About this house rental
Hi, We are doing occasional rentals of our large 5 story 5000 sq ft / 460m2 house in Clapham Old Town. Usually we prefer rentals of 4 nights or more, but we can sometimes rent it for 2 nights if the dates work with our own plans. Please email me before booking.
The house has 5 bedrooms, (3x double bedrooms, 1x child’s bedroom with 1 x bunk beds and a 1x teenage bedroom with 1 single high-bunkbed and 1 double bed)
On the lower ground level we have a Playroom with satellite tv, apple tv, ps4, sonos , beanbag seating and lots of lego, toys and games, and cosy wood burner and 52" TV. To the rear of the house is a large bright eat-in family kitchen with glass roof, full width glass doors which open to the terrace and garden. The kitchen has underfloor heating, two ovens, warming drawer, gas hob and American style fridge freezer, wine fridge, two dishwashers, Sonos sound system, Jura coffee machine and all the kitchen appliances you could possible want. Seating at the table for 10-12. The kitchen also has a utility cupboard with additional sink as well as a small WC.
The upper ground floor has the original 120 year old victorian-era wood floors, and a formal reception room with piano, open fire, and Sonos sound system, as well as sofa seating for 7. Next door to that is a family sitting room with TV (satellite, tv and apple tv), open fire, Sonos and seating for 8. There is also a study (locked to guests) and WC as well as a generous hallway with lots of space for coat and shoes storage.
On the fully carpeted first floor is a large family bathroom with underfloor heating freestanding bath, double sink and walk in shower. The master bedroom (sleeps 2) has generous fitted cupboards and king size bed as well as Sonos sound system, and next to it is child’s bedroom with with bunk bed (sleeping 2 children) and fitted cupboards. An additional fold out single bed can be put in this room (sleeping +1 child)
On the second floor is a roof terrace to the rear with sunbeds and lighting, a double bedroom with a single over desk bunk bed (sleeping 1 child) and a big double bed (sleeping 2 people), fitted cupboards. On same floor is another bedroom, equipped with a double bed (sleeping 2 people) and two wardrobes. Adjacent to these rooms is a large bathroom with underfloor heating, bath, in-bath shower as well as sink and WC. Outside in the hallway is a laundry cupboard with Miele washing machine and Miele tumble dryer, as well as steam generator iron.
On the top floor is a large room with double bed (sleeping 2 people) in the roof space (sloping ceilings), a shower room, with WC, heated floor and sink and fitted cupboards.
To the rear of the house is a large 120ft / 36m long garden, laid partially to grass and partially to terrace. There is a 6 burner gas bbq, outdoor fireplace and a wood fired pizza oven and outdoor lighting.
To the front is off street parking for one car.
The house is about 5 minute walk from the bars and resturants of clapham high street and 10 minutes from clapham common and clapham north tube stations- both of which are on the Northern Line providing easy access to Central London and the City. We are also about 15 minute walk from Stockwell, which takes you to Oxford Circus and the West End in about 15 minutes. Also close by (10 minutes) is Wandsworth Road overground which gives speedy access to Clapham Junction in just 8 minutes. We are 10-15 minutes walk from the large open spaces of Clapham Common.
The house is fully equipped with monitored security system and fire system, as well as having hard wired smoke and fire detectors in all habitable rooms and bedrooms.

We had a wonderful time staying at Simon's beautiful home, and he could not have been more helpful whenever we needed anything. We especially loved the great kitchen and outdoor space and easy access to transportation. Simon was also most generous in allowing us early access to the house, which was a huge help. The only thing not mentioned in other reviews that I think is important is that there are a lot of flights of stairs, so if you have someone who has difficulty with that, they need to be aware ahead of time. We all agreed that it was the trip of a lifetime, and we even got to see King Charles and Queen Camilla twice! What a treat that was. Highly recommend this property, with that one caveat about the stairs.

We use VRBO multiple times per year and this home was exceptional on many levels.
The booking, communication and visit details were very complete and easy to follow. The accommodations were generous for our group of 12 and provided plenty of space for everyone to relax. The location was close to transit, shops and great food.
We all want to thank the family for their preparations and accommodation of our group. All future VRBOs will have a very difficult comparison against this great home.

The property was in a convenient location, near 2 tube stations and a train station. We could easily walk to restaurants and pubs. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to any of our needs/questions. It worked out well for a family of 12.

The town house is conveniently located to all public transportation to attractions in London and it’s vicinity. The property is clean, spacious, and well stocked with all necessary supplies. Simon is a great host. He provides detailed instructions on the house as well as its surroundings, and checks in to see if we have other needs. Our two families of 12 people in total really enjoyed our stay there. Highly recommended!
