About this villa rental
"Cascina Sant'Antonino" is a charming country house, recently completely renovated but with a smell of ancient manor house which fascinate; located in the splendid setting of the Alto Monferrato, UNESCO HUMAN HERITAGE,in the center of THE CASTLES ROAD and of THE WINE DISTRIC. Here you are in the middle of the nature, with beautiful flowered gardens, wonderful swimming pool and stunning views of Monviso Mountain and of the highest snowy Alpes (Monte Rosa and Cervino) with sunset not to be missed!!
To reach the house there are about 300 mt of unpaved road and this give to the property even more privacy.
At Cascina Sant’Antonino you can also enjoy an extraordinary view of the hills around: castles, vineyards and a pine forest where you can go to have a walk, with a final view that always astonished also the owners (that are used to see it).
The Portico and the Veranda of the house are fully furnished as areas for 'alfresco' dining and rest. Next to the swimming pool, with a beige plastic liner to reflect the light blue color of the sky there is another nice living area with chairs and sofa under a wooden gazebo with sunbeds and parasol for those who are shade-loving. Others sitting areas under the portico and in the garden. Around the house there are green grass gardens with plants and flowers, where you can chill out and rest.
Many walks by foot, bicycle (several mountain bike trails with own or rented bikes) or car, directly from the house to natural sites - lakes, pine-woods, little churches and castles.
From mediaeval times on, the Ligurian nobility chose to settle, during their holidays, on the hills and in the Castles of the Alto Monferrato, where they found fresh air during the summer, good wine and food, and they could easily join the see in half an hour or the big town of the high Italy.
We can organize for you:
- Typical Italian Aperitivo to have next to the pool, with local product such as wine, cheese, honey , focaccia all made at Km0.
- Alfredo the owner can cook for you some tradicional recipes.
- Truffle hunting or just Truffle eating with a owner's friend.
- MTB tours and lessons
- Unusual and interesting, you can live a very special day, playing with the bow, helped by Giulia, a bow World Champion, that lives in this area, with her dogs, owls and falcons!!! You can eat by her and his husband (her coach in this discipline).
At the house you will find a Info List of very nice Restaurants around the area.
Don’t forget we can suggest you unusual mountain bike trails…in the near pinewood , in the near Lavagnina’s Lakes area or in the wide area of the Natural Park of Capanne di Marcarolo.
You can enjoy antique markets, music, festival in every village as well as the thermal baths in the old Roman town of Acqui Terme.
The Ligurian Riviera, with Portofino, Camogli, Santa Margherita and the famous "5 Terre" is quite near, as the shopping centers of Serravalle Outlet.

A well engineering and beautiful custom villa in the foothills of Mornese! The host was very kind and understanding. We had four kids with us and this was the perfect property. Two local groceries in town make it a very convenient and well rounded stay. The pool was spacious and well kept as well with a salt water system to boot. Local wineries LA Zerba and others made for a special stay. We will be back. Thank you to Donata and her husband for their hospitality!

We loved our stay. Everything about the house was great. We loved the views, the partial remotness of it, the pool (really cooling on the hot days and bigger than we though), the walks. House is very comfortable and big - with many outside seating areas. Kitchen very well equipped. the owner was very helpful - always there to answer any of our questions or advise.

Super Urlaub

I am sad. Sad that we are returning to the UK. Sad that we are going back to work. But most of all, sad that I cannot make Donata and Alfredo an offer that they cannot refuse to sell their property to us! We have concluded that this holiday was like going home. But where everything about home was better than you remembered it. Holidays are a very personal thing but, we found the property to be a 'home from home'. The location is outstanding. Access to the national park with designated routes, exercise circuits, and water fountains, provided the perfect place walk our 'Alfie'. And the views, WOW!!
This was our first attempt at self catering in Italy and we were a little nervous. However we should not have worried. With a wonderful place to stay, local supermarkets, restaurants that use Facebook messenger and Google translate, this is a holiday destination that anyone could enjoy. We have already done the expensive all inclusive holiday thing. This is not that. This was how I could see us spending many lazy, luxurious days to come. We cannot wait to return!

Beautiful house in a lovely location
We were met by Donata who was very welcoming and helpful and showed us around the house and facilities.
This is a really beautiful house which has been decorated as a family home to very high standards. The house and kitchen is well stocked and has everything that you would need for self catering.
There is a good amount of outside space which is private and has great views looking down the valley. Great for relaxing by the pool which was warm in August.
It is well located for visiting the local areas inc Gavi, we had a lovely lunch at a local restaurant Bar Ristorante La Baracca, we also had a lovey evening drink at Villa Sparina in nearby Gavi and bought some amazing fresh pasta at La Casa Del Raviolo.
There is also some great Mountain biking routes in the hills behind the house and there is a good selection of supermarkets nearby in Ovada

Super Location, Terrific Amenities, Great Hosts
The villa is extremely well maintained by Donata and Alfredo. They are warm, friendly and accommodating hosts. The views are spectacular, and from the villa it is an easy walk to Mornese. Wonderful hikes are just steps away, and you can cycle or mtn bike throughout the Piemonte region. Donata went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and is genuinely a gracious person. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated and the amenities have all the comforts of home. We would definitely return.

Perfect setting for incredible holiday.
This is a "have to" destination for anyone thinking of this part of Italy for a holiday. Beautifully furnished everything you could want was there. The gardens and pool idylic. The sunset awe inspiring and the setting so quiet. Donata and Alfredo amazing and went over and beyond when our friends car became bogged. At 18.30 they came out with tow rope to pull them clear. This is a must return to destination. There is nothing to fault

One of the best villas we have stayed in
Lovely villa felt like home from home. Much attention to detail. Amazing views and beautiful pool area to sit and enjoy them from. Spoilt for choice having two eating areas, one outside the kitchen and one by the pool. Donata was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Location was perfect for trips to Milan and Genoa when we could tear ourselves away from the pool. Definitely love to come back.

A perfect Holiday - gorgeous villa in a part of Italy that is great for exploring and relaxing in.
The property is perfectly positioned with gorgeous views towards the sea and the Alps. It is well equipped and has a lovely pool that is great for cooling off when the weather gets too hot! The owners are only ten minutes away so if there is a problem they can be there to help very quickly and they are very helpful.
There are walking and mountain bike trails all around the area and the local towns are very welcoming and hospitable with lots of good local restaurants.
We loved the area as we could get to the coast in an hour - if we wanted to! - or we could just go up into the hills to enjoy the walking and the views which are sensational or we could enjoy lunch by the pool and have a relaxing afternoon in the garden.

Wonderful villa in lovely surroundings
Dear Donata. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home this summer. We had an absolutely perfect stay and we would love to come back if we have the chance.
We were 2 families from Norway with 5 children and the house was just perfect for us.The house is even better than the pictures and you felt at home at once. The view is breathtaking and the poolarea felt like heaven. Pittoresk villages near by and not so far from the sea. Its just the perfect place for a perfect holiday :-)

Superb
We were:
David, Rachel, Zak (8) and Jude (5)
Robyn and Martyn
John (Gramps)
We stayed for seven days. Five key highlights/impressions:
1. Beautiful, immaculately kept villa, on its own, with greats views. Only one other property on the horizon, an inhabited castle around two miles away.
2. Amazing walking/running trails. Search for David Sawyer (Glasgow) on Strava for various routes.
3. Not a massive amount to "see" in the local area meant we relaxed. We drove to some wonderful hill towns, all with a church/castle. Rural Piedmont so few people spoke English. And given we spoke only a tiny bit of Italian, this was bliss.
4. Donata was very helpful. Both couples went out for an evening to local restaurants booked by Donata. We were even advised re: a local cake shop, where we bought the most beautiful ice cream, meringue and cream cake for a joint birthday.
5. Lastly, I joined in a local club running race in Casaleggio on the Thursday. It was that sort of holiday. Bizarrely I missed one at the top of the road in Mornese on the Sunday. Bizarre:O).
Beautiful. Thanks, Donata and Lottie
Best, Dave

Fantastic country house in lovely surroundings
We stayed for a week in this lovely and charming country house.
2 families with 6 children.
With a nice pool area which we could view from the wonderful dining area outside the house, the kids (and adults) basically had all we needed :-)
The view and scenery from the house is fantastic and really relaxing.
The small city was spectacular.
Donata gave us a warm welcome and she was always a 'sms away' to help us, if we needed anything.
We highly recommend this place and have nothing bad to say.
Remember to bring cash.

Lovely family home
We stayed here with three couples and three children under one. It was just perfect for our needs, leading to a relaxing holiday for us all.
Of particular note for us, the communal rooms and outside dining meant we could all look after the kids and then when they were in bed we could have down together for dinner and a glass of local wine. There was plenty of space outside for our son to run around on. And we all enjoyed the swimming pool. We did lots during the week including visiting a vineyard, a walk in the woods, a trip to the town of Gavi and a day at the beach. Plus plenty of relaxing time.
A lovely villa that was perfect for a week away.

Lovely host, lovely house, lovely views
We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the house.....lots of character. Lovely views, a lovely pool, plenty of room for 2 families of 4. Most meals taken on the outside family table, with a few in the local town. A lovely area, especially if you like wine! Would love to return one day soon.

The house is in a beautiful rural location.
We had a wonderful family holiday. Our family decided that the pool had the best view from a pool they had ever experienced. The house is extremely comfortable and really feels like a home from home. There are lots of wonderful places to sit indoors and out and admire the stunning surroundings. Donata was very welcoming and was happy to answer and questions we had. Would highly recommend this villa.

Wonferful holidays in a wonderful villa
A very unique, wonderfully restored villa with breathtaking views. Once here we quickly felt like home; spacious, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the wonderful views of the surrounding hills, the very spacious and elegant rooms, the big and lovely pool, the very private setting. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a wonderful setting Cascina Sant'Antonino is the place for you. The food shopping is superb, the restaurants in the nearby towns are excellent. It is well situated to visit all the nearby Piedmont towns and villages and great for long hikes and walks. The owners are very gracious and very helpful. My friends and I really think to come back other times.

Absolute relaxation in fantastic villa!
We stayed two weeks in july with 2 families ( 4 adults 4 kids 6,9 and 10yrs old) in this beautiful villa located on a hill with fantastic views of the surrounding valley and distant mountains. We felt completely relaxed with all privacy, the owners house is on the same property but out of view and the owners are extremely helpful if required.(Alfredo knows the area very well and showed me some great mtb trails). The villa is extremely well equipped,we did a lot of cooking (from the kitchen there is a good view of the pool and garden, great if you have little children) and ate mostly outside on the big dining table with again great views of pool ,garden and valley. The interior is very well decorated and the bedrooms are beautiful and very spacious with more than enough storage capacity for clothes and stuff. The nearby village (2mins by car) has 2 reasonably good restaurants (very good value for money) and 2 small grocery shops with fresh bread every day of the week. The surrounding area is perfect for hiking and mountain biking.
We had a perfect two weeks vacation in this great villa. One of the best we rented in Italy in 10 years.Thank you Donata and Alfredo for sharing such a beautiful accommodation.

Beautiful, relaxing villa
This is a very beautiful villa in a stunning location; it is adjacent to the national park where you will find views across to the alps on a clear day - excellent for walking and great wildlife, especially insects. The air smells and feels deliciously clean and fresh, a great escape from the city.
The villa itself is very comfortable, tastefully decorated in soothing organic colours. The beds were comfortable, all complete with charmingly embroidered crisp white linen. Lovely bathrooms with plenty of hot water. There is also plenty of pretty and comfortable space outside to sit in sun or shade to relax. The pool is a good size and well adorned around, also with spectacular views.
The local village, with all the basic supplies, is a short walk from the villa, about 20mins. You can stroll in to buy gorgeous fresh bread and pastries each morning.
You will find the villa along an uneven track, there is plenty of privacy despite the owners not being far down the hill if you need any help.
We had a lovely evening, booked by the owner, wine tasting along with a sumptuous dinner which was excellent value and great fun for all the family.
