The location in Ta Van was great, it was exactly where we had planned to be for our stay. The hostel was close to restaurants and an ideal place for trekking.
Lilly was a lovely host and incredibly helpful. She accommodated our request for an early breakfast on the day we left. She organised a wonderful trek for us with a local guide and we had dinner in the hostel on our first night.
The listing isn’t as described. There is no fridge in the room, or safety lock box or seating area. The bathroom is basic with a leaking shower which is difficult to maintain a constant temperature.
Unfortunately the place was not clean. There was dirt and rubbish under the beds from previous guests, the bathroom mirror and shelf were dirty. The mosquito nets were dirty and had lots of holes. The bedding was ok, but we slept in our clothes.
‘Dinner with the family’ - was not with the family, but was in fact with the other guests staying in the hostel. The food was quite good, and we enjoyed the company but were disappointed not to be eating with the family who live there.

Our host Lily and her family are definitely the best thing about this homestay. Such a warm and welcoming family. They did everything to make us feel at home. We really enjoyed our stay and especially the family dinners. If you’re planning on doing a trekking, just ask Lily, she can recommend a good guide.

The family are so kind and welcoming. They prepare a dinner every night which is delicious and happy to help you with whatever you need. Happy water and karaoke are a great combo ;) You can also organise treks to local villages extremely easily, so no need to pre book a trekking package, which added to the already very relaxed atmosphere of the place (and is way more chill than Sapa town)

The first time that I stay at the Homestay, it's so interesting, the room/ bangalow looks simple but comfortable & clean. It's much different from that I thought about it before. The view from the room you can see the terrace field around the house, very naturally.
The host is so friendly & well cook dinner, breakfast for us. Eat local foods, meet local people...
Try & enjoy 😊 I'm sure you will like this place.

Lovely family who made us feel very welcome. You have to pay extra to eat with them, get breakfast etc but its worth it especially as the room was so cheap. Delicious authentic food which they let us help make. Lovely views in the heart of ta van, would highly recommend.
Extra charges came as a slight surprise.
Room very small and hot.

The facility was great and well established.
I was expecting a homestay with one of the ethnic groups (H'mong, Dao) but it wasn't clear online that it was a Vietnamese Homestay. The experience was fine but I definitely had better once. We ate the family dinner but it was awkward and no one really talked.

Really quaint Homestay with a friendly and welcoming family. Don’t forget the family dinner!
Place is just fine, don’t expect anything luxurious.
Unfortunately the town was a bit empty due to virus scares.

This Homestay was our haven in the hills during our time here. Super lovely staff with delicious crepes for breakfast and organised the return of an item I left behind after leaving. The room had electric blankets and massive duvets to keep us warm against the cold. Located within walking distance to the shops and restaurants but also close to a beautiful walk through the rice paddies to a viewpoint. Would 10/10 recommend.

All thing is ok with us, the road bit difficult even you are a good bike drive, because its under construction. So we leaving ealier then we expect. will come back when the road done.
