About this house rental
This is a shared home. The owner lives on the 3rd floor in a separate suite. There is another guest room on the main level. The bathroom is shared by the one other guest room.
My home is comfortable and inviting. Off the beaten track, my place offers guests quiet and relaxation. The convenient location is just a 10 minute walk to downtown Vineyard Haven shops, restaurants, galleries, market, bus and ferry. There are two beaches within walking distance.
Beautiful setting, leave your car on the mainland. Walk along the beach and thru town to the waiting bus that can take you and your bike anywhere on the island. After a long day at the beach, shopping, fishing or sightseeing, come back and enjoy a cold drink on the deck or a tranquil walk in the woods.
Having been a 50 year resident of Martha's Vineyard I love to show my guests the island by offering tours in the off season (May - June and September and October) I have extensive knowledge of the Island's history and special places. Let me know in advance if you are interested in taking a 4-5 hour tour for a very reasonable rate.
PLEASE NOTE: The state of Massachusetts and the Town of Tisbury have implemented a tax on short term rentals beginning July 1, 2019. Both taxes combined, will total approximately 13% of the price of your VRBO total.

We enjoyed our stay in this pretty home in Tisbury. It was very quiet and peaceful and we had an easy walk to the ferry and town center.

Overall, the stay was pleasant with a cute and clean place, conveniently located close to downtown. The access road could be uncomfortable due to the dirt road access, and GPS might lead you astray, but Nancy provides helpful directions for the best route. Note that the bathroom is shared with one other guest, which I overlooked. However, we had friendly guests sharing, so it wasn't an issue. The room had an AC on the floor which at times was in the way and bit noisy but at times you need that ;). Nancy was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay.

Tisbury stay
My husband & I enjoyed our stay very much. The accomodations were very clean & Inviting. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful after all the hussle & bussle activity of Oak Bluffs
Transportation was an easy walk from our place. Everything we needed was either a short bus ride or a quick walk to Vineyard Haven. Nancy was friendly and very helpful.

Good short weekend spot
Had a great weekend. A few takeaways:
-Private bedroom but everything else shared.
-Was a little thrown off by all doors to the house being unlocked 24/7 but that seems to be protocol for the area.
-We had to find the key to our room (was not made apparent).
-Walk to Vineyard Haven town is manageable (10 mins).

Nice place to stay for a night
I didn’t realize that this would be a totally shared experience— bathroom and all. It was a little awkward to come in and see random people shirtless watching tv but overall it worked out just fine. Just be aware that you DO NOT have your own bathroom and the bedrooms and house are not air conditioned. Otherwise a great place to crash for a night or two!

Nice room
Property is located in a quiet and leafy area, yet at walking distance from Vineyard Haven. You have a room to yourself, but situated at close quarters with another room with high guest turnover. Bathroom is shared with the other guests. Nicely appointed kitchen and living / dining area for common use. No a/c but good wifi. Host Nancy is welcoming and accommodating. No perfumes/ fragrances allowed in the building. In conclusion, great rental, if privacy is not too much an issue.

Great Home Away From Home on Martha’s Vineyard. Large, clean, comfortable and convenient.
Lovely home nestled in the trees. A quick walk into town. Comfortable room and access to the entire main floor including kitchen, living room, dining room and deck. Enjoyed watching visiting deer and a flock of wild turkeys who wandered thru the yard. Took advantage of the nearby bakery and grocery to eat breakfast in. Large bathroom. Very very clean. Felt quite at home. Very close to the bus stop and taxi service is also very convenient. Nancy provides info on the island and recommendations. Just 5 houses up an unpaved road in a wooded area. Nancy provides a flashlight if you plan to walk home from the bus after dark. But taxis are also very inexpensive. And nothing is really very far away. Great accommodations! All conveniences.

Quiet, relaxing haven
Everything was pretty awesome about my four-day stay in Vineyard Haven. The home was a close 9 minute walk to town. It was secluded and quiet. The room was spotless and comfy. And the entire home was beautifully decorated and relaxing. The only real draw back was that because the house is in the woods, if you don't drive (as I don't), you have to rely on the bus or Ubers to get around and Uber gets super confused trying to find this lovely home, as it is off a dirt road. But if you want a quiet, secluded place to get some writing done, you can't go wrong here. Totally loved my stay, Nancy was a great host (only saw her once, but she laid out all the instructions perfectly, so I had no real questions), and you won't be disappointed if you stay in her wonderful, warm, gorgeous wooded home.

An Excellent Stay!
An excellent property on a secluded lane in the woods. Just what I was looking for after long days shopping, walking, eating and drinking in the major hubs of Martha’s Vineyard. I was very pleased and felt I had the whole house to myself!

Very nice home-away-from-home
We really enjoyed our visit to the Vineyard, and this home was a big part of that. The bedroom was just as pictured, with plenty of space for things. The entire home was very clean and spacious. We also enjoyed using the deck area, and even saw a deer the morning before we left! It’s a very short walk to Vineyard Haven. There were lots of nice places to eat nearby, although I’ll have to admit, my favorite was the toasted coconut ice cream from Bernie’s homemade ice cream. Also, check out Biscuits in Oak Bluffs for a fabulous breakfast, and the Right Fork Diner at the Katama Airpark.
Thank you for allowing us to use your home!
