Amazing beachfront location ❤️ You have a little hike to get there but that makes the place even special! No crowds of tourists around. Stayed in this location for 12 nights ☺️
The best restaurant and pizza in the sunset beach. Trust me, I tested them all!
Lovely hostel, bar and kitchen staff ☺️❤️
Definately would recommend this place for everyone who is looking for a peace but also meeting likeminded people who chose this diamond 🙏
Thanks Sunboo 🤗
Next door a little bit disturbing construction sounds, but they are almost ready with the built 🙏

This place is amazing. Everybody makes you feel at home, there is a very cool vibe and they make sure that you are having a great time. The cabin was amazing.
One thing to be aware is that you are in the middle of the jungle, which means: you are going to hear all the bugs at night, and you need to cross the island in order to get there. I have to say that I am zero adventurous and I complained about these things, and I still loved the experience.
The restaurant is also really good, pizzas were incredible. And it looks like they think of everything to make you have a great time: sand towels, hammocks, games, books you can borrow, there is a place next door for activities...
But the best were the people that run the place.
Honestly, 100% recommend.

Paulo and Cori are the best hosts ever! So friendly and openminded……and you feel the great vibes immidiately you enter the restaurant.
Because of the low-season it’s wasn’t busy, and Paulo one night set up “a movie night” for our kids in the restaurant with popcorn! The evening after they both taught us a really fun card-play, where they-again- included our kids. None of us will never forget our marvellous stay at the SunBoo.
Beautiful place and beautiful people❤️!
We like’d it all.

Magnifique ! On se sent tellement heureux. 3 jours formidables mais l’accès se mérite. Beaucoup de bienveillance et on se sent accueilli.
Pas de personnel pour le massage et pour le yoga.

Directly on the beach and well looked after and clean with beautiful hospitality.

The location is great - you definitely want to be on this side of the island! It is worth the hike. The beach is quiet and the sea much calmer than at Saracen Bay. Sunboo has a really nice spot, with lots of hamacs and tables to watch the sunset, and generally a nice vibe. The food at Sunboo is probably also the best on the island (after having tried the other places). They offer free water refills too. Staff are friendly and attentive. Very nice shower gel and shampoo by Bodia, a local organic brand, provided in the bathroom. Right next door is where you can book activities and rent kayaks - we did the plankton trip and took a kayak out for a couple of hours for some snorkelling. We generally had a very relaxing stay!
Our negative comments are generally minor things as on the whole we were very satisfied!
The mattress on our bed sagged in the middle, so could have been more comfortable.
The shower is only cold, but that’s not a huge problem because it’s hot and you can also swim in the sea.
The bungalows are open structures in some places - thankfully there is a mosquito net, but inevitably you get bitten when taking a shower or going to the toilet…
We were offered to have the room cleaned on the day after we arrived, and we declined, and we’re surprised it was never offered again…
No extra hand towels or beach towels provided. We had our own beach towels, but a hand towel could have been useful.

Five star service by delightful hosts. Magical location, comfortable bungalows and terrific food and wine. Impossible to fault.

It’s like a little piece of paradise, separated from the busier part of the island through a jungle trek. Staff is just awesome!
Nothing.

Mostly everything: stunning beach location.
Although I accept that not having a WiFi connection to be part of total relaxation and holiday spirit it iis however extremely difficult to plan the rest of your trip if you do not have access to the internet. (Bear in mind that cellular connection is weak/nonexistent on part of the island)
Make sure that you plan your arrival from the nearest pier to the property - you will be better getting there by boat. The walk through the jungle path is the only other option and difficult to do if you are carrying heavy luggage.

We absolutely loved our stay at SUNBOO Bungalows.
The bungalows are very clean and comfortable. We loved the local and qualitative body soap and shampoo in the bathroom (such a great smell). There is a fan in the room which makes the nights more comfortable. Staff is caring and friendly. The real asset of this place is the stunning beach! Sunset beach is definitely the most pretty and peaceful beach of the island. They propose yoga courses which is great! We would definitely stay at this place again if we come back to Koh Rong Sanloem!

So pleased we chose Sunboo and Sunset Beach! Paolo, Corrie, Nadja and Ariana were delightful hosts - always helpful, full of suggestions, great to talk to, and generally made us feel so welcome. Yoga with Corrie was a real highlight - she put so much effort and attention into it. The beach is stunning and the Sunboo team and the other properties on the beach make loads of effort to keep it clean and pristine. Our bungalow was cosy, comfortable and we enjoyed the semi-outdoor bathroom. The food was really delicious and great quality. We found the walk over from Saracen Bay fine (20-25 mins for us) and well worth it for a more secluded and quieter beach. It was also lovely to have the options of the other guesthouse restaurants on the beach with different cuisines, and Sunset Adventures nextdoor renting out kayaks etc. We had a wonderful time - highly recommended!
Food and drink prices are definitely a little higher on the island than the mainland, but we were expecting that and the quality of the food at Sunboo was very high. The room got quite hot without aircon, but again we were expecting that - and found that opening the windows at night helped.

This is a special place to stay on a very special remote beach!
The staff are exceptionally warm and welcoming, they really stand out for their care and hospitality. Thank you Ray, Paulo, Nadia and Cory.
Great location right on the beach with plenty of hammocks to hang out in, beach mats to borrow and free water refills.
Nice spacious restaurant with good food.
Lovely products in the bathroom!
Room was clean, simple and quiet and I slept really well.
I hope to return.
I loved it all and hope to come back some day

It's hard to go wrong when you're staying almost alone at a beautiful beach with nothing to bother you but the occasional gecko chirping. But Cori and Paulo made the experience even better, with their easy-going, caring, make-sure-we're happy mindset. We would have liked to stay just to hang out with this lovely couple, and their serving food and drinks, sharing stories and music, offer for movie or game night (which we took them up on) made the beach and sunset that much more perfect. The hike in and out adds to the story, and was well worth the paradise that lay in store for us at the other side of Koh Rong Sanloem.

Beautiful beach! Incredibly nice and attentive hosts. We enjoyed free Yoga classes each morning from 7-8:30 with a view of the beach taught by one of the owners. Good food (esp recommend the clams and the passionfruit mojitos!). We also borrowed snorkeling gear for a trip to Lazy Beach. Very fun.
The room isn't air conditioned and in July it was a little too hot for our comfort even with the fan. My wife was feeling a little sick...so would have been nice to have AC!

The location of the bungalows is stunning. The staff were incredibly hospitable and fun to talk to. The food was excellent.
There was a dry, crumbly substance on my bed when I first arrived, and I had to brush it all off by hand before sleeping in it.

I've stayed here a few times and left reviews before so I won't do another full one except to say all the reviews here are correct: it's pretty close to perfect.
If you have anything weird about bugs, lizards, etc in your room, this is NOT the place for you. That's absolutely not a dig at the property, I just feel like this is a very very special stay for people who want to be close to nature and really truly zone out and relax away from the world. If you need daily news updates and pack a big suitcase to travel, stay on the other side.

one of the best bungalows I have been to. This couple which is running the bungalows is super friendly. we first had a beautiful bungalow in the first row, after 2 days we got a „garden bungalow“ which is still at the beach with sea view.
Food is very delicious. especially the breakfast was amazing! This is seriously the best place to relax. No Wifi, no motors - only nature and you. We loved it!
The garden bungalow was very dirty when we entered. We told them about it and after we came back from the beach the room was clean and we had a new mosquito net as the other had a few holes.
We loved to stay there anyway!

The beach was amazing, it was worth the walk. There were not many people as it's difficult to reach and this made it even better. The food at the restaurant was good , i didn't need to go to any other restaurant around during the 4 days I spent there. I also recommend the yoga class in the morning! They are building a new road and I'm sure it would never be the same once it would be reachable easily so i highly recommend to go there asap.
Despite the things i would mention below, i would still come back if i have the opportunity to do it because it's really worth it.
I was staying in a dorm and i have to say it was not comfy and the cleaninness was not the best. It was hard to sleep because it was very hot during night (there is a small fan but we could barely feel it). There were few insects and bugs (which is ok and normal because it's in the middle of the jungle and this was not bothering) but we found once a huge coachroch below the bed sheet . Keep in your mind that there's no WiFi and even if you have a local simcard it wouldn't work or barely work, which is perfect if you wanna disconnect a bit but if you have to work and need internet you have to go to the other side of the island.
Few recommandations before going there:
1- read properly the email that you would receive from the hotel once you book, they explain how to reach and which boat company is dropping off closer to the hotel ( i got lost and i didn't take the right company and it took me 1:45 to reach but in reality it's around 45 minutes/1 hour)
2- bring earplugs if you're sensitive about the noise in general because you would hear the sound of the waves and the insects (which is also pleasant)

amazing location if your willing to walk there (or don't mind paying for a boat taxi). Directly on a quiet, beautifull beach with white sand and crystal clear water with very few people. There are some great places for snorkeling nearby if you want to use the free gear offered and hammocks directly at the beach. No wi-fi but if you need it you can buy a drink at the scuba shop next door to get access to theirs. They seem to make an effort to reduce their impact on the environment (solar energy, everyone gets a glas bottle they can refill with cold drinking water as often as they want etc.) and the staff was very welcoming and friendly.
not a problem for me but be prepared that the dorms are pretty basic and have thin walls so you can hear the wildlife quite loudly. I thought that the gecko living in the restroom was pretty amazing but that might not be everyone's reaction. My only real problem was that the electricity was turned off for a few hours every night and it got pretty hot without the ventilator, but i think thats not that unusual for the more remote islands. The prices for food are also pretty high (this is true for all the places on this beach).

The location is amazing, away from the bustle of Saracen Bay. Not a party place, fantastic to chill and enjoy the beach and ocean. Great snorkeling with coral and tropical fish at the headlands and they provide snorkeling gear so no need to cart your own. Loved being able to do yoga in the mornings and have a beer watching the sunset in the afternoons. Great place to relax for a few days after hectic travelling. Sun Boo staff are lovely and made us feel very welcome. It's a great little community at Sunset beach.

Loved the staff and the location is incredible!!! The most relaxing place on earth. Very well looked after from the minute I arrived.
A few pictures showing how to get to it would be nice, as the path is hard to follow due to construction in the centre of the island. Got a little lost on my way there (and therefore very hot and sweaty!)

There are very few places like this left in the world! A beach where you can stay that is not accessible by car. It is stunningly beautiful, calm and peaceful. Cory, Nadia and Paolo run Sunboo brilliantly - wonderful daily yoga classes, great food and drink and sounds in the bar/restaurant area. As a guest you’re made to feel part if the lovely community they have created on the beach. We felt very blessed to have stayed there.
The walk over the track was a bit challenging but completely worth it.

Wonderful place to rest. The beach is sublime. The staff was lovely to me and really attentive. I loved spending time in the evening under the big and beautiful bamboo structure. The food was also excellent. You can reach sunset bay by the jungle trail from saracen bay. Great cooperation between the different managers of the hotels, I appreciated the family and relaxed atmosphere.

the welcoming of the hosts, the location is great, food is delicious, i enjoyed my stay. thank you
