesey Gin which I haven’t tried but I expect it’s really good! The castle is lovely - you can do the whole thing in around an hour.
Best ice cream was at Portmeirion.

A stunning cottage in a fantastic location. Highly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful cottage. It's got everything you'd want for all the family and is in a simply wonderful location - perfect for exploring all Snowdonia has to offer. Angharad was very easy to contact as we navigated the uncertainties of COVID and we were so pleased our stay was able to happen. I'm sure we'll be back!

We stayed at the cottage for the 2nd time for my partners birthday. We absolutely love this place it really is a welcoming home from home. The house has everything you need in a perfect location. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to the current Covid19 situation. But we are looking forward to returning as soon as possible. Fantastic place that we will be returning to again and again! Thank you. Lee, Aisha &Enzo

Magical Welsh Escape
This home is something out of a fairytale! The area is stunning and sipping coffee in the beautiful kitchen while looking out the window, you feel like you’re in some holiday movie! The nooks and crannies of this place are filled with charm and surprises. The kids didn’t want to leave and fully claimed the roof den as their own! So much attention to detail, I could ramble on and on about this property but you’ll have to see and experience it for yourself to truly understand! Angharad is lovely and easy to communicate with, I can’t wait to return and show off this home to more of my family!

Lovely house and great location in Snowdonia
We were two families staying for October half term. We were blessed with great weather but the location with a good local pub and shop and near to both Snowdon and other mountains to climb and the coast too
The property is well presented, clean and ample space. The kitchen is a delight and caters well for a couple of families.
Thank you for a great holiday

Top Spec Snowdonian Retreat
We just had a really great autumn week at Tyn Y Weirglodd.
The cottage is located in the village of Waunfawr, You are on the edge of the National Park and have easy access to mountains, lakes and the incredible beaches on Anglesey. The house sits on a quiet lane on the edge of the village and looks out upon the Snowdownia's brooding hills.
Photos don't do this justice. The owners have invested a lot of time and energy to make TYW a great experience. This is a really high quality holiday cottage (probably the best we have been too) and the owners have concentrated on style over profit! There are plenty of board games and books and local guides - you can just turn up and relax.
Size wise - we are a family of 6 and had plenty of room to find our own space. It could accommodate two families and the crog loft could definitely be used a bunk for two older children.
Would I recommend this cottage to others or stay here again?...Yes, in a heartbeat!

Simply fabulous!
We booked this beautiful cottage for a weekend as a group of friends to walk and with my father to celebrate his 80th birthday, we had such a wonderful time! Angharad made the trip so easy, check in process was seamless and the cottage was absolutely stunning, comfortable and warm with everything we could need and more. We just wish we could have stayed longer! We will be booking again as it's the perfect luxurious base in the mountains. Thank you Angharad!

Overall the property was excellent. Could use a little TLC, especially the weeds which are currently threatening to take it over. Great little cottage, with a very good kitchen.

Beautiful Property!
Home is in a quiet area with beautiful views and lots of nice footpaths nearby. The house is well updated and can easily accommodate larger groups. My group only had 3 so there was plenty of room to spare. Everything was comfortable. There were several local points of interest we wanted to see and the owner was very helpful with providing info on how to get there. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful, spacious cottage, perfect base for exploring .
Spacious, comfortable and has everything we needed already at the property, really just had to bring ourselves.
Only negative for us was a slightly overgrown garden, which I think is for the goodness of nature.

Thank you once again.

An amazing stay in a beautiful cottage, ideally situated to explore both mountains and coastline. Plenty of room for the 5 of us and the dog, we kept losing each other!
