Great location in city centre, in a beautiful historic building
The price is not justified by the quality of service or of the facility. It is old but not well maintained! The furniture looked dirty not retro, the bed was uncomfortable and squeaky, the air conditioner did not work properly and there is no elevator. Dragging luggage up and doen narrow stairs is not a 4 star experience.

Location and beauty! It was quiet and safe.

I can say nothing but the best about the staff in hotel. All of them was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Hotel building is 140 years old and excellent kept, feeling inside is like you went back in time in a very good way :) Bathroom was beautiful and also rather big. Extra bed was real bed, not sofa that opens. Hotel is only few steps away from University square and old town which is great destination for afternoon walk. Hotel garden with the bar was great and in the shade. We will return to the hotel for sure.
There could be more storage in the room, only one closet and three of us. Upper floor AC in hallway could be working, it was rather hot in the hotel when you climb up. Extra bed was in direction of AC so we couldn't run it in the evening and weather was blazing hot. All of this actually we wouldn't notice if it wasn't 37 degrees Celsius in the town, so this is just a information for hotel management :)

Spacious and comfy room. Nice location near the old town. Parking on the street in front of the hotel.
The shower drain was super slow (clogged maybe).

From the moment we arrived at the Grand Boutique Hotel, we felt welcome and at home. The location of the hotel is in a district with quite a few shabby buildings, some in need of a bit of paint and repair, but the hotel is spic and span. We loved the garden, which is shaded by trees and set back from noisy roads. We also loved the retro style of the place, including the ornate wrought iron door, which had a handle that kept coming off! We stayed in the standalone 'villa' in the garden, which had the advantage of keeping us private and separating us from other guests. This is really nicely furnished and comfortable, although perhaps we would have appreciated a mattress without plastic protector on it. The location is great for getting anywhere in central Bucharest, and we made the most of the easy links by metro to get out and see as much of the city as possible. The front desk staff were so helpful with booking trains and finding us food late at nigh when we first arrived. Lovely people. The lady who served breakfast was, if anything, even friendlier - she really couldn't do enough to please and the breakfast was great.
As mentioned, the bed was comfortable but could do without the plastic protector on it. The width of the bedroom was perhaps a little narrow.

A true masterpiece of belle epoque in Bucharest, very kind and helpful staff, delicous breakfast

It is located in a old building, nice from outside, but inside……..
I chose this hotel because it was close to center but it was a mistake
I tried to cancel the reservation but hotel didn’t allow to do this ( even if I spoke with booking on phone)
So, we stayed only one night.
Everything in the hotel is very old, it isn’t small nice, in the room is very hot, dark
Never again!!!

Friendly staff, great location in a wonderful building! The hotel is minutes from the University and the old town.
Shower could have been larger and the sink tap a bit too long for the sink but these are minor details!

We loved the style, the decor, the ambiance. I mean if u want style, this hotel oozes it. The room was also huge, the bathroom was lovely. SOME (not all) of the staff were lovely and helpful. Free coffee on order downstairs. The neighbourhood is an easy 15 min walk into town and near main tram lines. Free street parking was easy to find ... loads of it BUT ...
... free street parking was easy to find and LOADS of space. BUT semi- derelict buildings opposite the hotel and the sides of the street stank of urine. Lot of homeless around. So we actually moved the car as close to the hotel as possible ... like right next to the front gate. We didnt want to leave our bags in the car for safety concerns so we had to hump all our luggage into the hotel (up some stairs) ourselves, and then up 2 further flights of stairs to the room. The same but downwards when we left ... noone to help. 2 heavy suicases, 2 moderate bags, 1 month worth of travelling paraphenalia, and ZERO help. Up and down the stairs multiple times. When we checked in the guy on reception was arrogant and stuck up. He didnt notice the quality items (watches, pens etc.) ... just the old white guy with an asian wife. Arrogant and rude.. I mean he works as a hotel receptionist .. nothing wrong with that .. but I mean! That said, the other 2 desk staff at night were lovely. Altho the room was huge, basic ammenities missing such as a kettle and tea making facilities. Not even free water in the room. We used both complementary soaps, and they were not replaced. Overall .. TERRIBLE standard of service. We didnt take the breakfast (18€ per guest) cos we could do much better outside (we found a lovely French style cafe in town at half the price.) There is an auto opening and locking gate for the hotel ... understandable in this beighbourhood ... need t ring a bell for reception to open the gate. One evening were rang the bell multiple times ... no one there. Aftrr 5 mins I called and got an answer. Another time in the morning I couldnt get an answer ... luckily a guest was leaving and she opened the gate for me. This hotel trys to be something special regarding style ... and succeeds ..but this is all negated by bad service. No decent restaurants or shops near the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent. It offered plenty of choice. Very nice service. Staff was extremely helpful during our stay.
Needed a bit more room in the bedroom and perhaps the electrical plugs could have been better situated near the bed.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful. The location was ideal and the facilities were good. We liked the bar where we were able to sit and enjoy tea and coffee in the evenings - though they were expensive! The rooms were very pleasant and the decor of the hotel was impressive. The bed was comfortable too.
Everything was fine.

The interior of this classical building is absolutely stunning. it felt like stepping back in time to a glamorous era.
it is after all a 100year old building which meant that not everything worked perfectly with drainage etc but the staff were quick to attend to the issue once reported.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and my room was large and very comfortable.

Charming 100 years old mini-castle, period design and furniture
The wooden parquet is a bit too squeaky. I’m sure something can be done about it
4.3
The hotel is near the city center (10 min by feet). It was clean and staff were very kind.
The hot water in the shower arrived after more then five minutes you started it. The room was too hot in the night and after two days we had to ask for shower gel and shampoo since they were finished and not substituted. The staff gave us new ones immediately, I have to say.
4.3
The rooms are improvised and very small, the room has the same size as the bathroom, which does not meet the requirements of the 21st century.
4.3
Old style rooms where great. Comfy and stylish
4.3
The location is excellent, staff is very helpful and friendly. We initially had a cleaning service issue, but they did their best to improve and offer the desired comfort.
They can be a bit pickier when cleaning up the rooms. The floor was a bit sticky.

The old world ambiance is gorgeous! Several evenings violin music filled the air with restful calm. The staff and facilities outstanding. I'd love to return!
