About this house rental
Lake view with beautiful sunsets. Level, 150 ' walk to one of the few spacious beaches (not a cliff and not rocky) and a dock on the lake . You may be able to tie our anchor your boat to our dock, where we have our 20 ft boat outboard (email to discuss this in further detail). Deck with umbrella at end of pier and a boardwalk with very low deck on beach with swings and hammock under trees. Rustic fire pit.
Quaint redone bungalow has a cantilevered sunroom with ceiling fan and a tree-shaded deck that has a retractable awning (but not to be let out during windy days) for light rain, 3 sliders, and ceiling fan; newer kitchen with Stainless steel major self-cleaning convection oven, excellent SS toaster with convection oven; Pergo type floors and completely renovated interior. Well water, bath with Corian sink & open cabinet under, ceramic tile floor, new fiberglass shower & fixture that shower head slides to be adjustable height. Eero WiFi. All relatively level property but not wheelchair accessible with two risers involved. Trees or wooded to the rear and most of the sides. Semi-private, approximately 55 feet from the main house, professionally decorated. Swimming (no diving), boating, and fishing. Cool, lake effect, upstate NY nights. AC for heat waves or as needed. Our kayaks are on the beach. Anyone must wear life jackets if going out on the lake in any float on boat, which we may loan. Great area for golf. Saratoga National Golf Club • Saratoga Lake Golf Club • Saratoga Spa Golf. Historic thoroughbred race track. East side of Lake just above Snake Hill....10 minutes to one of the most famous and best thoroughbred tracks in the country (family friendly). Much history with the turning point of the American Revolution nearby and historical sights and events. Philadelphia Philharmonic and New York City Ballet visit during the summer. Numerous other headlining concerts and performances at the Outdoor Saratoga Performing Arts Center and LIve Nation events there. I've read SPACE is rated the number 1 outdoor venue in the US (Red Rock is its competitor). Lake George Opera Chamber Music. Various dance camp opportunities. Numerous art shows. Many public music events. Great scenic downtown (Old Victorian) with a great open park in center of the town. Good jazz and restaurants abound. Skidmore and Empire State College with related events. A great jazz festival and a really good country music festival. Caffe Lena t claims to be the oldest folk-oriented coffee house, in the U.S., featuring acoustic concerts and cultural events showcasing folk music, traditional music, and singer-songwriters of a wide range, including artist Bob Dylan, who performed for two consecutive nights at the cafè in 1961, a year prior to the release of his debut album.
We live at this location too. We are not in a group camp; only 2 houses on property. One is our private home which rents suites only occasionally. Should you want tickets for concerts at SPAC, (rated number one in the US as an outdoor venue) we often can get a few as members. The earlier requested the better chance at popular events, preferably as the event is announced or soon after. Very close parking at SPAC might be available through us and better than Live Nation's. We can update availability per event after inquiring. The sunroom has a TV, a chair, and a leather sectional with windows or sliders on 3 sides. Unfortunately, the photos didn't make it onto the site nor did the updated photos of the two bedrooms. There is no sofa bed in the sunroom, but the site prevents me from properly entering the room's description.
Great walking, biking, golf of all kinds, and tennis courts around. The restaurants are fantastic! We have great beautiful sunsets.

Maybe at one point this was a nice place.
Please take this opportunity to remove yourself from being a host. If you don't want to pay for professional cleaning and updating then do not list this as a viable option for anyone to stay and stop taking people's money!
VRBO has been notified and flags this as having health and safety issues.
UNSAFE AND DISGUSTING. SMELLS LIKE ROTTING ANIMALS - DEAD ROTTING RAT FOUND IN BATHROOM.
No possible way it is cleaned correctly or between renters.
BEWARE! This listing is INACCURATE in many ways.
There is not even an accessible waterfront, Everything is so incredibly and obnoxiously overgrown you can't even access it and DEFINITELY not a beach. Just a dock for boats you can't use.
On the waterfront? Not even a view, it is literally behind the owners house, which you have to walk past and down the driveway and across the street to get to the weed infested dock area that my kids could not even swim in.
Playground?!? No way. An old breaking plywood structure with a slide. Completely inaccessible, infested with weeds.
Everything is extremely old and run down. Kitchen faucet just pulses water. No window shades in kitchen and bathroom. No privacy after dark. No venting fan in bathroom. Shower leaked all over and hit directly on the wall. Furniture feels gross and must never be moved for cleaning. No lock or key was offered at check in.

It was a quiet cottage, close to everything Saratoga has to offer AND only a short walk across the street to the lake. Bill and Betty were so nice and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back!

This was a cute little cottage in a great spot on Saratoga Lake, close to the track, SPAC, the Veterans cemetary and the battlefield. The owners are great people who are very kind and keep a great property. Her wonderful flower garden is a great plus! We would totally stay again.

Good location. Nice accommodation. Not everything clear at check-in, such as existence of a lock for the cottage.

We did not stay. When i was putting things away, i started noticing how dirty things were. The cottage smelled because it hD not been opened to air out. Refrigerator door shelves were not clean, microwave needed to be wiped out. Mouse dropping is kitchen drawer. Black mold on one bedroom ceiling, both bedrooms had nasty cobwebs that had been there a long time and the last straw was dog hair on the bedding that obviously had not been laundered.
I had driven 12 hours to get there so i was tired. By the time i bought groceries and got dinner, it was 11pm. So we packed up a d went to a hotel. Couldn't sleep well so at 5am EDT, I finally was able to find a number for your customer service. I talked to a gentleman in Cairo, Egypt. He was nice and helpful and i gave him a favorable review.
He explained i should have confronted the owner. No way could she have the place cleaned for our short visit. I did email him a few photos i had taken.
I have been in touch with my credit card company to dispute the charges for the cottage. She says she does not have to give back my money because we found other accomidations.
I did purchase your insurance and i will be contacting them tomorrow when i get home.
I have rented through Vrbo the past 2 years without any issues and clean accomidations.
Very disappointed things did not work out. We were really looking forward to being on the lake in our old neighborhood

Lakefront Vacation
The property was perfect for our needs. Close enough to Albany, where my son in law plays in the Orchestra. The fenced in yard was great for our 2 golden retriever pups, who had a ball swimming in the lake. Betty & Bill were outstanding hosts! Hope to return next year.

Best place ever!
What a wonderful time we had at this cottage in Saratoga Springs! The cottage was cozy and comfortable, with everything we could need or want….the backyard was lovely and perfect for our puppy. Bill and Betty were so friendly and helpful,) with suggestions for places to go and eat, with bringing us fresh picked strawberries….with a wonderful ride on the lake. We had such a wonderful time….can’t wait to go back.

Betty's Beautiful Bungalow
One of the loveliest places I've ever rented; bountiful birds and garden well tended, and the swimmable lake w beach a short walk away. Gracious, though somewhat garrulous hosts. If you're afraid of bugs , this is not for you.

Nice cozy cottage, very friendly hosts
The property is a cottage in the back yard of the host's property. It is located so that there is some view of Lake Saratoga. The cottage was clean and well furnished. In addition to the two bedrooms, kitchen and two common areas, there was a small deck by the entrance with a table and four chairs, and an extendable awning. The kitchen has a top grade stove/oven, toaster oven, and refrigerator.
For us, the best feature was the dock. It is lengthy and ends in a square piece big enough for four or five chairs. You can swim from the dock, or just sit and enjoy the lake and the views. We spent a lot of time there.
Another good feature was the proximity of the town of Saratoga Springs, which has lots of very nice restaurants and is pleasant to walk around.
Finally, I would be remiss if I failed to mention the friendliness and helpfulness of our hosts, Betty and William. They were continually trying to think of things that would make our stay more pleasant, and we greatly appreciated it.
I would come back without hesitation.

Nice cottage near the lake
Very good. Brought our kayak and dog, grilled some dinners. Close drive to trails, town, parks, restaurants.
Home has updated appliances , older but adequate furniture and kitchen things.
I brought my Brita to filter water and allergy medications .

Cute Lakeside Cottage
Very cute 2 bdrm cottage with nice sunroom and small deck; short walk across the road to a fire pit and dock right on Saratoga Lake. Fenced in yard was perfect for my two fur babies. Bill & Betty were very pleasant, greeting us upon arrival, and offering tips on local things to do. We would stay here again.

Nice Location
The location is convenient to everything. We visited all the attractions. We did bring our boat and it was hard to get parking for the trailer Recommend if you bring boat you need to coordinate with a local marina. The cottage was nice and we all had a great little vacation Would return. Great for dog families with a nice yard. Looking forward to next year

Thank you!
Cottage is behind the main house and across a busy road from the lake, which I did not love. But the owners were wonderful and very kind

Horribly disappointing
While the setting was lovely, the cottage had a pervasive musty smell. Furnishings, window treatments, towels, etc. were old and dirty. Cobwebs hung from ceilings. Water pressure was so low, it was impossible to shower! And the "sandy beach" is dirt with weeds. We checked out 11 days early!

Nice little bungalow / camp in the backyard.
It is a cozy and quiet spot across the street from the lake. The camp is in the backyard of the owners home but provides ample privacy. The owners are terrific folks. They offered us tickets to the music venue when their friends couldn't make it, pointed us to a couple of decent local restaurants and even invited our teenage son to join their grandkids out on their boat. Internet and cable TV were great (a must for our son). A big plus for the space is allowing us to bring our little dog. The owners have two beautiful white fluffy dogs and like to visit if you leave the sliding door open It is cozy and any more than two adults and two kids will begin to feel cramped. If you like to cook, there is an overabundance of pots, pans and serving pieces with a full size stove as well as a nice gas grill next to the deck. If you like to fish, good size bass are very catchable right off the dock. We had a teenager in tow, but if you have little kids, the shoreline adjacent to the dock would need to be reorganized to allow for young ones to play in the sand (one side is a firepit, the other contains many water toys). All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again.

Great, convenient location; stunning view of the lake.
Betty and Bill were excellent hosts. We can’t get over the lake and sunset views from their dock.

Saratoga Fun in the Sun
One of the most enjoyable places to be on Labor Day week-end has to be Saratoga Springs , NY, and one of the most enjoyable and affordable places that allows a family of six to be a part of all this fun and entertainment has to be this quaint bungalow on the edges of the Saratoga Lake. Clean, cozy yet spacious, this pink bungalow sits in a lovely yard where Monarch butterflies visit. One can sit on a swing dangling from a tree branch or walk out to the pier and pull up a chair to enjoy the scenery of Saratoga Lake. Barbecue grill is available and the sunrise and sunset views of the lake are quite impressive. There is a lovely restaurant by the lake ,which you can access by boat or car, which has a small but clean beach and is pet friendly . The food is remarkably tasty and there is a bar with music blaring from speakers . So you can swim , dine , party and... of course, gamble on the best horses @ historical Saratoga racetrack ...
In all, whether you are a couple going for a romantic interlude , few friends going to party or a family of 6-8, you will find this picturesque bungalow perfect (and economical) for your ventures.

Wonderful Hosts.
You couldn't have nicer hosts than Betty and Bill. They went out of their way to make our stay great. If you want to know about Music in the area or the best place to buy fresh tomatoes and corn they have it covered. The little cabin is cozy and just across from the lake. Very nice people, hope to come again! Jamie and Harry Los Angeles.

Just What We Were Looking For!
First, the pictures in the owner's advertising are absolutely accurate. It's always good to not be surprised by the actual place. Let me go area by area for what's not obvious from just pictures. The front room is very airy because there are 3 full sliding doors with screens in addition to the windows. There is a nice view of the lake from this room. The television is a nice flat screen, and the cable brings in tons of stations. The owner was having a problem with the WiFi when we first arrived, but she got it repaired right away. The kitchen is kind of a combination room. One side has a little twin bed sleeping area with a couple of chairs and a dresser. The other side is the kitchen. We've rented lots of cottages, and this kitchen is BY FAR the best equipped of them all. The appliances are great, but more than that, pot holders, dish towels, cooking utensils, pots, pans, dishware, and flatware were plentiful. I found everything I needed for two weeks. Plus there is a good cork screw! The bathroom is comfortable, and the shower appears new. The owner stocked lots of towels and face cloths. One thing that really pleased us was that, although this is a lake cottage, the water is potable and we didn't have to schlep in bottled water. If you haven't rented a cottage before, you should know that generally speaking you will need to bring anything you might need, but this owner supplied a couple of rolls of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, and some paper napkins to get us started. That was really thoughtful. There are two bedrooms, and the beds are comfy. Each room had storage, enough for our clothing and to stow our suitcases. We really enjoyed the deck off the front room. Although there is a table in the kitchen area, we ate outside on that deck whenever we ate at "home." The grill is nice, and the propane tank was full. The owners allow -- encourage -- use of their dock, which is just across the street. There's a table at the end of it, and four chairs. We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets as we sat there. The owners, Betty and Bill, are friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed visits from their friendly dogs. The overall location is great. There are several restaurants along the lake, and it's a short and easy drive to the race track. We hope to return.

Lovely Saratoga Lakeside Getaway
This adorable bungalow on Saratoga Lake was as described on the website and we were very pleased with the accommodations for our week vacation with our teenagers. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking on the lake during the day and the breathtaking sunsets relaxing in the Adirondack chairs on the dock in the evening. The lake is clean, beautiful and so relaxing. The bungalow was clean and well maintained. The owners take great pride in their property and have planted beautiful gardens which we enjoyed on our private deck as we barbecued. The updated bungalow was equipped with everything we needed to cook, however we often took advantage of the many restaurants in downtown Saratoga which is a short 10 minute drive. The owners were available as needed to answer questions and were happy to provide directions and dinner recommendations for many of the local restaurants. We enjoyed horseback riding at a local stable and the NYC Ballet performance at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The amphitheater was a wonderful venue for an otherwise formal event. I highly recommend this comfortable bungalow. I can't wait to return next summer during the track season!

Fabulous Lake Vacation
Fabulous lake vacation. Thoroughly enjoyed the location with so many choices. Shady or sunny at the beach or in the lawn. We loved the beautiful sunsets from the swings and marshmallows at the beach fire. Saratoga is a fun place. The Blumes were very accommodating hosts and maintain a very welcoming atmosphere and enjoyable bungalow with everything we needed readily available. We plan to return to this bungalow again as our family had a terrific time.

Once again a wonderful family vacation!
Once again we enjoyed a wonderful family vacation at Sunset Views at Saratoga Lake. This is our 5th summer returning to this spot and it never disappoints. We love relaxing in the hammock and hammock swing at the beach in the morning to enjoy our coffee and look forward to reclining in the Adirondack chairs, after a day playing in the lake, to appreciate the panoramic views of the sun setting over the lake. The bungalow is simple, clean, and charming. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything we need to cook. Located only ten minutes from down town Saratoga, we had plenty of dining to choose from that is family friendly on days we didn't feel like cooking. Betty and Bill are accommodating owners who are always available to answer questions. The gardens surrounding the property always have something in bloom making our time on the bungalows deck and yard enjoyable. We look forward to returning again next summer!

Perfectly charming again!
Loved it being as charming as I remembered from 2014. The grounds are lovely with lots of blooming flowers and bushes. They have added a canopy for use of the deck in showers and a new large shower stall with an adjustable shower height. They have man really nice things to use and if you need something special just ask they likely will have it to lend. We hope this bungalow is available our next trip!

Mr & Mrs R.
Filthy & dirty. Combination pad lock & chain to lock the door. Smelled moldy. Mold in shower curtain. Cleaned for 3 days just to be livable. Dirty dishes in cupboard. Dust & cobwebs everywhere. Mouse traps full on mouse droppings spilled out onto the floor. Vacuum cleaner bag full to beyond capacity had to be emptied by hand because no replacement bag available. So much sand under the carpet I thought I was at the beach. Grass a foot tall before they mowed it. Yard looked like a junk yard. Terrible!! Terrible!! Terrible!!! Can not reccomend this place to anyone.

Convenient- Private- Clean - camping Experience!
My 97 years old Mother and I stayed in this delightful , private Bungalow for two beautiful weeks in Sept 2015. The owners, Bill and Betty were so congenial during our stay! Bill was informative about the area, activities, and local restaurants. Betty was so cordial and provided all our needs to be sure we were comfortable.
We live in Fl but originally from this area so we had family and friends visit helping my Mother celebrate her birthday ! Bill and Betty were so helpful and welcoming to all!
We enjoyed relaxing on the dock, swimming, kayaking, and boat ride! Everything is provided for making a fire by the lake. We enjoyed doing s'mores and storytelling!
If you are looking for a clean camping experience we recommend , Sunset Cottage!"!

Beautiful Lake Spot
The cottage discription was accurate, The cottage is on the same property as the owners house so if you are seeking privacy, this rental is probably not for you. That being said, Betty and Ed,( owners) were very warm, friendly people. They offered many tips on area activities. Their two dogs came by for daily visits which was most welcome. The dock and chairs were perfect for the morning coffee and newspaper. Sunsets were outstanding. The race track and downtown were a quick drive away. Had a really nice week.
