Fantastic owners who were very welcoming. Food was more than we could eat and was delicious Japanese style food.

An absolutely beautiful house with really very very nice hosts. We had to share the kitchen, bathroom and toilet with the host family but there were no issues whatsoever. The rural location was very very nice. The bedroom was gorgeous.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike. All great.

Hospitality, Japanese style room

This place truly feels like home, from the service, to the comfortable furnishings. As an added touch, I absolutely loved the Japanese crane design accents throughout the property.

There is only one share bathroom.

The room itself was very clean. Prepared and ready when we arrived. Dinner and breakfast was very homey and enjoyable. Quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed a good conversation with our hosts.
Would have preferred more updated bathroom and bathing area, but realize this was certainly made clear prior to booking.

Google maps lead you to the very narrow back street so be careful of that if you are driving there. The owners are very kind and helpful and it is only about a 15 min's drive if you are visiting Takeda castle ruins, which is a must if you are in the area. Even in summer, the view is excellent. Visit early as the sun can get harsh up there. Excellent location for visiting the castle ruins, and if u like to drive through the countryside. (The picture of the ruins surrounding the castle is of course from an opposite mountain so u won't see that view, but still it must be nice to be above the clouds. We went there around 10 am so it was a different view, still gorgeous). The breakfast was excellent and full of variety. Our dinner didn't have much variety, but the taste was good. The very obedient sweet little doggie "Seven" adds to the charm of this retro Japanese Inn. A bit more about reaching the castle ruins - 40 mins walk uphill from the parking lot, but there's a shuttle bus that runs once an hour, or taxis to shorten that walk to 20 mins uphill.. One meter fare to go up, but 2000 yen to come down as the road is one way. Only the 400 year old walls and base are left now but the view is amazing as it's the highest spot around.
It would have been nice if the garden was slightly illuminated at night, which will add a nice touch to the rooms. Perhaps the walls outside the rooms (in the roka leading to the toilet and second room) can use a fresh look. Maybe refurbish the toilet and add a mirror too? Overall, it was a quaint little Japanese Inn and we enjoyed the stay and kind hospitality. Thank you ❤️

A lovely guest house, about a ten minute drive from the viewing location of Takeda castle ruins. Everything was very clean, and the owners were wonderful and kind. They gave us detailed advice about where to go for the best views of the ruins, and they provided us with flashlights for our early hike to the viewing spot.
There are a few supermarkets very close by, one within a walking distance, so even though there were no restaurants with vegan options around, we could easily manage to get satisfactory meals.
Initially we were not given the room that we expected according to the Booking.com description. During the first night, I kept waking up about every 20 minutes, whenever a car passed by. But for the second night we were moved to the room described on Booking.com, and as it faces a garden, and not the road, I had a good night's sleep.

The space is great value and the location convenient. Everything needed was provided. The bedrooms can be locked and there is a small kitchen. Modern bathroom with laundry and very nice towels and linens.
The space is open to the front door. Got a big surprise early one morning going to the bathroom in my pajamas and found the front door open to the street and the owner collecting rubbish unannounced haha
