About this house rental
As front beach as you can get! Designed in the style of a Mediterranean Villa, the home's unique architecture affords panoramic views from nearly every room in the house. A spiral staircase takes you up through 3 levels. Each floor has it's own private balcony and plenty of doors to let in the light and ocean breezes. The architectural detailing and furnishings are high end. Designer kitchen features marble counters, a 6 burner gas stove, Sub-Zero Frig and all the utensils to delight any chef. The Kitchen/Living room is on the 2nd floor with the Bedroom suites on the 1st and 3rd just enough separation and privacy for a multi family situation.
The bedroom suites are a delight. Both master bedrooms open to over sized baths that feature dual vanities and large, walk in showers. The house has 4 beds (2 Kings and 2 Full size murphy beds). The Full size beds are in a suite off each King... it may not be private enough for a separate family, but certainly room enough for the kids or another adult. If unique is what you seek, this is the house for you.
FULL DISCLOSURE:
1. There are a lot of steps to get to the 3rd floor bedroom.
2. The Murphy full beds are off each Master Bedroom in a Suite setting with only doors to separate the Murphy bed from the main bedroom.
3. The house is not perfect. We get hit with severe weather (hurricanes, corrosion from the salt air, etc.) We work hard to keep it up, but it's not always perfect. If perfect is what you want, then please rent 4 rooms in a hotel.

I love this property and we had a return visit this time. Please check out my previous review—everything that I indicated was fixed for this day. Bathroom light was fixed upstairs, there was a nice set of knives, there were more dish rags, and dish towels. There was a set of beach towels as well as a set of beach chairs, so we would not have had to bring that stuff along this time. All the beautiful casserole dishes and serving platters are awesome. Thanks Tyler!

My son was married on the beach in front of this beautiful Spanish home. It was the perfect backdrop for photos and the inside of the home was beautiful in every ornate way.
The host was very chill and the Vrbo owner behind was also accommodating of our wedding day. They allowed us to use their patio furniture and were fun during our stay.
Each morning I sat out on a balcony with my coffee listening to the waves.
During the day we walked out to the beach with our body boards, bocce ball and sand toys.
It was fun to ride e-bikes to Bert’s )a local market that is open 25 hours and has literally anything
you want or need)
At the end of the beach (1 mile from the Spanish House) is Morris Island Light house. It is a beach the is great for Dolphin viewing and fishing. I jogged around and met my husband each day there. He loves to fish.
There is also a cool graffiti road leading to Morris Island. My son had our wedding guests venture there and sign his wedding guest book with spray paint. There is a ton to do in town. Lots of places to eat and some of our wedding guests did the escape room.
We loved our stay and recommend it as the perfect vacation retreat or wedding venue for smaller weddings.
There are a lot stairs…55 steps from top to bottom. My 80 year old mother had some difficulty. We enjoyed the way the home was split up. Each floor had a balcony to relax on.
The kitchen was excellent. Plenty of space for family meals.
We have stayed at many places.

This was our second time staying here and we absolutely love it. Great location right on the beach that has very few people. Anytime we go to Charleston we will always try to book the Spanish House!

Unfortunately not our best Vacation. Ill start with the good. The location is great close to the ocean. House is kinda cool to look at. From there it went downhill. Never received check in / check out information. Called no and no answer. Had a friend call and finally got an answer for door code to get in. Had to climb 3 flights of stairs for kitchen and 4 flights for Bedroom. Not fun. House was OK needs maintenance for sure. During visit developed bug bites all over from bathroom and bedroom so very unhappy about that. Got thru the week just to have owner message saying i owe them $$$ for cleaning. Keep in mind i never received check out information. Just not a good experience at all ...

Thanks to the awesome atmosphere even the inclement weather didn’t damper our time. Thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The steps can be challenging. Thank you for all provided to us

Waterfront location was outstanding. Views couldn’t be beat. Beds were very comfortable. Stairs are a bit much but we knew that going in and they were worth it overall. The owner was very responsive to our inquires and helping with all our inquires. If I return to Folly Beach it’s the house I’ll be staying at again

The Spanish House is unique. If you cannot handle stairs, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for beach front and you don't mind stairs or a little bit of mildew..this place is for you. The house itself definitely takes a hit from the wind/rain and you can see and smell water damage. Musty smell but we opened the doors and enjoyed the sound of the ocean. Views from every deck and window. Comfy beds, awesome showers and nice kitchen. The teens loved their level with their own deck. The adults loved the comfy den, deck and access to the beach. Folly was a fun town. Parking is a challenge but we figured it out. Teens loved to drive into town and get ice cream. We will come back for sure!

The views from the home are spectacular. There are a lot of stairs, so it is not appropriate for everyone.

What a spectacular place!! From the grand front entry to the elegant spiral staircases, to the beautiful furnishings and incredible ocean views with balconies on all 4 floors... this place is a 10!! We loved stepping out from the house onto the sand and strolling along the beach to the lighthouse or town. Good proximity to Charleston and Folly Beach downtown. Kids and adults all loved it!

Beautifully home but the mold was unbearable and a lot of maintenance is needed. The home has obviously had water infiltration that was not properly fixed. One of the girls has an allergy to mold and had difficulty the entire time we were there

We booked this beach house for my daughter's 13th birthday and it did not disappoint! The location and views are amazing - you literally step off the back steps and the ocean is at your feet. As stated in the listing, there are lots of steps, so be prepared. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and my daughter and her friends felt like princesses in a castle for the weekend. We used the massive deck and grassy area outside to host a lowcountry boil with her friends and it also was perfect. We are local and will definitely plan another retreat here!

This house has the best beach views in Folly but as the host said lots and lots of winding steps. If you can walk all the steps the house is soooooo worth it! Ocean all around you! 3 miles to downtown Folly

Read the reviews before arriving so that you are aware of all the quirks included in this property. The views, location and choice of balconies are amazing. The 50+ stairs to the top bedrooms is a workout but we were good with it. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, the rooms spotless and the bathrooms plentiful and large. I gave it a 4.5 because the maintenance is lacking, there are no curtains, the windows don't open and the sliders have no screens. So the only way to enjoy the ocean sound and breeze indoors is to leave the sliders open and let all the bugs in. That being said, we had a great time and would rent here again.

The location and views were absolutely amazing, the house itself could use some tlc and updates. There were multiple outlets that did not work, the outside door lock to the porch did not work it and could not be opened from the outside, the door knob to the upstairs bathroom was also broken. If you have issues with stairs this house is not for you.

Nice area of Folly and a house with great style. Property manager should take a walk through, some lights were flickering or completely out, and window curtains would be a nice addition, otherwise it was a great house. View is beautiful. House is spacious and has a great kitchen.

This was out of our budget but we saved extra and I do not have one single complaint about this property. It was breathtaking, and I felt like a princess in a castle the whole week.
Here are some things you might want to know (but none of these things are a complaint):
Sharks teeth! So many!
Bring toilet paper. There was only one roll per bathroom for us for the week.
If you are the type of person who washes dishes, bring some dishrags and some extra towels. These were minimal. (Plenty of paper towels there but we are more eco-friendly). There is no dish drainer.
There are tons of nice pans, lovely large serving dishes, casseroles, etc.
Knives are ok. Was glad I brought my own chef knife. Only a partial set of measuring spoons.
There are no blinds on any of the ocean side windows if that sort of thing worries you. Most of the time the water is so close that no one could be out far enough to see in, so wasn’t an issue for us.
Bathroom light on fourth floor still isn’t working, but we brought a battery lantern—problem solved. If you aren’t too squeamish to climb through the narrow passage to the roof, it is the best view on the whole island.
The entry level is perfect for storing all your gear inside—beach chairs, towels, toys, bikes, etc. Bring all that—there are not towels or chairs, etc. It was nice not to have to find a place to set all that stuff in the “living area.”
This is a one of a kind truly spectacular location. Thanks Tyler!

Beautiful home with fabulous location and view. King beds were very comfy, showers were amazing. I was sad to leave the shower with multiple heads including a rain style. Kitchen appliances all great, I’ve never seen this drawer style of microwave but it worked super well. Washer and dryer very nice. Yep, a ton of stairs as listing specifically states. I counted 56 from bottom to top. You can access roof but it’s a fixed ladder through a small hatch, not an area you would hang out in. But I took some amazing pics from up there. Patio furniture on every balcony and very comfy seating on porch/patio. Great swimming waves right out your door, just make sure you’re a strong swimmer. Cool to watch the surfers and ships coming and going from Charleston. Walked every morning down to the point and around, shells everywhere. Some previous reviews are critical of this house, we found it to be lovely. Of course it’s not perfect, it’s a beach rental! Would definitely recommend and book again!

Absolutely beautiful home! Me and my family enjoyed our girls trip! Lots of stairs which means sore leg but definitely worth it…hope to stay again in the Spring/Summer!

If you want a place for the view then this is it, but this house needs a lot of updating! I can name off so many things but I will name off a few. The bathroom light upstairs did not work we had to use a flash light just to have light, the dish washer is pretty much useless! I understand that things happen but the house really needs an update! When you pay good money to stay in a house for two weeks you expect at least appliances to be in working conditions!

Beautiful house on the beach. We really enjoyed our stay at the Spanish House. The view was amazing and all the bedrooms were well appointed with very nice linens. The kitchen was great and well-stocked. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs but I think you’ll see the climb is worth it.

Beautiful property right on the beach. Owner was so quick and responsive. No beach chairs so we bought a few and left them for the next people. You can't get closer to the beach and felt like we had our own private beach. House does have a lot of stairs which we were prepared for so no problems there. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing place to stay
We have been to Folly Beach and rented other properties. I must say that this is by far the best property we have EVER rented. The views from this place are breathtaking and the house is so cool. Their is even a roof deck!! The house was comfortable and well cared for. We had a great time and will be back next year for sure.

Spanish House
Everything was great but the stairs are brutal. The showers were impressive and the short distance to the beach (right outside the door) was amazing.

Stairway to heaven!
We rented this house for our family to stay for my daughters Folly Beach Wedding. It was nothing short of amazing. I was sold with the view alone but it was so much more. It provided room for us to gather as a family and a great space to host a breakfast brunch for my daughter’s bridesmaids as they prepared for the wedding. The kitchen space is amazing and we loved coffee on the balcony! The house was stunning in my daughter’s video and pictures prior to the ceremony. She and her husband had their first touch on the wedding day on the balcony outside the first floor. Communication with the host was prompt and courteous. I would love to come back here! Who cares about the steps! It’s the stairway to heaven! ❤️

The best
I used this house to honor my uncle for his memorial. I was nervous at first because of the stairs but it honestly wasn’t that bad. For elderly people yes but it was just like using the stairs in an apartment building rather than the elevator. Everything was perfect really and the house has everything you need. I adored the openness and the closeness of the beach. I definitely will be returning.

A perfect place for our extended family to gather together! The views, the beach and the home couldn't have been any better!

Old like the Biltmore!
Overall our vacation at this property was great! Pretty much any property this close to the beach would be for us! But the property is old like the Biltmore Estate we visited in Asheville except it hasn’t been updated. Furniture is old dusty dirty and sometimes broken. Coffee maker doesn’t work. Shower leaked on the floor. Several parts of the house were visibly patched from water damage. The Murphy beds for the kids were less than comfortable. One toilet wouldn’t flush. (Although someone did come to somewhat fix it the next day so it would flush but it kept running). And there were birds or bats in the vents of the house that you could hear squeak and flutter around. Oh and the stairs are not for the faint of heart. Besides that it was great!

5 star location!
We booked this house primarily for it's location and layout. Neither of those disappointed!! The beach is beautiful and the house design is perfect for 2 couples. The house has some minor deferred maintenance issues and accumulated dust in the harder to reach places - nothing that would keep us from booking again, but disappointing upon arrival.

Our fabulous family wedding weekend rental
My family and I stayed at Folly Beach for a weekend while attending a wedding. This house was terrific. It was absolutely perfect, it was very large and had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was well equipped and had all the extras. The entire great room had a wall of windows to the balcony overlooking the ocean with a spectacular view. It was an experience similar to staying in a first class hotel. The bathrooms and kitchen were over the top with marble counters and plush finishing touches. One example of this would be the spiral staircase with its exquisite wrought iron railing. There is an abundance of outdoor spaces - 3 ocean front balconies with ample seating, and a large deck filled with longe chairs and additional seating. You truly are just steps from the ocean. The owner was a joy to work with; and responded quickly when contacted. We had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this home.

Amazing Stay and House
We arrived and checked in seemlessly.the house and ocean view were amazing. There are many stairs that could pose a challenge for some, but we were fine. There are also a few updates required to furniture . The cleaning company also needs to slow down and dust the chandeliers and clean the freezer and refrig. We didn’t use the appliances and broken chairs.. overall the house is Amazing and I’d stay again

First time At Folly Beach
My brother and sister and I and our spouses had a great Valentine’s Day weekend and first trip to Charleston and Folly Beach. The views out of the windows in the morning and from the balconies are just gorgeous. Lots of stairs but that wasn’t a problem for us. The house is amazing and we all really enjoyed our stay!!
