This stay started with the greeting of a white front storm door that was dirty with a bunch of chipped paint. The primary bedroom has a king size bed with a queen size bed stuck in the corner. The listing and pictures leads you to believe the queen is in a separate room. The shower in the primary bath does not work and it was only after our stay concluded that I received the complete “special instructions” for working the primary shower. As part of the initial information received for your stay, you only receive part of the instructions, not enough to actually operate the shower. It’s a shower. Why make it complicated? The tub in the primary has a lot of hard water calcium stains as does the sink faucet on the main level bathroom. The shower on the main level is cruise ship sized. It is barely big enough for an adult to move around. The windows are dirty and foggy. Floors are uneven. The host provides unhelpful AI responses that are repetitively the same rather than actually engaging with you to answer your questions. The stairs to the primary in the loft are very steep, narrow, and dangerous. If you come in at night the lighting for these stairs is non-existent and extremely dangerous to navigate. You literally cannot see where you are walking up these steep and narrow stairs. This house is very overpriced, poorly maintained, with little thought given to how to be a quality host. I cannot recommend anyone to stay here, especially for the price.

The host knew that we were a group of six 80 year old women looking for a five bedroom house. Two of the bedrooms have to be accessed by going outside and down steep stairs, like a separate apartment…no inside stairs leading downstairs. This meant having to go outside in the rain to get to the basement bedrooms. Nothing in the description specifically says that. The floors are uneven, there are not adequate pots and pans in the kitchen, lower cabinet door missing, the seals in the large upper windows in the great room are broken and you can’t see through them. Many of the mattresses are very uncomfortable. I could keep going. We paid a premium for this property and it is the farthest thing from premium that we’ve ever rented. On the positive side, the view is wonderful and the outside is beautifully kept.

This was our second year staying at Splendor on the Lake and yet again we loved it. While there are a few things around the house that could use updating (some lighting and patio furniture) the house is extremely comfortable, peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. Can’t beat the location and the private beach area and docks are outstanding. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We had a group of 6 from all over the country - we enjoyed the property very much - right on lake. It was very clean with a very well stocked kitchen. There were plenty of water toys and very close to boat rental places. The view was great. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck

One of the best locations on lake Norman! The house is older, but has been adequately updated. The cove is very protected, yet you are only seconds from the main lake. 2 restaurants on the lake are only 5 minutes away, as is a Marina for fuel and a boat ramp.

2 boat slips and lake area was wonderful. 2 kayaks and paddle boards for us to use as well as a bunch of floaties. Small beach was perfect to just float in the water after boating. Wrap around deck was awesome with the great views of the lake.

We had a wonderful lake week at the property. The house is just as described and was very comfortable for me, my husband and our friends. The house is located on a beautiful point with lake access on a quiet cove and close to marinas, swim spots and great fishing. We loved our stay and would happily return next year!
