About this apartment rental
New apartment and called Gold because of the adopted colour scheme, this apartment offers a myriad of other experiences to please both the romantic and the young at heart. Gold provides excellent views of the seafront where all the major ferry boats moor (harbour/round Malta cruises, and Gozo/Comino/Valletta visits). The open top tourist and route buses' terminus is across the road, as is the seaplane departure point, making sightseeing a trouble-free delight. Restaurants and cafes abound in this locality, creating a pleasurable hub of activity. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment (main with en-suite), boasts a large kitchen/dining room which combines with the lounge area (the 2 sofa beds can sleep a further 2 if required), including gas fireplace, 42' TV. Adjacent is a 6’ x 3’ pool table table plus a bar for one’s own entertainment. Uniquely created is the ‘retreat area’ where a large Jacuzzi is enticingly situated in a romantically candle-lit alcove.

Paul was good at replying to our communications. We didn’t get any check-in details though, luckily the taxi firm he uses knew his ‘phone number and could get the keys for the apartment. We still had to contact Paul for details of how to leave the apartment at the end of our stay.
The apartment, where do I start - we knew from the photos that it was quirky, but the reality was something else. We were 2 couples so we booked because it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 sofas. But hey, no! One sofa had completely disappeared!
The snooker table had become a pool table which has seen better days. The dining chairs had been recovered twice and had been patched up with tape. The television was held up by a speaker on one side and a small table on its side plus a book. There were no instructions for it and we couldn’t make it work. The round cushion on the floor surrounded by net curtains was in front of the air conditioning unit. There are several drawers in the bedrooms that couldn’t be used because there were no knobs on them. Some wiring and sockets were probably dangerous because they were hanging off the walls.
The kitchen was fine and there were plenty of utensils and crockery. The beds were comfortable although some of the pillows could do with being replaced. The location was the best thing about the apartment, close to the water, the ferries, the buses and restaurants & shops.

This 2-bed condo in Sliema was home for a week in August 2023, providing perfect lodging steps from the waterfront with its many dining and touring offerings. You can view that waterfront from the balcony, fine for relaxing before heading out to see this intriguing country. The owner provided excellent support in enjoying the condo and airport shuttles, making our arrival easy. There were no problems with the condo, though there were a couple internet outages, which were city-wide and quickly resolved. We used the hot tub, which is perfect after a day of touring. There’s a laundry in the in the condo. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for preparing and enjoying meals. Supplies can be purchased at the Spar just a couple hundred meters away; more are found in The Point shopping center, also a short walk away. While we took breakfast in the flat, we otherwise found excellent restaurants around the country. One special restaurant is the Fontanella Tea Garden in the old walled city of Mdina. Transportation from the flat was very available by boat, as well as by Uber, cab, and bus. We were easily able to get to the ancient temples all over Malta and Gozo. Most can be accessed on demand, but you MUST purchase your tickets to the Hypogeum in advance. We took an organized tour for the Ġgantija Temple, with its more complex logistics. We give the highest rating for this condo, which made our visit to Malta a great success –we hope to enjoy again soon. Thanks!!

Spacious property in an excellent location. It really is only a couple of minutes walk from shops, restaurants and the (10 minute) ferry across the harbour to Valetta. Apartment is on the second floor but there is a lift if required.

Ideal apartment - convenient, clean, quiet and comfortable.
Excellent communication before and during the rental. Airport pick-up and return (organised by owners) was inexpensive and efficient. Apartment is spacious, very well situated (close to everything) and well equipped. Thoroughly recommend it - thank you!

Great location, relaxing apartment.
The location of the apartment is perfect, plenty of shops and restaurants around - easy access to the ferry to Valletta and tour buses too. A nice view from the side of the balcony. The apartment is quite rustique but very comfortable, and the pool table is great for some post-touring relaxation. Would definitely stay again but hopefully arrive earlier, the owners kindly met us in the early hours because of a delayed flight!

Location, Location, Location...
This is the place to stay! It’s as advertised.
The owner is a great, not only is he quick to respond, he also help with a solution we had with our reservation. The check-in is the most complete and thorough I’ve experienced. It’s starts with his son Nathaniel, he walked us through their check in process, presented a book with information about the apartment plus restaurants and places to see. The location is less than 5 minutes to the busses and ferries, and some great international/ethnic restaurants are at your doorstep on the promenade. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Malta!

Really pleased I chose this apartment - we all enjoyed staying in Gold!
Three of us (three adults) stayed in Gold in June 2019. We found the apartment to be spacious, comfortable and the pool table was a great source of amusement for the boys and me. As advertised, the property is perfectly situated very close to bus stops, ferries, restaurants, shops etc. The balcony is of a reasonable size and gives good views of the water and the local hustle and bustle; the view from the roof is even better because it opens up the view even more. I found Paul and Josanne to be very easy to talk to/deal with and if I return to Malta and choose to stay in Sliema again, I will go for Gold.

Well equipped central apartment
Spacious apartment best suited for four people I would say. Superbly placed for both bus and ferry.

Not really as described and not suitable for two couples.
We selected the apartment based on the description and photos provided. We were two couples travelling and booked apartments in many cities to accommodate two couples with bedrooms similar and two bathrooms. The description for the second bedroom said the two single beds could easily be converted to sleep a couple. When we arrived the bedding had not been configured even though we had requested the bedding to be reconfigured. The owner arranged for the beds to be reconfigured which was not an easy task! It resulted in one side of the bed being against the wall and the removal of a chest of drawers from the bedroom. The second bedroom and bathroom are very small and much more suited to a family with young children. The property included a pool table and when we arrived there was one cue with no tip and very little chalk. The owners did arrange delivery of more cues and chalk. The towels, sheets and pillows were of poor quality. The owners arranged for four new pillows to be purchased and delivered and for more towels and the sheets to be replaced. The replacements were not much better quality than the original linen supplied. The wifi did not work which the owners did do their best to resolve. Finally wifi provided on the third day. The lounges double as sofa beds and are not very comfortable to sit on. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils and dishwashing detergent was provided. An allowance of 14kwph per day of electricity is included. We were reluctant to use the AC even though it was hot in the apartment as we were concerned about the electricity allowance. We were four adults who were very conservative with the use of electricity and the average we used over five days was around 10kwph per day. If we used the AC more we feel we would have certainly exceeded the allowance. Hot water in each bathroom needs to be heated for around half an hour before use and then turned off otherwise the electricity usage will be exceeded. The apartment is in a great position and close to the ferry to Valletta, local buses and great restaurants. The owners were extremely responsive and professionally dealt with the issues. Not an ideal apartment for two couples but great for a family with children.

Excellent location
The apartment could not have been better placed for us as it was only a very short distance to get on public transport, hop on hop off buses and the ferry to Valetta. We had plenty of room and there was space for the three of us on the balcony. Wifi was free. We did not get round to using the jacuzzi and we hardly used the cooking facilities, scrambled eggs and toast a couple of mornings as there were plenty of restaurants round about to have breakfast, lunch or dinner

Central to all Amenities, Great Location
We stayed here for a long weekend. Apartment is close to shops, restaurants and the sea front with ferries across to Valletta and boat trips to Gozo, also bus stops close by for Gozo Ferry Port (1 hour trip each way), 40 minute walk to St Julians Bay. Lovely clean apartment, with 2 bathrooms (one en-suite to main bedroom). Second Bedroom is two single beds. We arranged Taxi through the apartments owners, no problems here, collected us from airport on time and dropped us back at the end of our stay. We enjoyed staying here and for a short visit it was a perfect place being close to all Amenities.

Great Location
A friend and I stayed in this apartment in September, 2017. We never sat in the living room nor did we play snooker. We enjoyed sitting on the small balcony to watch the street action below as well as to enjoy the sea view off to the the right. We were picked up at the airport by the owner's son in a very untidy car, actually a dirty car, both inside and out. The boot was full of personal belongings and the seats were in need of a thorough cleaning. The balcony chairs were replaced in a timely manner when it was pointed out that they were in disrepair. However, the loose door handle (loose to the point it was unusable) in the second bedroom. was never fixed. When this was pointed out to the son, we were told we should have called again. Our security deposit was returned upon check out. The notebook with pertinent information was in need of replacement as it showed great wear and usage and was unsightly. Actually, management needs to up their game as this is a fabulous location. It has a great view from the balcony, is close to the ferry and bus stop and there are many restaurants very nearby. The grocery store is also near. So, would I, personally, stay here again? I think so. I would just not expect much from management and just enjoy what is good about this apartment. It has what you need, including a washing machine. The two bedrooms and two baths suited us well.

A fun apartment in a great location
Feb 2017 (UK half term break)
The view of Valetta from Silema is fabulous.
You can see the Silema harbour from the balcony.
The apartment was good for our family of 4 (2 young boys).
The bedrooms are next to each other - one double, one twin - so they were confident going to sleep at night in a new place. They are at the back of the apartment so quiet and dark at night.
The TV has sky channels and the pool table was great fun. We couldn't log on to the home internet for some reason (but I expect it was due to our phones rather than the connection which is made free by the owner and has a strong signal). There is local free wifi in range so it wasn't a problem.
We tried to fill the hot tub twice but couldn't get enough hot water to submerge the jets (it's so big!) but the children loved splashing in it anyway. I guess we could have left the hot water immersion on for longer but didn't get round to doing this and felt bad wasting the energy!
Paul was very helpful when we needed help lighting the gas oven and got back in touch with us immediately.
I would have appreciated some basics in the kitchen e.g. olive oil, salt and pepper, sugar, maybe even a tea or coffee for our arrival, and soap in both bathrooms. However, this was not promised up front and perhaps other people wouldn't like to share, so I can see why some owners do not provide this.
A supermarket is in easy walking distance up the hill behind the apartment (not open on Sunday) and there are a few convenience stores along the Silema front underneath the apartment where you can buy milk, fruit, bread or postcards.
Parking was convenient - we always managed to find a space near the apartment - and it was free on the road.
Bars and eateries are directly below the apartment. There is a Dr Juice bar 20m away which the boys loved and a few ice cream parlours.
There are lots of companies offering boat tours and tourist experiences on the promenade opposite the apartment. We didn't use any of these but instead took the local ferry (almost opposite M&S) across to Valetta for about 2.80euro return. It takes about 10 mins and they shuttle backwards and forwards all day.
We loved our trip to Malta. The weather was beautiful. About 16-18C most days and sunshine/blue skies. Just what we needed to break from the UK grey.

Nice big apartment in the centre of it al
Really nice apartment / flat with a jacuzzi and big pool/snooker table. Nice veranda as well where you can look out into the water and down to the main strip. A/C works great, plenty channels on the TV if you need a (hangover) night in! Stayed here during a friends wedding in Malta and Paul and Josanne made the stay effortless! The young guy who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport was cool as well (cant remember his name!)
Plenty pubs and restaurants on your door step and a couple good late night bars about 10 minutes walk up along the water heading to the right.
Sorry for the late review guys - will be using your apartmets again whenever we decide to visit Malta again!
FYI for the pale skinned, take plenty sun cream!!!

Excellent Appartment in Excellent Location
Title of review sums it up really, faultless location and apartment lives up to its online description. Owner allows you to use £'s as security deposit so you're not left with a lot of spare euros after your visit.

Spacious Apartment in a great location.
Our stay at Gold Apartments was an enjoyable time. The pick up at the airport by Paul's son was very welcome after a very long journey. Our hosts were great and easy to contact when we found the toaster was broken, it was replaced very quickly.
The walls of the apartment could have done with a wash or a coat of paint and the lounges where quite worn with the bar pushing into the back of your legs. But otherwise the location is perfect for restaurants, buses, ferries and tours. A large supermarket just up the street, and plenty of shopping if you feel like that as well. Paul also drove us back to the airport at the end of our holiday at a small cost, which saved us worrying about organising this.

Excellent location right on the sea front
The owners son picked us up from the airport and brought us to the apartment even though it was very late at night. He gave us a welcome pack including Maltese bread, cheese, ham and a bottle of sparkling wine. The rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. The view from the balcony and especially the roof terrace is spectacular.
The location could not be any better with shops and restaurants on your doorstep. The buses and ferry tours are only across the road for exploring the island.
The owners were wonderful hosts and even picked us up to go to another apartment.

Christmas time in Sliema
The apartment was just fine for the 8 of us, aged 13 to 63: 2 bedrooms (= 4 pers.) + 2 coaches (= 4 pers.) + 2 bathrooms. The location was perfect: right in the city center (so don´t expect the quietness of the countryside!), close to restaurants, the mall, the ferry to Valetta, bus stop, etc... We did not feel too closely spaced in the apartment since while some of us were cooking, others took a shower, played billiard, smoked on the balcony or roof top (by the way, very nice view over Valetta from there). It has also been very nice being picked up from the airport! Thanks to Paul and Josanne for the very friendly contact! We´ll keep very good memories of this stay!
