Exceeded expectations in every way.

A Great Location. the room was beautiful. Extra comfortable bed. The staff couldn't have been better or more helpful. Loved that they provided bottled water every day. ANd the room had a tea kettle in addition to the Nespresso maker, Nice!

friendly bartenders

I specifically booked a “standard king suite” on booking.com and prepaid over 700/night. the photos on booking.com very clearly show a separate living room and bedroom like any suite. when I checked in I was told I had booked a “junior suite”, which does not even exist among the room types on booking.com. I was put in a regular hotel room — not a two room suite — and the hotel continued to deny that I was in the wrong room. when I looked at the hotel website there is no room that ever costs 700/night. I was refunded $200 total so still effectively paid $600/night for the wrong room. I was asked twice whether I actually wanted housekeeping service and it seemed that we were being a bother by saying yes. the staff did nothing other than make the bed and and drop new towels. empty glasses were left in the room, a shirt we had hanging up to dry was thrown on the ground in a ball and replaced by a towel, etc.

We stayed for Thanksgiving. No meals were available for hotel guests at lunch or dinner if they had not booked separately months in advance for the restaurant. No bar menu. No room service. We had a dog barking continuously for 2 nights until midnight, which did not get solved by staff despite complaints from multiple rooms in the hotel.

Stay marred by theft from my car while it was with the valet parking

Very smart hotel - well located.

Valet parking guy stole my £200 sunglasses - missing when car returned. Hotel not particularly interested/helpful.

That there was no iron in the room. I did not mind using the steam that was available, but the was no stand to hang the clothes from for steaming.

Overall great hotel, but online I booked Mountain View room was given courtyard city view room. Online states a mini bar & room service. The room had neither one of those. So all 3 were reasons I picked this hotel & got none of 3 things I wAnted for $700/night Location was excellent.

Lovely for a downtown Asheville stay..

Overall great elegant place. Being a decorator the details are what matter to me. Nice touch with a clock in the room on the nightstand that had the correct time. Tons of extra towels with washcloths. Valet service for the car. I don’t like rain head showers but the shower was large enough that you could step out of it and not get your hair wet if you didn’t want and still take a nice shower. The lounge and bar area is quite lovely.

The service at breakfast was a bit slow…. The menu was a little over the top. I ordered scrambled eggs.. what I got was eggs with cheese (not cheddar) and garlic to the point they didn’t taste like eggs. The decor was aesthetically lovely but the wood tables were sticky.. the pottery used didn’t seem very conducive to food, the mugs didn’t hold heat so the coffee was instantly cold…again the decorator in me paid attention to small details.

It was a great anniversary get away to an interesting city that we had never visited.

We had drinks in the bar each evening. Loved the atmosphere -- live music was great.
