About this house rental
Fyloma is located in the village of Lafkos about eighty meters from the central square with panoramic views of Pagasitikos Gulf. You can access Fyloma through the traditional streets of the village surrounded with old well preserved houses, isolated from any vehicle noise. The Guest House is situated in a 3 storey L-shaped building which was approximately built at the end of 19th century. There is a yard between the two segments of the building surrounded by a traditional stone paddock.
The entrance of the guest house is through the old wooden gate the visitor finds its self in a beautiful courtyard, which is covered with stone slates and has the natural shade of trees. In the same area the visitors can use the fully equipped kitchen with the traditional oven and use the shared breakfast area or enjoy a snack or a beverage.
The main body of the building (visible wooden ceilings, exterior and interior stone walls) has been repaired and strengthened in the early nineties. During the renovation a big amount of the old materials were maintained and reused such as: stone, wooden roof beams, wooden staircase with all its ornaments, old wooden gate and entrance door with original lock and old traditional key(20cm long), and the stone oven in the kitchen. All the above form a unique sensation for the visitor who can really experience a building which was built more than a century ago.
Therefore the building and its architecture differs from the majority of the respective buildings that are either new construction with imitation of the architectural trends of the past or old buildings with obvious interventions and additions to the reconstruction.
In the three-storey part of the building there are five rooms, each with its own distinctive character, without similarities between them. Two rooms on the ground floor, two on the first floor and one on the second floor, where there is also a large communal living room with balcony from where the view of Pagasitikos and the sunset is stunning.
