We had a wonderful 3 week stay in this gorgeous villa, with a variety of friends and family staying with us for the holiday.
The villa is exceptional and owners Alex and Claren made sure absolutely everything was taken care of. From the bi-weekly cleaning of the pool to the weekly house cleaning and the regular communication by WhatsApp offering us help and tips for our stay in Puglia. Nothing was overlooked and even when small issues arise, they were dealt with promptly and painlessly.
I cannot recommend this house highly enough and very much look forward to our family visiting again.
Thank you Alex, Claren and team for a wonderful holiday

We spent 2 weeks in Claren & Alex house in the blowing Itria Valley. The house in great and extremely well located, close to the typical villages of Puglia. The garden and the great pool were very appreciated by us and our teenagers. The house is nicely decorated and very well equipped. We loved our stay, and the advices both from Alex and Antonio the property managers were extremely useful. Big thank you !

Casa Giancone was fabulously comfortable and well-equipped and we loved our week in the Puglian sunshine! The large pool, with plenty of shady seating around it, was perfect in the current heatwave, and we loved the location away from, but close by to, several pretty towns (and tasty gelaterias!). Just bring some mosquito repellent in summer.
Alex was a very attentive host - thank you!
The house has lots of leaflets from local attractions but our only suggestion that would make exploring the area and eating out easier would be to provide a brief list of recommended places. Having said this, Alex was really happy to text me lots of info, and details of the local supermarket etc.
We hope to be back!

An elegant oasis with character well positioned in the Valle d'Itria.
Alex did everything he could to make our stay special. The house was wonderful with a gorgeous large pool. So much to see and explore in the area.
Do not hesitate to stay at Giancone Estate!

Great location
Very friendly and helpful local people who assist those not up to speed with Italian.
Manager and staff exceptional
We felt looked after. And if I had a question about local culture it was answered quickly and with detail.
So we caught the annual piano festival in Martina Franca.
Cleanliness and facilities excellent
Grounds which are manicured offer fabulous fruit trees for breakfasts and snacks and herbs for cooking.
Kitchen fully fitted and an outdoor BBQ. Use tbe wood from the grounds. Much tastier cooking results than charcoal.
Open plan space allows comfort for all guests.
Pool is clean and managed every 3 or 4 days whether it needs it or not.
Security is 💯
Actually myself and all my companions have only positive things to say about our stay. We are sad to leave.
Wish it had been longer.

We had an incredible 10 days at Giancone Estate. The property and grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and the pool is stunning. Sunset from the roof terrace is magical too. The house is very well equipped, especially the kitchen (which seems to have everything you could ever want!). There was plenty of space inside and out for all of us (4 adults, 4 kids) and the aircon and fans kept the space mostly cool (the Trullo rooms can get a little warm, but we and the kids found it perfectly manageable).
We had a pasta-making lesson from Lucrezia which the kids loved. Alex is the most communicative and responsive property owner of any private accommodation we have stayed with anywhere in the world! Martina was so helpful too.
As other reviews have mentioned, you will need a lot of mosquito spray! And we had to stock up on bottled water, but we didn't have problems with a smell. You definitely need a car too, but the location is great for accessing most of the region's small/medium towns (most of which have good markets one day a week).
All in all, a memorable stay, highly recommended.

Family of seven
Charming property with comfortable beds, nice pool and plenty of space for our family of 7 adults. Some issues with the water supply having an unpleasant odour which they did try to fix, but that may just be a local issue. The property is well located for easy drive to the four towns of the province. The owners sent us lots of helpful info before our arrival and Martina was very welcoming. We had Lucretia cook for us one evening and that was worth doing as her food was delicious. We had a good stay but would definitely recommend that guests have mosquito repellant.

Family vacation in puglia- beautiful home, let down by details- AC inadequate!
We loved the charm of Alex and Claren's property, which was tastefully done, with the rustic trulli and set in pretty grounds.
Unfortunately, our stay was marred by several things. We are used to the heat of Southern Italy and had intentionally picked a home advertised with AC. Unfortunately, we did not read the small print and in the main house, there was only AC in one bedroom. The house was stifling in the 100F/36C heat and our kids really struggled to sleep in their rooms. Just know that the whole home is not air-conditioned.
In addition, the kitchen was cramped with dishes and pans stacked high on eachotehr and hard to access. It was also very hard to cook as their induction burner only gets hot on one burner at a time! When I questioned this, Alex told me it was always that way...very hard to cater for a larger family in this kitchen.
Also- the water in the taps in not drinkable, so you have to buy bottled water for drinking, tea, coffee, ice making etc.
Magnificent pool - this was definitely a high point.
Stunning countryside and we loved the Val d'atria.
Great property manager who could not have been more helpful.

Great place
We had a very pleasant stay at Giancone Puglia Estate. The house is fantastic, very well equipped and provided enough space to host a big group of 5 adults and 2 children. The multiple terraces, the beautiful garden and pool area offer many options to sit down, relax and eat. The house is well located and lots of nice places are easily reached by car. The hosts and the housekeepers were amazing and communication was easy: they provided a great variety of recommendations and information. We felt very welcomed and well supported during our stay. We can definitely recommend the chef, amazing food! We highly recommend this estate for a stay in Puglia. Thanks a lot.

Torneremo! Flavia

Fantastic
We were 8 friends staying in the house for one week beginning of July. This is a very nice house with a lot of seating areas outside, nice kitchen and of course the nice pool which is big enough for daily exercise. We did a few trips to the west coast and Ostuni which is beautiful but we all agreed the house was the best part of the trip.
Good to know is there are no taxis or Uber around so you definitely need to rent your own car, you can also get help with shuttle when going for dinner nearby (this was quite expensive but works if you’re a big group).
The restaurants we were recommended inside Martina Franca were great (specially the pizza) and we also found a good big grocery store with Italien speciality’s. Please note all stores and most restaurants are closed between 2-5pm.
Everyone managing the property and the owners were super friendly and helpful in every way.
Overall we had a great stay and we very much recommend this to everyone who is interested in exploring Puglia. Ciao!

Bithday celebration
We rented the villa for a family birthday celebration and it was everything we wanted. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped and with the most beautiful pool. There is good local shopping in Martina Franca and it is easy to get to the attractive hilltop villages with their historic centres and good restaurants.

Charming estate in beautiful surroundings
The house and estate are wonderful, and perfectly situated to explore the surrounding countryside and towns. My family had a lovely, relaxing time, and we were made to feel very welcome by Alex and his local team. This is our first visit to this area, and we will definitely return!

Great location, nice buildings, some practical issues
We stayed at the property for 10 days in the end of september. The location is great, centered in puglia with all you need within reasonable distance. The buildings are nice, especially the old trulli part. The pool is beutiful but starts to get cold in the end of september. When the air is medium hot, 25-30 degrees, there are annoying mosquitos, especially noticeable when using the pool. The power went out twice due to a main fuse switching off, the property manager quickly guided us to the fuse box and it was sorted out. One evening we ran out of water, once again the property manager was great help and we had water again the next morning, but with 4 kids and 6 adults even a shorter period without water is annoying. An alarm to draw attention to low water level would be an easy fix.
All in all, this is a good property, but some technical arrangements could make it great.

Located at the heart of Puglia the house is immersed in a lush of Mediterranean flora which evokes a rich an intimate sense of arrival when entering the parkway.Collen and Antonela were already expecting us with local appetizers to ease our journey and give us a warm welcome. The house is exactly what we looked for , celebrating simple sophistication with every amenity in the right place to accommodate our entire family of 8.Owing to the house unique interior layout and ample exterior living spaces, moving from a state of privacy to a communal gathering contributed immensely to the quality of our stay. The house rooms are pumpering and spacious with ample light and natural ventilation. The linen quality worths mentioning and it feels like nothing escaped the owner’s eyes when thinking about his guests. We ordered a daily cleaning service which proved to be efficient and effective while for our first and last day we asked for a private chef to cook dinner for us. Lucrezia , our chef, endulged us with local culinary delights exploring dishes from Land to Sea. These evenings under Lucrezia’s hands and soul were unforgettable. We already miss her. This is without doubt, a place to come back to . At the end of the day coming back home always feels great.

Wonderful holiday at Puglia country house
We, a family of 5 enjoyed very much our stay at this nice house. We were very impressed about the large size of the property and the surrounding garden including the fig trees (yummy taste), and the huge pool. From the first contact with the owner Alex and Colleen and Antonella from the agency everything was very friendly, well prepared and reliable. Thanks to Antonella for organizing tickets for the Valle d`Itria Festival, which was overwhelming. We warmly thanks Lucrezia for the great Puglia dinner provided at the house, which we can strongly recommend. Also many thanks for the exquisite wellcome package by Alex on arrival.
The location of the property in the Valle d`Ittria is very attractive to visit the many picturesque little towns nearby like Martina Franka, Locorotondo, Cisternino, Ostuni and Alberobello, great for strolling, for dinner and local athmosphere.
The house and pool area is ideal for relaxing. Having a car is necessary to get around. Beaches around Torre Canne and Torre Guaceto are great.

Lovely house and grounds in the Puglia countryside
We very much enjoyed our stay at Giancone Estate, outside Martina Franca. The house was set up well, with everything we needed for our vacation. The bedrooms in the trullo are cool and there is welcome aircon in the other bedrooms. We had a couple of bbq's on the built-in bbq, eating our meal in the courtyard area, and we liked having a choice of places to eat over our stay. The pool is larger than normal and is a super area for relaxation and play. Everything is clean and well equipped, so we couldn't recommend the house more highly.

lovely place set in beautiful surroundings
In Trulli-land you will find no beter place to stay : the house is spacious, nicely decorated, the kitchen well equipped. You can sit outside and dine, near the kitchen or near the BBQ or somewhere else in the big garden.
Beautiful swimmingpool with enough shade when it's too hot.

A real paradise in the heart of Valle d' Itria
Is difficult to summarise in this small space the intense and magical moments of happiness I had in my stay in this charming house. Space, comfort, style, good taste, light and green everywhere, and the perfect geographical location for visiting the best of Puglia. I am planning to return next year and with more friends. Congratulations Claren and Alex!

Wundervolle Zeit in Puglia
Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Puglia - Perfectly Private, Conveniently Close
I would highly recommend this property.
The owner could not be more accommodating and helpful, arranging everything from airport transfers from Brindisi to an evening at the opera in Bari to reservations at hole-in-the-wall restaurants throughout Puglia. Each and every day of my visit was better and richer because of the owner's sincerest desire to ensure that my visit was memorable. Having been a business traveler for years, the owner understands firsthand what superlative customer service means and intends to deliver the same. He manages the same in part because he himself is an inveterate explorer who spends an inordinate amount of time researching Puglia's treasures; on one occasion, I accompanied him to a "new" restaurant in Monopoli and enjoyed one of the finest meals of my life, made even more special because the chef ended up dining with us for nearly an hour (the owner has a clear knack of "connecting" with people).
The property itself -- even in December -- was magnificently lush and uplifting when the sun was shining. In the Spring and Summer, I can easily imagine not wanting to leave the property at all. It was a truly peaceful place to read, relax and "get away from it all." One felt significantly farther than 8 km from Martina Franca.
And on the rare occasion that I needed to be connected, I could be; the wifi connection and speed were astonishingly stable and fast.
The house was surprisingly comfortable, even during chilly December. The wood stove kept the common areas surprisingly warm. The furnishings were more elegant than I had anticipated. Whereas I normally expect "functional but forgettable" furniture, the owner has chosen pieces that I could easily envisage in my own home. I have also found that many owners choose mattresses of questionable quality -- not here; I slept very well!!! The kitchen was very well-equipped, making meals at "home" more than manageable; in fact, weather permitting, I can easily envisage dining at home more than one might be accustomed on vacation due to the superb facilities.
Location-wise, the property is truly at a crossroads. Martina Franca is just 15 minutes away and offers a full range of services and restaurants (hence my reference to "proximate" in the title). Much of Puglia can be reached within an hour. I spent nearly every day of my 9-day visit exploring the various towns of Puglia, often at the suggestion of the owner.
I love this place and will definitely return.
