About this farm stay rental
The house forms part of the oldest wing of Le Bagnaie, a 300 year old farm on a secluded hilltop, which was converted into 8 privately owned houses in 1990. All are beautifully restored in traditional rustic style with exposed beams, old terracotta floors and open fires, together with the modern convenience of superb marble bathrooms and central heating. Each house has its own paved terrace, garden and the shared facility of beautiful grounds, including a magnificent swimming pool, a children's pool, an all-weather tennis court and boules court. There are outstanding views of the surrounding countryside.

My third stay at Le Bagnaie did not disappoint. The villa is just as described, very comfortable and well set up. An idyllic location with a great pool.

This property checked ALL the boxes for the Tuscan portion of our vacation. We were excitedly impressed just driving up to it. It sits stately on a hill, and overlooks the surrounding beautiful Tuscan countryside. The well-maintained grounds are impeccable! We spent a great deal of time on lounge chairs by the amazing pool, overlooking views that belong on postcards. This genuine Tuscan villa provided plenty of space for the four of us (2 couples). It was very clean, well-equipped, and exceeded our expectations. Even though it is one of 8 units on the property, it felt very private. Our courteous hosts, Emma and Paul communicated very well, and were extremely helpful with our pre-trip planning. Jacky, our very attentive (local) go-to person, was fantastic !
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Casa del Fico… It was sad to leave this magical place.

We had 4 people in our party. We stayed for 5 nights. Villa was absolutely beautiful! Views from veranda and patio area were stunning!
Villa was decorated nicely and had a lot of basic provisions. The property manager Jacky was a lovey lady and very helpful! . Loved our time there and plan to return!

Amazing scenery. Believe all the pictures. Saw porcupines, wild boars with offspring and the town Castellina in Chiante is absolutely charming. We drove to Tuscany only to find we already had the same gorgeous vistas from the villa.
Serena's cooking is simply legendary. Far better than any restaurant. Her zucchini flowers were a huge hit. Thanks again Serena. We were lucky enough to have her cook for us 3 nights! You do need GPS and patience on the last bit of road.

Everything was perfect! The owners Emma & Paul are really helpfull, quick to react and friendly. The house manager is available but not intrusive, she makes sure everything is done to make your stay as confortable as possible. The house, appart from being fully equipped, is nicely decorated and have a lot charm. It has kept its history. The pool is giant, clean and beautiful and the long chairs are plenty. The location is strategic near Siena, Firenze and every smaller places to visit. But all those points are nothing compare to the breathtaking view you get from the top of that hill. From the pool or the south west side of the property the landscape is amazing! We were at first disappointed to not see that view from our terrace but being in the shadow is really nice during the Italian's summer, I can only recommand to stay at la Bagnaie!

Heaven on earth!
Le Bagnaie is the most beautiful place to relax and unwind while travelling through Italy. So picture perfect and serene!
The pictures do not do it justice...it exieded all our expectations and more. Our beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms are stunning. Please have the lovely Serena cook a meal for you. So beautifully prepared with love and graciously presented. We would have stayed much longer if we had had the time. We will definitely be returning and staying for at least 10 days or more. Thank you to Paul, Emma, Jackie, and Serena for making our family vacation unforgettable.

Ideal Property to Explore Tuscany
This property was even better than we hoped for. We and another couple had plenty of room and privacy in this three bedroom two bath farmhouse.
The grounds of the property are meticulously maintained with the classic Tuscan cypress trees, grape vines, olive trees, flowering plants and even a pomegranate tree bearing fruit adding to the ambiance.
Try as we might, it was almost impossible to capture the beauty of the rolling vine laden hillsides while waiting for the spectacular sunsets which appeared nightly.
The well equipped kitchen had everything we needed to prepare light to complex meals and we were happy that the on site garden offered fresh vegetables for the taking.
As a bonus we took advantage of the offer of Serina who prepared a five course Italian meal for us at a nominal price.
Although one could be happy just staying on this property for a week, Castellina in Chianti was the perfect place to explore the Chianti wine region. The location between the cultural and art capital of Florence and the medieval city of Siena made it easy to take day trips to those cities and other charming villages, wineries and to the coast.
We didn't get a chance to meet the owners, Paul and Emma Tisdale, but they were very responsive and gracious via email and text.
Tuscany was on my bucket list and I assumed it would be a once in a lifetime visit but now I'm not so sure. I would love to do it all again.

Our stay at Le Bagnaie
The property, house, location, and grounds exceeded expectations. The pool, the vegetable garden, and the walks from the house were all wonderful and dinner cooked by Serena was sublime! We hope to return.

Even better than the pictures!
The Villa was better than the photographs on the website! It had the perfect mix of privacy with the added bonus of being social if you wished with the shared pool. Our children made friends immediately and had a fantastic time using the facilities of the Villa.
My son had his 9th birthday at the Villa and we made a special trip to Castillina in Chianti for an amazing cake (they do awesome Gelato too), and then to dinner at one of the great restaurants in the village.
A perfect place to see the local surrounding areas and fall in love with Tuscany. It was always lovely to come back to the Villa and sit and look at the amazing views over a drink or dinner.
The villa had everything that you needed and felt very homely with lovely family touches that have obviously been built up over time.
We don't often say we will go back to the same place but this was a brilliant find. I understand that it is often booked, so we felt very fortunate to have secured a stay.

Magical stay
Era tutto magnifico. Wonderful home, great location, spectacular views. Very near very nice small hill town, Castellina in Chianti, with several good restaurants, nice shopping, excellent grocery shopping. Rough dirt roads to the town and other towns and highway doesn't at all mar stay as homes hilltop location provides spectacular views of countryside. Local manager very helpful and owners very responsive. Perfect for six adults, and kids as pool was a great place to recover after day of visits elsewhere. Near Florence and Siena, both accessible by nearby train. Would recommend without reservation. Had an ant problem on patio and in kitchen I'm sure owners will attempt to resolve.

Beautiful home in Tuscany where you can enjoy the romance and tastes of Italy's wine country.
Centrally located in Tuscany's wine country and high on a hilltop where you can share the magnificent vista of endless grape and olive vineyards. Period Italian furnishings give a sense of times past. Easy access to Pisa, Florence, Siena and many, many smaller, quaint Tuscan communities. Rome only about a 3 hour drive away.
If renting a car, suggest renting a 4-wheel vehicle as the gravel road up to Le Bagnaie from the main highway can washout a bit with rain.

We literally have adored this place and the house was very comfortable, well equipped, and simply warm and welcoming.
The views around Le Bagnaie are exceptionally beautiful and filled us with joy and peaceful emotions at every moment of the day: When opening the shutters in the morning, when going to the vegetable garden for picking up some delicious tomatoes or eggplants for our lunch, when at the pool in the afternoon or early evening, when looking at the sunset in the direction of San Giminiano and looking up at the shooting stars at night!
We enjoyed many going-outs, to Siena, San Giminiano, Volterra, Colle di Val D’Elsa and, as a crowning point, to Panzano to the very special butcher’s restaurant. We especially enjoyed the garden of Casa del Fico, a little paradise which invited to long hours of reading on the lounging chairs. We also had many walks in the immediate vicinity of the house, up to Fonterutoli, sparkled with encounters with deers and boars.
Jackie, Serena and Cosimo were all real treats. Jackie the manager made feel very much “at home”, Serena, the cook prepared us feasts and Cosimo, the gardener, is delightful and charming and deserves the awards of the “ green palms”!
We will come back even though we live so far away, with our sons and grand-children hopefully next times.
Our guests ( friends and family) join us in celebrating the “ravissement” and we will all keep fond memories of these two weeks!

This was a heavenly vacation for our family. Absolutely beautiful setting. Close to many great towns
Owners are gracious and accommodating. You get the true Tuscan experience, relaxing yet close to everything. By far the best part of our Italy trip

Wonderful stay
The unit shares a large property with six other units. But, it is set up so that you are not aware that anyone else is there. (But, we did spend some pleasant time with our "neighbors".) It sits up on a hill top with stunning views. Not right in town but still conveniently located.
The unit is very spacious, very comfortable and well-equipped. We had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful property in a fairy tale location
The house is wonderful and in perfect shape. Around are only hills and vineyards: a breathtaking landscape. We enjoyed the garden and the big swimming pool very much. We could pick our own vegetables (which were super fresh and delicious) from the garden and we were even invited to a winetasting by Ian, one of our lovely neighbours, who owns a small vinyard. Finally, the house is perfectly located, close to
Florence and all the main places of interests, such as Siena and San Gimignano. A fantastic vacation!
P.S.: if you go, make sure to book Serena to cook you dinner for a night. One of the best Italian meals I have ever eaten. And I am Italian!

Tuscan Top Spot
Great location, superb views, central position for travel to anywhere in Tuscany.
Good food, some great restaurants and of course 'The Place' to sample the local wines.

Beautiful spot with fantastic amenities
The property is in an idyllic location. It has a lovely garden to relax in and the swimming pool and tennis court are a real plus. It is well positioned for restaurants and sight seeing (a short drive away) but in a peaceful and rural location with amazing views.
The house is well maintained and has everything you might need.
A very relaxing place to stay.

A great place to relax and explore Tuscany
My family and I spent one week at the property and we all had a great time. We relaxed on some days in the lovely garden and in the huge pool, which the kids enjoyed very much. On other days we travelled to nearby historic towns and local vineyards, making use of the property's ideal location! The regional food was of course great, but even better was the meal cooked for us in house.
We found the property charming, with stunning views, and the amenities generally very good. There is also a community garden which helped us out on occasion.

A little piece of heaven on earth
We had a wonderful holiday in Tuscany. Mainly sightseeing but also some shopping and wine tasting. Best was being able to relax in the confines of Le Bagnaie, this small hilltop complex of 8 villas is a couple of Kms off the main road in more or less perfect isolation. Pool was fantastic - a great size and only a handful of fellow residents in sight. Also, good tennis court and boules.
We made use of a local contact for a full blown Tuscan dining evening and would thoroughly recommend that to anyone.
The villa/farmhouse was clean, tidy and friendly with all the essentials. Some may see it as a problem that there is no TV - not in our case. My personal lizard count was above 30 and the wandering cat just added a lovely slice of something to the experience.
Its Tuscany in July so you have to expect mosquitos and other bitey things so be prepared for that. My only criticism, and its a personal thing I guess, is that the beds were quite hard.

Magnificent stay
I was traveling with my wife and young adult children. Le Bagnaie was a fantastic location, one that you return to.
We rented a car at the Rome airport and had no trouble with the detailed directions provided by the owners. The villa is on a hill reachable by gravel road, which appears to be common in the area.
We made day trips to many places, including Florence, Siena, San Gimigniano, and Cortona. We also spent most late afternoons by the pool in an ideal if setting. The villa itself was extremely comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. We did have Serena, a local, prepare a Tuscan meal for us one night. It was the best meal of our two week trip to Italy.

The happiest place on earth!
Our family of 4 had the most sensational stay in Casa del Fico at Le Bagnaie. The house and grounds are in a great location - close to many quaint towns, restaurants and wineries, as well as a short distance away from major destinations like Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. The house itself was very comfortable and charming. We spent almost all our time outside in the private English-like garden. We especially loved sitting in the garden each morning with our coffee and breakfast. One of our favorite nights over our two week trip was having Serena cook for us at the house. Her food was out of this world delicious! One of our very favorite meals. You mustn't miss out on having her. We plan to be back and bring all our friends! Thanks to the Tisdales for hosting us!

Amazing Tuscan setting! Unparalleled views, beautiful patio and garden area!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The best location to enjoy the sites around Tuscany or to just relax and enjoy a glass of wine on the patio! Home is quite comfortable - great for families. Pool setting (with children's pool), swings, and "community" vegetable garden add to the fun.
5.0 / 5.0
The house and the amenities were even better than we would have expected. The view is breathtaking and the house is well equipped. There are many good wineries in the area where you can tast ( and of course buy) excellent Chianti wine.
It is a good starting point for sightseeing tours to Siena, San Gimigniano and Florence. The pool is also very nice and the perfect place to relax. Although you have to use a gravel road to reach the house, the next supermarket is only 10 minutes away.
One tip: it is possible to hire a local cook. She prepares a fantastic original Tuscany meal.
We can highly recommend this house !
