About this villa rental

Beautiful villa situated on the side of a mountain with panoramic views of the sea and mountains from every room. Walking distance of the historic town of Almunecar, sea and aqua parc. (Approx. 200 metres to beach from villa!) The villa is very big and can easily accommodate two families. There is enough space for people to spend time together or spread out around the villa with numerous balconies and terraces (shaded or sunny) all with panoramic views. The perfect place to sit and read or just relax with a glass of wine. The villa also has a gym/table tennis room. The swimming pool is situated immediately opposite the villa on a lower level. The pool is shared but is normally extremely quiet.

This is a lovely large Villa which was perfect for us as we were 3 families holidaying together. Plenty of outdoor space and the shared pool (although we were the only ones in it) was well kept and a good size for swimming and diving. It's a 10 min walk down a steep hill to the town. Very manageable, but if you struggle then there are plenty of taxis around for a lift back up (7 Euros). Lovely area - very spanish which was great. Almunicar is a 20 min walk along the beach front. A larger town with lots going on. We stayed for 2 weeks with no transport and managed just fine, as long as you are happy to walk up and down hills. Please note - there are lots of ants! Sounds a common thing in the area, but the Villa was infested. Ant powder did the trick, but you really can't leave any food anywhere other than in the fridge or it will be covered with them. On the plus side - mosquitos were a minimum which was a god send. A happy trade off!

We have spent many years as a large family group holidaying in Villas around Andalucia, though this was our fist visit, as a family, to Almunecar. From the minute we enquired about the villa to the time we arrived, June was helpful, courteous and prompt in all her communications with us. the villa itself is wonderful. its very large with amazing terraces and views over the Mediterranean. there was easy enough space for our large group (9 adults) in the house and on the terraces. the villa is well equipped, it had everything we needed. A special mention for the ice dispenser on one of the two fridges, which ensured our sangria was always well chilled whilst we watched the sunset over the med.. the kitchen was a little well used in places, but no more than any other villa we have stayed in (its a holiday home!!!) We, of course, used the bbq more than the kitchen :) the villa is located at the top of a hill, so as has been said a car is important if you intend to get supplies from one of the many local supermarkets. there are a couple of walks down into town, one was pretty easy (our 70+ year old parents managed it without issue), you can then walk along the beach into Almunecar. the walk directly into Almunecar was a little more strenuous, but was easily manageable. we never attempted the walk back.. but finding a taxi in town was easy, cheap and took only 5 mins. Almunecar is a great town, and has a little something for everyone, lots of small winding streets in the old town, with typical and authentic Spanish bars (with free tapas!), shops and restaurants. Lots of beach bars serving amazing food directly on any of the beaches, and some more lively spots for the younger members of our group. There is lots to see, including Parks and live music, an Aquarium, and even a Castle! its definitely feels more authentic than many of the other places we have been, and we cannot wait to return We would all definitely recommend June and Ron's Villa...and Almunecar

Villa Mimosa is a nice property. We enjoyed our stay, however, the property is long in the tooth and getting on the shop worn side. The view of the Med is super and I have written the owners and made some suggestions to improve the experience.

We have stayed in this fantastic villa this last august, from 17th to 30th. The experience of spending two weeks of our vacation there has been wonderful, just like the last 3 consecutive years we’ve been renting this house. The situation is unbeatable, the same as the house itself (special mention to the enormous terrace, the amazing sea view from the balconies and almost all the bedrooms, and also to the comfortable living room) and the peaceful atmosphere that has allowed us to make the most of our holidays and find the relaxing time we had been looking for. The easiness for booking and for solving any problem related to the duration of our staying, the cleaning and other facts such as the inclusion of additional beds is definitely another important factor that has made us choose this villa the last 4 years (and some more in the future, we hope). Due to all these things, we sincerely recommend this house to people looking for spending a relaxing vacation time and enjoying a beautiful and lively small town as Almuñecar at the same time.

The villa is in a stunning location and initially would have been as described , however , due to lack of investment the villa is in great need of refurbishment even to the point of numerous light bulbs require replacing. The villa is actually two villa's in one. The first impression was not good with dead flowerbeds and very rusty gates. The villa had been repainted but paint was peeling off doors and shutters and gates hadn't been painted, plus dead flowerbeds, giving an uncared for impression The kitchen was very small and most unpleasant . It contained Filthy utensils Dirty Cutlery Fowl smelling drawers Ant infested cupboards Water damaged units The bedrooms were not clean, one smelt badly of cats, all except one had lots of ants (some nights in the beds). The bathrooms were again in need of attention with rusty baths and water damaged units.(one had no light bulbs) The balcony/terrace/patio had dangerously damaged furniture and exposed electrics. Not very relaxing with young children. The walk to the seafront ,shops and restaurants was via a very steep hill and only really for fit people so a car is necessary. The shared pool was very good but had no sun beds or shades. Overall I felt cheated due to the run down state of Villa Mimosa. I have never yet in 45 years of travel stayed in a place as bad as this and certainly would not recommend this to anyone. Stay away.

Just finished (unfortunately) our holidays in Villa Mimosa; we are a group of friends used to spend holidays in this type of villas ands I can say that it is really a nice location, excellent position well equipped;we spend the holiday in august, so not in the best period, but the position gives the possibility to appreciate the quiet of the place, but very close to the life of Almunecar. A special word for the professionalism of the owner able to sort out an important issue that occurred quickly and with elegance. A suggestion to improve: an additional wash basin (maybe external) and a different cooker; the full electric one is a limit Overall I would recommend Villa Mimosa to other friend

We are just back from a lovely stay at Villa Mimosa. We went with 10 people, at our arrival there was a pleasant surprise, several bottles wine and some cheese where waiting for us as a welcome surprise. There are 6 bedrooms, 5 of them have a balcony. Also 5 bad rooms is very conveniently. The terrace is huge, plenty room. We stayed from 26-9-2008 till 03-10-2008 lovely weather and nice views. You need a car, the villa is situated on a hill. We have enjoined our stay en will recommend this villa for party’s who are looking for a luxury villa in a nice surrounding. Ton and friends.

I wish to say how much we enjoyed staying at the Villa Mimosa - it was perfect for our requirements, which contributed towards what was an enjoyable holiday anyway. I will certainly recommend it ( and you!), and if we return to the area it will be high on our list.
