Old Squam charm is written all over this property. One of the best locations bar none on the lake. Wonderful host and caretaker are there to direct you to all the aspects of the lake and region. We have been coming to the lake for thirty years and this was a very enjoyable family vacation. Highly recommended.

One of the most special places we've ever been

The lake in the fall was spectacular! The place is perfect for the lake- definitely a cottage that makes time slow down, which is perfect for Squam. Great location and quiet. Juliette was a great host.

This was an excellent house to fit our entire family. A beautiful setting on the lake with an abundance of kitchen and dining supplies. A nice large dining area to accommodate our family plus guests. Everything we needed! It was great.

Squam Lake is so beautiful, with the clearest water & spectacular views. We loved having the kayaks, and we also rented two paddleboards for the week. If you are looking for modern & updated, this is not the place for you. But if you love vintage, retro, a piece of history, a step back in time, feeling like you are at summer camp (in the best possible way), then you will love this lake cottage. Open all the windows, to enjoy the views & fresh air! The fireplace is so cozy. Lots of wildlife to see- bald eagles, loons, black bears, lots of birds, turtles. We loved the calls of the loons! Gusto Italian Cafe is so delicious, just 4 miles away. Thank you Tristan, for the new Berkey water filter, it was awesome. Juliette was very accommodating & easy to communicate with. A spectacular setting to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Dartmouth College. Thank you for sharing your special place.

This house blew our expectations. The property is gorgeous, the views are stunning, and the house is beautifully rustic while still offering all of the amenities that you need. Juliette was a pleasure to communicate with and was always available for questions. The house was clean, spacious, and packed full of amazing lake views. The private dock is in direct sunlight all day which is great for sunbathing and swimming (the water was SO clear!). Anyone looking for a peaceful New England getaway should look no further! We are so thankful to have found it!

This is an iconic house that is part of a family camp that is integral to the history of Lake Squam, and when you stay in this house you feel a part of that history. The location and views are magnificent, and provide the perfect sense of a New Hampshire lake vacation, including the sounds of loons in the evening that carry across the quiet lake. The large wood burning fireplace was comforting as the weather was unseasonably cold for a few nights. It was particularly nice to be able to enjoy a vacation with our Labrador Retriever who loved roaming the yard, enjoying the vast views of the lake from the dock, and meeting the caretaker’s friendly dog. Thank you Juliette and Tristan for a wonderful stay.

We settled in to the most quintessential Squam property seamlessly and enjoyed our family-time immensely. Couldn't have asked for more.

West Acres was a perfect getaway! The location on Squam is unmatched with beautiful views, great access to local trails and scenic hikes like Red Hill, and privacy. The house was well with plenty of books and games to enjoy indoors, kayaks with paddles and life jackets for the lake, and kitchen supplies and tools to prepare meals for our group. Juliette and the property’s caretaker were very attentive and helpful with thorough guidelines and so nice to check in mid-week to offer suggestions and see Howe everything was going. We look forward to booking again!

We had an amazing time at the cottage. Tristen, the care taker was wonderful and easy to contact. He greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. We can't wait to go back next year.

The house was exactly as represented on VRBO. Location was stunning. House was reminiscent of the lake home we had when I was a teenager. It had everything you’d ever need including two things I didn’t expect a rental property to have: a charcoal chimney for the Weber grill, and a salad spinner. Every time someone in the kitchen was looking for a utensil and asked if there was one, I just told them to open drawers until they found it. And they always found it! The only thing not found was an egg slicer, and then we laughed at the fact that no one else we know even uses such a thing anymore!🤣🤣. It was a fantastic week at a place that took us away from the world for 7 days. It was exactly what we wanted. Perfect.

True Squam lake cottage with great kayaking...close to shopping and activities in Meredith and Center Harbor. Attentive host. Only drawback was the amount of mosquitos this time of year...made it difficult to he outside for long periods of time, but out on the lake no bugs!!
