Approached by a narrow, short lane, beautiful Bank Cottage is but 20 metres from the River Severn. There are spectacular views to be seen across the river and the flood plain opposite, particularly from the patio, lounge and front facing rooms. It's like looking at your own personal Constable picture! Peace and tranquillity.
The cottage is over 250 years old, and formerly used by the local ferry man to get people across the river. A number of original features have been kept, adding to its charm. These include exposed oak beams, old style doors with lift-up latches upstairs, and a small inglenook with a log burner in the cosy second lounge at the back of the house.
The garden runs parallel to the river, providing 70 metres of fishing and mooring rights. A jetty has been constructed with safe access down to the water's edge, along with a slipway. Bring your own canoe or small boat!
The cottage and its location are ideal for all wild-life enthusiasts, bird watchers and fishermen. In fact, fishermen could literally cast a line from the balcony if they so wished! You need your own fishing permit. Fishing season is 16 June-16 March. No fishing permitted out of season. Heavy fines and equipment confiscated.
On holiday here, you may want to just sit on the terrace and relax, read, or look at the view, perhaps waving to people on boats as they pass by. It is so peaceful and relaxing.
On the other hand, for those who enjoy exploring new areas, there is a lot of choice. The Malvern Hills are great for walkers and ramblers. Upton upon Severn and Worcester are both only a short drive away. Upton hosts various festivals, including the world renowned Upton Jazz Festival. The historic city of Worcester is well worth a visit. The Three Counties Show ground, only 4 miles away, also hosts many well known annual events. The Morgan car factory is 10 minutes' by car.
It is a 4 bedroom cottage but the fourth bedroom as a locked store room for landlord's needs. The holiday accommodation is arranged as follows:-
Master bedroom ('wow' room as it spectacularly overlooks the river) has a double bed.
The second bedroom is a large room and also overlooks the river and has three single beds. There is a lot of free floor space in this room which would possibly be useful for a cot. We can provide a cot and/or travel cot. We also have a high chair.
The third bedroom, also a large room, has a double bed and a large single sofa bed. There is room for a cot in all bedrooms . There is a large family bathroom with walk in shower cubicle and separate bath. All rooms are furnished to a high standard.
The cottage is suitable for 8 people but as you can see, with 5 beds and one sofa bed, there is ample flexibility with the bedding arrangements.
We have a balcony overlooking the river and this is accessed from the 'summer lounge' with its reclining leather suite. This lounge is open plan with the dining room containing a large oak dining table and chairs for 8 people. The kitchen is also open plan to this, and has an island breakfast bar that accommodates seven bar stools, and is fully fitted with all appliances. It also has a utility area, with a washing machine and also a downstairs WC with wash basin. This leads to the second lounge (we call it the 'winter lounge') has an inglenook fireplace with log burner and another reclining leather suite. This is a very cosy room. There is full central heating, and an ample supply of seasoned logs is provided.
There is a large balcony with table and chairs for 8 people. Its proximity to the river and the stunning views makes it one of the the main features of the property. There are also two other patio areas and a large lawn. A gas barbecue is also provided.
There is a TV in each of the two lounges, the kitchen and two of the bedrooms and there is free WIFI access.
There is easy parking for at least four cars.

Bank Cottage was a great spot for our family to stay the weekend. We loved the spot on the river and the garden was safe for our little ones. We didn’t have to worry about anyone falling in the Severn!
The cooking and dining facilities were fine and we enjoyed the sitting area overlooking the patio. The sitting room at the back of the property was rather dark and we didn’t use it but I can imagine it being a cosy space in winter.
As mentioned by a previous guest there was a smell of oil/fuel of some sort which worried me slightly but no one suffered any ill effects.
We would happily return to enjoy this beautiful spot again.

Enjoyed a short break with family, fantastic location right on the banks of the river. Lots to do within a short drive of the property. Would definitely recommend.

Location, wow - beautiful vistas, lovely gardens, lovely cottage. Inside is also very nice indeed, well appointed and comfortable - only negative there was that there was a bit of a paraffin smell near the boiler, not sure if there had been a spillage. Otherwise great and extremely convenient for the RHS show.
We cooked, we BBQd, we ate on the deck, we watch the wildlife. Alpaca farm is a short walk and was a lovely little trip for brekkie and animal watching.
We will be back! Thanks Alison :)

The location of the property is amazing, right on the bank of the River Severn which meant the television was never turned on.
This historic house is spacious, there was seven of us staying, a great layout and very comfy.
Our host Alison provided great communication, made sure we had arrived OK and that all was well upon our arrival.
The house was clean and homely with a lovely surprise of a cake and milk in the fridge.
If you're looking for a peaceful break in a stunning location then we would highly recommend it.

Bank Cottage is ideal for a relaxing holiday. I spent all week fishing very successfully and the wife was more than happy to relax in the comfortable cottage and peaceful surroundings. A perfect week for both of us.

This is a lovely location, looking right over the river. It would have been much nicer if the weather was better when we were there! The communication from the owner was very good, and they were kind enough to leave a cake. A couple of slight glitches - a slow leak to the toilet, and the blind in the triple bedroom was broken and so we had to hook it up, but all most enjoyable. We'd come again.

We had a brilliant stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed and more, the location was amazing and we really enjoyed our stay. Our host Alison communicated well with us and the delicious cake let for our arrival was really welcoming. We would definitely recommend.

This stay has been long awaited and did not disappoint. The setting is idyllic ( I love the River Severn). Well over 50 kingfisher sightings plus cormorants, herons, buzzards, swans etc. No fish for us this time, but it's called fishing, not catching!
Alison could not have been more thoughtful and even left a cake for my birthday.

Upon arrival at the property we were blown away by the location and the view. Within 5-10 minutes of being sat outside we saw kingfishers flying upstream ( this became a regular occurrence throughout our stay).
As the weather was very hot while we were there the fishing was very slow through the day but if you make the effort and get up early you will be rewarded with much better fishing. We caught Bream, pike, perch, roach, bleak and chub.
Would definitely return at a later date and highly recommend.

This is a marvellous, well equipped property, right on the river with a pleasant walking route (not long) along the riverbank to the North. It is a short drive to Great Malvern and the Malvern Hills and there is a good choice of nearby options to eat out. The cottage is warm and very comfortable - and I recommend it if you're looking for pleasant, relaxing accommodation close to the Malverns.

Beautiful location
We had a lovely short break with friends at Bank Cottage. On arriving we were worried about being cold as the place was freezing but once we got the central heating on and lit the wood burner the place was very warm and comfortable. The welcome cake was a lovely bonus. Enjoyed watching the birds and walking.

Had a fantastic winter getaway at banks cottage!
Our family spent 10 days at banks cottage in the middle of January for a winter getaway from London. Firstly the cottage is really beautiful and clean and is equipped with everything you need. As you can imagine is was freezing that time of year but the cottage was nice and toasty with the fire place and central heating going! The surrounding countryside was full of wildlife and my son enjoyed some great fishing right outside the cottage. Also some great walks nearby and lots of pubs within short driving distance. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Thanks again Alison

From the minute we booked the cottage, the communication from the owner was great. On arrival small messages and cake were left (along with the essentials) which was a great surprise. Small things made the difference, such as pre lining the baking trays. On departure, the owners checked to make sure everything was ok too. We had a great stay with amazing views in a very quiet secluded location. Many thanks for a relaxing stay and great start to the new year!

Peaceful fishing break in tranquil setting
Beautiful riverside cottage in picturesque location on the banks of the Severn. The host, Alison, was very welcoming and informative, making the holiday a relaxing experience. The cottage is very well equipped and ideally suited for the angler or outdoor enthusiast. Ideally placed for exploring the Malvern hills or going further afield but there are short walks nearby and an abundance of wildlife can be seen from the cottage

Great location, superbly equipped property
A great long weekend spent at Bank Cottage. Great location with lots of private fishing. The property itself is very well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Excellent location with great fishing from the garden. Lovely views of the river from one of the sitting rooms and breakfast area. Log burning fire with free wood for when it's cold was a bonus. The house has everything you need for self catering including utensils and crockery. Tea and coffee was provided along with an amazing cake as a welcome gift. Communication with the owner was great and we were made to feel at home from the off. The grounds the house sits in are lovely and well maintained. We loved our break here and would definitely return.

Lovely little cottage for a short getaway
Me and my friends were looking for an isolated property in the country so we could get away from the hassles of work and COVID and this cottage Alison has lived up to that billing!
It was incredibly clean and presented when we arrived and was easy to maintain! A very homely cottage that did feel like a second home for us.
The location was lovely with a short drive / taxi to the city of Worcester and a good selection of pubs on offer which were walking distance! Overall a very lovely place which we may soon come back to.
Alison also left us a lovely welcome surprise and was easy to get in touch if we had any questions about the property! A very lovely host.
Would 100% recommend 😊

This is a beautiful large Cottage. Everything that may be needed (and more) was thoughtfully provided by the Owner Alison, plus a lovely welcoming gift on arrival, much appreciated. Very clean and comfortable. (Even electric fans are available in case they should be needed). The garden is big and secure. Immediately outside the garden is a pleasant path, which is ideal for walking dogs. The river runs just beyond this, and lovely for watching boats cruising along. Fishing can also be enjoyed from a private mooring. A perfect and relaxing holiday.

Incredible location ...
Wow what an amazing house right on the banks of the River Severn. Great dog walks from the front of the house and the enclosed garden ensured Biccie and Jim had the holiday of their lives. It is so quiet and peaceful, nature lovers will adore it - plus a lovely log fire in the evenings too so it was super cosy. There was just the two of us plus two doggies but you could take a large family here as there are two lounges and loads of outdoor seating too. Thanks to Alison for all the communication leading up to our arrival. We rented a boat from Upton Marina which was great as we then went as far as the house by river too - great morning's adventure.

Short stay
Such a beautiful place to stay. The children loved watching the boats go by, and a family of swans cake to say hello! Aside from the beautiful scenery, the cottage was immaculate, and the communication from the owner, Alison, was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble! I would definitely stay again.
