About this cottage rental
Ocean views across from the beach access! Spending the day at the beach was never easier; easy to set up a tent and bring coolers & chairs. Bring your favorite book and never leave! Retreat back to the spacious house to start your seafood dinner and drinks in a well-equipped chef's kitchen with new appliances and gas stove. Dine outdoors with ocean views & sea breezes in the screened-in porch with expandable pottery barn table, or air conditioned indoors on a big farm table.
So many unique spaces to utilize such as screened in porch, sun room with couch and bistro table and chairs, living room & master bedroom with televisions (we have YouTube TV with local network channels plus cable channels, and high speed internet with streaming device to access Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or your own cable channels by using your personalized subscriptions from home), 3 Dining areas (Screened in Porch, Dining Room, and under house patio setup). Charcoal grill available (bring/buy charcoal). Plenty of room under the house for the kids to ride bikes, play cornhole, etc.
This home is available to rent daily during the Spring, Fall & Winter (2 night stay required) or in the summer by the week (4 night minimum) from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Contact me with any questions!
About us: We LOVE the coast, there's no getting around it. The ocean, the inlets, the island, the history, the beach, the seafood, the sun, the waves, the sunrises, the sunsets - There is simply no place like it!!
Other Details on the House: Of the 4 bedroom closets, only 2 are locked owner closets. There is a baby pack n play available in one of the closets, as well as a child high-chair. Comforters and pillows are on all beds. You may bring your own sheets or rent them from Edisto Essentials (they rent, deliver, and pickup anything else you may need during your stay on the island).
My property managers are available should you need something attended to at the home.
Because of the higher salt content on the Island, we and the city have installed RO (reverse osmosis) systems. No need for bottled water.
Feel free to use the chairs located in the double shower storage area on the beach. They have seen better days, but they are functional. If you have need for more, call Edisto Essentials to rent, purchase at the Food Lion, or bring more from home.
Charcoal grill is available to use under house. Bring your own charcoal or buy at the Bi-Lo Grocery Store. Utensils are located in the kitchen drawers.
Check in is 4pm. Check out is 10AM.
We have keypad entry on the front door lock. Easy in with a 4 digit code.

This home is perfect for a gathering of families! Edisto is such a charming little town, and Ryan was incredibly responsive, offering great local tips to help us make the most of our stay. We had a mix of kids (ages 1 to 6) and six adults, and the house had everything we needed, including a high chair, to keep everyone comfortable. The layout is fantastic, with spacious areas for spending time together, and the cozy, thoughtfully curated decor made it feel like a home away from home.

We had a wonderful time in Edisto and always do. The house is nice and spacious. But the AC is not compatible for the size of the house/amount of windows. The temperature in the house was in the 80’s late in the afternoon everyday despite being set to 70. At night, the house would cool back off sometime in the wee hours of the morning. The host stated that it was set to a schedule and did not run all day and that is why it was so hot. He stated that he deleted the schedules and it should cool off. (It had run that day, we could hear it and feel it blowing.) But the next day it heated up again to 81 in the house. For as much as we paid to stay for 4 nights, you should expect to be comfortable, especially since we had small children as well. Having good AC is very important when vacationing in the south in August!

This was our first visit back to Edisto since my husband died. Our two boys grew up visiting Edisto several times a year but now they live on the west coast. They wanted their own children to see the beach they loved so much. It was a huge success and they want to go back next year! wsuccess

Our family had the best time at Pelican Alley! Plenty of room, all the cookware you need in the kitchen, centrally located and great views for being across the street! We are already talking about booking again next year!

We just stayed here from Wednesday to Sunday. It was so nice that the owner was able to work with us on a long weekend instead of a full seven days. The location was perfect and the house was even better. It was perfectly laid out. We had dinner on the porch every night and relaxed in the sunroom and the living room in the morning. The kitchen was well stocked and the air condition worked great. The beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and again and again. :-)

The extendable dining-room table was roomy even for our group of 9 and could have held more. If you want mealtime conversation with your whole group, this is the place to stay. Also, whenever your big group has both full bathrooms in use, it's great to have the half-bath as a third option. All 3 baths are accessible from the hallway. And there's a big enclosed outdoor shower. Ocean can
be seen from nearly everywhere in the house [except 1 bedroom, hall, and bathrooms]. One disadvantage: the 1-lane driveway may require some shuffling of cars--we had 3--but Cheehaw has almost no traffic, so on-street parking is possible.

My husband and I LOVED Pelican Alley and truly had a wonderful vacation. It was great waking up to that beautiful sunrise from the Master Bedroom and enjoying the peaceful screened in porch in the evenings. Ryan was. Great host and we hope to return in the future!

I came back to Edisto for the third time for my birthday week. This house was the perfect size for my group. It was right across the beach (and a public beach access) making it quick and simple to get to the beach. The house was clean, the property manager was very responsive, and we loved our stay!

All is fine except that the capacity of tthe air conditioning is insufficient to handle these hot days and nights. The filters were nit clean jut even after cleaning the system simply could not keep up. Every effort was made ti conserve the cool air even to restricting passage between inside and outside to the absolute minimum. It appears that the house incurred some additions that expanded the size without a corresponding increase in cooling capacity. Perhaps it is adequate in the Spring or Fall but it clearly vannot handle the very hot days of Mid-July. We would not rent this house again for use during the summer monthd.

The photos accurately portray the home, which was clean, open, and bright! We loved walking just across the street to the beach - so convenient! Even the neighbors were nice.

We made a last minute decision to go visit Charleston SC and Savanna GA. The property was located in between both destinations giving us an opportunity to see both.
Property was very clean, the host Ryan was very kind in allowing us the use of some extras things that we didn’t have with us. His recommendations for places or things to do was spot on!
We had a great time and would recommend the property to others.

We stayed 3 days in February. The house was very clean and everything was working correctly. The beach is close and the kitchen is very well equipped. The information sent us in advance was extremely helpful. There are a few cosmetic problems, but they were minor and didn’t affect the function of the house. The house is set back a little from the main road which reduces road noise.

This was the perfect getaway weekend in the Fall it was amazingly balmy for walks on the beach, shell collecting, and watching beautiful sunsets over the marsh. We cooked some very fresh seafood and played games on the screened in porch what a way to relax.

Wonderful place for a group retreat
We so enjoyed our stay… we had 8 women and it was a perfect fit. Plenty of room to spread out for a time of solitude and great space for group meetings! Short walk to the beach and biking distance to the 3 gulls ice cream shop or sea Cow Eatery… both essentials for any trip!

Beyond Expectations
We were excited to finally have time away to enjoy some warmer weather and be close to the ocean. This property and Edisto Island in general are as perfect as I've ever experienced. It was larger than expected, clean, and had everything we needed. We even got to experience catching and eating crab. Being on a side road yet right across from the public beach access was perfect as you didn't have to plan to go to the beach... you just went! Will for sure be booking this property soon.

Great time at a great property!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. Everything was just as advertised! Very nice appliances and dishes. We loved spending time on the screened porch looking out at the ocean. Very convenient location with a super easy and quick walk to the beach access. The master bedroom was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of seating for meals and relaxing. Very clean. We will stay there again!

Perfect location and a lovely, well-appointed home.
Five women, seventy plus, rented the home for a retreat. We enjoyed our evening sunset cruise on Scott’s Creek, our walk at Botnay Bay, our bike ride through the State Park and the
fresh seafood at McConkey’s, Whaley’s and Coots. Fantastic time of the year to enjoy Edisto Beach.

We rented the property in celebration of my husband's 79th birthday. Absolutely PERFECT location for bike riding! You park your car and bike or walk everywhere. The suggestion of Whaley's...on a warm, sunny day in March is a "two thumbs up"! Walk across the street after dark and marvel at the stars over the ocean. The beach truly is "across the street". We, like others stated, had a few hiccups...some things in the bathroom and the kitchen were not quite as clean as I would have hoped...but nothing earth shattering...well...except when the water went out for 12 hours! But that wasn't the hosts' fault! It just made for a story to share about our trip. Be sure and hit Kings Farm Market on the way into the Island. They have frozen foods that are so good...require no effort...and allow for "good times" rather than "cooking and cleaning" times. And know that there are...steps. 19, in fact. The trip carrying your baggage, food, linens, wine!, is sssooooo worth the trip. Enjoy the moments.

Better Than Advertised
This VRBO property was perfect for our family. The living area/kitchen/screened porch were open concept making for a wonderful family experience. The views of the ocean were stunning and what was the most unexpected benefit was being on a side street that was not only quieter but very convenient getting around town to restaurants, shopping, and sites of interest. We would definitely come back. The owners were very communicative and wonderful.

Simple and property owner good to work with.

No problems with renting through VRBO. Payments easily accomplished with reminders. Owner very concise with instructions. Only problem we had was a little difficult getting luggage and supplies up stairs since we all are near 70. Going up and down stairs without other things in hands was fine. Very clean, attractive decor.
