I stayed with my two young children (ages 5 and 7). We had a wonderful stay here. There was plenty of room for us and the views were absolutely breathtaking.
Our train was delayed and we arrived much later than planned (about 9:30pm). I kept in touch with the host and there was no issues meeting later. Everything we needed was within walking distance. There's a few sets of stairs and steep road to walk up, which was expected with the area we were staying. My kids had no issues with walking to and from the property to nearby areas. The beaches are a bit of a walk away (one was a total of 544 steps away) but we managed. We didn't take the bus but the stop was very close to our stay.

We stayed two weeks here. Great hosts - Giovanni and Giovanni were always helpful and informative. Perfect house for a couple with two full baths and fantastic view of the coast including Positano, Capri, Li Galli, the Faraglioni and more. Two short sets of stairs to get to the home. 5 min walk to the bus stop and several restaurants. Praiano is the best location for for a stay on the Amalfi Coast, away from the crowds yet close enough for easy visits to all the. Towns of the Coster’s Amalfitana.

My partner and I stayed here during our visit to the Amalfi coast. The place itself was good, as expected. The host is definitely the highlight - Mr. Giovanni treated us with the most delicious figs fresh from his garden, and just a wonderful man to interact with (even though he didn't speak English)

I don't think there's a better view anywhere in the world.
Great people, great town, well equipped, comfortable, AIRCON in 2 rooms was an unbelievably great thing this summer. Excellent place to stay!
Luca and Summer In Italy team were great to deal with

We knew we didn’t want to stay in a town overrun by tourists or businesses that cater to tourists - thank goodness businesses here close for afternoon rest - good reminder!
Great communication with host, home was perfect.
I liked Summer In Italy company. You were recommended by a friend who frequently travels to Italy.

The views of this place are amazing and the place itself is super cozy. The only downside is it is a walk up a fairly steep hill but what isn't in the Amalfi coast. The owners were extremely kind and responsive with anything we needed.

This was our fourth visit to Casa Placida. It is a wonderful place to stay. A simple, local house representative of what Praiano is all about, an authentic local working town.
The house has everything one needs. We cooked almost all our meals in the excellent kitchen.
Lovely owners who have lived here for many years with the most amazing vegetable garden.
I have used many booking sites over the years but I think Summer In Italy is one of the best. It is very personal and freely to use. Also easy to find places to rent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Placida.
Giovanni and his family are absolutely wonderful people and we had a super 1 week stay in Praiano. I loved seeing Giovanni in his garden every morning and talking to him about life in general, it reminded me of my Grandparents.
We hope to return someday and will stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Placida. The location was perfect and our hosts were very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions we had. The apartment was well appointed, comfortable and clean. We loved the open space and the patio with the most spectacular view.
It was a pleasure dealing with Summer In Italy. Very clear communication and always quick to respond to questions.

We loved the house
We loved the house! The view was beautiful and we saw many sunsets and a great view of Positano in the day and night.
The kitchen was very easy to use and we were provided salt, pepper, garlic and lemons which made our cooking easier. We would have also appreciated some sugar and oil but we were able to buy it in the little grocery store!
The reviews and photos were great.

If you want discover the Amalfi Coast, Casa Placida in Praiano is the best dwelling possible.
Indeed, Praiano is near to Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano, the most important towns of the coast. By the way, you can easily travel from Praiano to these towns because the SITA bus stop is just at the bottom of the hill leading you to Casa Placida (50 meters, more or less).
The views from the two balconies are just exceptional, we have just no word to describe how beautiful the views were. It's simple, we never saw a view like that in our life! The dwelling is very calm, clean and well equipped. The pictures are true to the reality, and the bedding was very good just as the two bathroom.
Our host was just perfect!
We spent the best vacation of our life thanks to the Casa Placida and we have no negative point to say, just go to the Casa Placida!

This is heaven on earth!!!
Nicola and Giovanni were so hospitable! They made us feel like family, like a long lost relative. Giovanni surprised us with figs from his garden one morning !! So delicious! We were there for 11 days and the photos don’t do it justice. The best location - at least 10 restaurants within walking distance. The views from each deck were breathtaking and each morning and night were unbelievable. The bus stop is 60 feet away. Praiano is the quiet gem 10 minutes from the Positano or Amalfi night life. We can’t wait to go back !

Casa Placida is the perfect answer for families wishing to stay on the Amalfi coast. It was crystal-clean, very convenient and comfortable. You're in easy access to Positano and Amalfi, but you're a step away from the noise and hubbub. The view from your private balcony cannot be beat! The kitchen is efficient and easy. Local restaurants are close by and delicious. In fact, I consider the relatively quiet ambiance of Praiano to be superior to the crowded noise of Positano. The apartments's air conditioning is quite efficient. The property is larger than it appears in the photos. Also, there are two porches (plus the roof) available for sitting, which means that you can sit in sunshine or shade most of the day, as you prefer. We are a family of 3, but 5 could fit here quite comfortably.I have absolutely no reservations to recommend this property. I would (and probably will) stay again. (I don't usually write such glowing reviews, but I literally have nothing to say against this property and glad to say in its favor. Rarely have I been so pleased with a holiday home).

The view was wonderful
The view was wonderful. The house was very clean and the owners, who lived below, were very respectful of our privacy. Other than the spectacular views from the terraces, the house was ordinary.
Praiano itself was amazing, not crowded, and there were amazing restaurants.
All in all I would go back there and stay at Casa Placida.
Had no problems at all. Everything went smoothly with Summer In Italy. Communication was good, no surprises.

We have just had 4 nights in Casa Placida and we were sorry to have to leave... It is a wonderful house with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The view across to Positano and out toward Capri is sublime. We sat for hours looking out and enjoyed the early mornings watching the activity on the water and listening to the sounds of the town waking up.
We do hope we will return one day to soak up this amazing part of the world and we would stay at Casa Placida again.
The couple who own it live downstairs, and although we didn’t understand each others language they were very kind. We enjoyed looking at their beautiful garden as the tended it.
Summer In Italy were exceptional to deal with. Nothing was any trouble to Luca and his team.

We had an absolutely fabulous 6 days at Casa Placida in Praiano on the Amalfi Coast
We had an absolutely fabulous 6 days at Casa Placida in Praiano on the Amalfi Coast. This was a 'home from home' for 6 days on one of the most beautiful places on Earth!
Our decision to stay in Praiano rather than Amalfi, or Ravello, or Positano, or any of the other beautiful Amalfi Coast towns was spot on! We used the SITA bus to get around to all the other towns, but Praiano was gorgeous, the view of Positano, the mountains, the sea and the sunset every evening from the terrace at Casa Placida was incredible. Also, getting around Praiano was easy compared with the other towns - far fewer steps to climb.
The owner Giovanni, his wife and son Nicola could not have better hosts. What a great and memorable week.
By the way, working with Luca and his colleagues at Summer In Italy was also a pleasure: accurate information (with a great sense of humor!), timely replies to our questions, and a super helpful attitude. We would not hesitate to work with them in future or to recommend them to other travelers!

Casa Placida is simply EXCELLENT and I won't repeat all the other positive comments. It was simply PERFECT. Cannot wait to revisit.
The apartment is exactly as seen in the pictures and spotlessly clean. Temperatures were mid 30's throughout however there is always a cool spot on the terraces. The views as mentioned were "out of this world" with Positano to your right from the terrace (lots of evening fire work displays) and daily activity meant I was up at 6 am to watch the boats and super yachts in the cool of the morning.
Fabulous washing machine (select 10 o'clock on the dial for a 1 hour wash) and lots of lines for drying so don't overpack your suitcase, save the space for your Italian purchases. We bought washing tablets and "Colour Catcher" in the store below which also has all the basics you will need for your stay.
On arrival we were met by Giovanni [the owner] who helped with luggage and 1 minute later we were in the apartment.
Summer In Italy were 5* from the moment we booked and cannot recommend them highly enough. If in doubt just book, you will not be disappointed. They replied immediately to all questions and queries and were by our side throughout our wonderful holiday if help was required, many thanks and would totally recommend this very professional company.

Praiano Sept 2019
This was a great apartment in a great location in the Amalfi Coast. Praiano is located between Positano and Amalfi, but with easy access to both and the rest of the area. It is less crowded, but with enough to do and plenty of good restaurants. It was perfect for our 6 day stay. Casa Placido had a great view of the Sea and Positano, with a glorious sunset each evening.

Casa Placida is exactly as described, a very quiet place, in a beautiful surrounding, in the heart of a quiet and familiar town. Everything is close by, there is a small beach a few steps away, a restaurant, a bar, a market, scooter rental, etc.
Ideal for touring the whole Amalfi Coast. We rented a scooter during our stay and visited Positano, Minori, Ravello, Amalfi, Sorrento and Capri in 4 days and it was excellent to rest in such a quiet place.
The house is very spacious and comfortable, it has a familiar touch that made us feel at home. Dinners and breakfasts on the balcony were the best moments I treasure during our tour of Italy.
Nicola (the owner) was very attentive to everything we needed, he has a little vegetable garden and chickens and he offered us strawberries and chicken eggs which were so tasty. We hope to meet Nicola again!

Casa Placida: a calm, beautiful and practical place to stay on the Amalfi Coast
This is a great place to stay on the Amalfi Coast for several reasons. Praiano is calmer and less touristy (at least in late September) than Positano or Amalfi, if crowds are a concern to you. Casa Placida is removed enough from the road to offer enough quiet from that crazy narrow road and all the honking scooters and buses. It's close to two grocery stores, restaurants and to the Church of San Gennaro (7:30pm Mass each day celebrated by a warm and welcoming Padre Pio). The views from the balconies of this property are breathtaking. I found myself getting up to watch the sunrise every day. As a photographer, I was delighted that I had a very good angle of the towers of the San Gennaro Church and Positano in the background. The hosts were good and practical. They showed us around the apartment and were always at hand (downstairs) if we needed anything. The bathrooms are in good shape and the showers are not cramped. The kitchen is well arranged and not too small. We enjoyed all our meals on the balcony overlooking the sea. I would definitely come back here again. Thank you, hosts of Casa Placida!
