I really liked the hospitality of the owner and all staff. The rooms are clean, excellent breakfast and lovely view of Fort from roof top. The location is also very central and nearby to most of the monuments and Jaisalmer fort is just one minute walk from the Hotel. Overall a very good experience.

Really a good choice in Jaisalmer, right in city center with all monuments walking distance. Highly recommend the terrace with Fort view and excellent breakfast. Owner help arranging cars for pick up and drop to airport which was really helpful. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and shower was warm water made my stay comfortable. Book ahead you won't regret.

We loved our three days stay at Shanti Home, the building itself was like a little Haveli and the rooms are very clean and staff was very attentive. We loved delicious breakfast with amazing view of fort and sunlight. Prathmesh the owner helped us arranging local transport and airport pick up and drop. You must try their non touristic camel safari rather then tented safari in crowded Sam sand dunes.
Everything was perfect.

Nicely decorated hotel with very warm and hospitable team. The terrace was cozy with superb view of Fort and decor of the place was very stylish. Hotel also offers camel safari tours. Recommended to all visitors visiting Jaisalmer.

Just 1 minute walking distance from the Fort with friendly staff and great roof top view of The Fort. Our room was very clean and with lots of space and solid furniture, especially we loved the well designed bathroom made up with local sandstone marble with separate shower area. Gem in the heart of town.

Our stay at the Hotel Shanti home has been great. Our train was delayed on arriving into Jaisalmer but Lala was waiting to welcome us into his home. We had tea and biscuits before bed! Due to the weather conditions the AC was a little temperamental but Lala was quick to accommodate us and moved us to another room, no hassle!
Lala invited to take us around the Fort and local Haveli. He was so knowledgable about the local area, the history and the architecture. It was a fantastic tour and if you have the time or opportunity, I highly recommend taking him up on his offer! We loved the location of the Shanti House too - it was great being so close to the Fort, the Lake and the Haveli as well as great cafes and eateries!
Lala and his brother were also so helpful in arranging a trip to the desert for us. As we had very little time in Jaisalmer we had some specific requirements to meet and the team were great at getting us out into the desert. It was such a memorable trip and we loved that it was someone the family have known for so long.
The beds were so comfortable and although not a lot of space in the Deluxe Double room it was perfect for what we needed. The rooftop space was amazing, we loved having breakfast surrounded by the beautiful colours and cushions as well as fantastic views. We also spent our evenings here too. Breakfast foods were great!

Location is good for all activities, bed was very comfortable, very clean and very helpful host - he will help you any way he can (my friend needed a train ticket and that was arranged super quickly!)
Be aware that the cheaper rooms don’t have windows (at least in my case).
The hotel could do with a new set of towels.
in the bathroom some more hooks or boards for placing items would have been helpful.

Clean, perfect location and very charming.
The owners are great and really accommodated all kinds of requests. Let them advice you on the best camel safaris and spots to eat. If they are available they can also organise a lovely city tour for you. Well recommended to stay here!

We went back to stay at Shanti Home after being in the desert and they had our rooms and hot water ready even though it was before check in time. Lala's brother gave us a tour of the fort the next day and was a really knowledgeable and relaxed guide, showing us round the town he grew up in and showing us the inside of his 200 year (or more) family home inside the fort walls. Would definitely recommend having him showing you around and explaining the meanings in the local art work which is everywhere.

One of the best experience in our life. Lala is a wonderful host and person. He make everything possible. The guesthouse is beautiful, the food is fresh and delicious and there is an amazing roof top with a view on the fort. If you want you can do a private camel safari with his staff and you will pass a incredible moment. Thanks again at Shanti Home and Lala !

Really quiet room with super comfortable beds (not usually in India). The roof top was amazing with view of Fort, it is very special with light in the fort. Owner and Staff were friendly and owner also arranged a camel safari for us which was fantastic experience. I loved the place and will surely return.

Location was great just outside the walls of the fort and rooftop restaurant was very chilled with nice breakfasts. The pancakes were particularly good 😋
Best thing though was the staff. We were looked after so well by the brothers who went above and beyond to help us out - once with a phone call we needed to make to France and a second time when we were trying to watch the 6 Nations rugby. They also arranged a wonderful private sunset trip into the desert with a driver (Kabir) and camel driver (Baryam) who both spoke great English and were just great. As promised we were away from any other tourists and got to experience a beautiful sunset on the dunes with food amazingly cooked from scratch by Kabir over a fire - chai, pakora, chapatis and vegetable daal. It was fabulous.

My room was spacious on the top floor and was really comfortable with all necessary furniture. The owner also arranged a nice evening desert trip and it was amazing, enjoyed the sunset in peaceful desert. On my last day they also served me breakfast much earlier then their regular timing as I had a taxi for Ahmadabad. I was very happy with all there services and behavior.

We are happy that we found this lovely boutique hotel and that too at a very central location. The owner and staff were friendly and reliable. They also arranged a early morning airport drop at 6:30am which was really easy and helpful. We will definitely recommend this accommodation.
Great work, keep it up.

Highly recommended hotel with extremely friendly owner. We forgot our one beg at hotel on departure to airport but he genuinely brought and give it back. We found best hospitality and welcomed at Shanti Home. Also the fort view from roof terrace was best we saw in Jaisalmer.
We loved it.

Shanti Home is an honest, friendly and great-value accommodation that I would totally recommend. Here's why:
1. The hosts. Brothers Lala and Chimmy run the business and will bend over backwards to help you. Chimmy arranged a free autorickshaw pickup for us from the train station. We were primarily hosted by Lala, who has excellent English and is a great conversationalist. He loves history and Rajasthani culture and so he is very informative and engaging, allowing guests to fully appreciate Jaisalmer. He is also very honest and transparent, especially regarding costs and pricing. He gets up early every morning to ensure there is hot water and breakfast, and he is so considerate and quiet in order not to wake anyone up.
2. The food. Lala is also an excellent cook, and serves an inclusive breakfast every morning. He will take into account and remember your preferences (e.g. spicy/non-spicy), and will allow you to taste authentic Rajasthani cuisine. The poha was the best thing I've eaten after 5 weeks in India. He also cooks a-la-carte lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. There was no fixed menu during our stay as the restaurant was not fully operational, but simply let Lala know with a couple of hours' notice that you plan on eating there, and he will cook up pretty much anything you want. I do recommend the cheese and tomato naan.
3. The location. The rooftop terrace has two seating areas, both comfortable and the upper one has sublime views of Jaisalmer Fort. Around the corner from Shanti Home are several good restaurants, as well as well-stocked stores for drinks and snacks. It is also less than 5 minutes walk to the entrance of the fort or to an ATM.
4. The building. The Shanti Home building itself is hundreds of years old, and Lala and Chimmy have done a great job of preserving its antique style whilst also sprucing it up with paint and decorative art. The building is well-ventilated due to metal grilles in the floor.
5. The Wi-Fi.
At this price, very small things which aren't worth mentioning. I must point out that the Lonely Planet guide says there is an ATM on the premises, but there isn't. Nor is the Flavours restaurant fully open, but it will be soon. Also, during the Covid pandemic, the card payment facility at the property was removed due to lack of custom. Lala says they will be renewing the contract again soon, but at the time of writing it is cash payment only. Lastly, there was no window in our room, but it was ventilated enough and the rooftop terrace made up for it.

Beautifully decorated and well managed hotel at stone throw distance from Jaisalmer Fort. Roof top with cushioned seats and mesmerizing view of fort and sunrise. Excellent breakfast and perfect hot shower.

Exceptionally friendly staff and very hygienic and tasty food especially the breakfast. The location is just next to the fort and main market and the view from roof top of Jaisalmer Fort is mesmerizing. Bed was really clean and comfortable and the bathroom has good hot shower. Would definitely recommend this little hotel.

The rooms are nice and clean, like in the picture. The host Lala is very friendly. He takes care of you and explains everything about Jaisalmer, the desert and how life in India works. He makes you feel like you are a family member.
The food he prepares is also very good.
We made a desert tour with his company Amrit Travels. It was really cool that the tour is very flexible and you can choose what you want to see and how long you want to stay on the different destinations.
nothing to complain

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. The room was clean, air conditioned and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner we had at shanti home, especially the pakodas - they even had vegan options on the menu including a vegan omelet! The staff were accommodating and offered brilliant suggestions, including jai Lakshmi guesthouse for massages

The most special thing about this hotel are beautiful details decoreting the interiors. I loved that! Its creates a really nice vibe inside the rooms.
Food on the rooftop with the view of the fort was also very good - always fresh & tasty.
Lala and Satar took great care so we felt like at home. They showed great mixture of profesionalism, hospitality & friendliness which made our stay very comfortable.
Location is very central: 5 minute walk to the market, fort or lake. And even a good gym(hercules).
