A beautiful apartment with a spacious rooftop terrace set in a leafy residential area, perfect for visiting the museums and galleries close by.
7.0 / 10.0
The room was beautiful, with a comfortable bed and a pleasant terrace. We wanted to be near the museums and the location, in a residential neighborhood, was convenient. There was an elevator to the room on the top floor.
Everything but the nice room was a disappointment, when a great deal had been promised. It is called a Bed and Breakfast, but there was no breakfast, just a bowl of fruit and a few drinks. There was a kitchen but no facilities for cooking or even heating anything up - the owner told us (rather than asked) that we wouldn't be cooking so wouldn't need a cooktop, and with a wave said there was a microwave - the day we were leaving we found it in a low drawer, waiting for someone to set it up. The house was in the midst of a fairly major construction project so we were greeted by dust and construction materials. It didn't affect our entry, but it certainly was not what we expected from the reviews and the price. We felt strongly that we should have been told about the construction, and that the place had not been readied for visitors. We should certainly have been given a substantial discount. It comes very close to feeling like a scam.

The studio apartment was comfortable, clean and quiet. An elevator made the top floor location easy to access. The location was handy for sightseeing yet out of the crowded center. The bonus was a delicious neighborhood patisserie nearby, as well as grocery stores. The host was very helpful and made sure we got to the airport on time when we had a taxi problem. A gem!
All good.

The attention to detail at this property exceeded our expectations. The location was great, the check-in was easy and fast, the owner's hospitality was unmatched, and the room was made with love. The balcony has a really good vibe; the kitchen is well-equipped, everything is extremely clean, and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed we tried in years. Definitely well worth the price; we would book again without a doubt. Thank you for the experience!
After trying the bed and seeing its comfort, we want to buy one for ourselves. Unexpected expense! :D

Everything! an extremely comfortable room. The bed is excellent and the patio is a real bonus. Lots of light. having a private elevator directly to the room was a real bonus with bags.
Leaving. We’re in our supposed 4-5 star hotel in London and it doesn’t hold a candle to BB.

Location was excellent very close to museum Quarter and could easily reach city centre via bus or tram.
The bed was super comfortable and the apartment was well equipped.
The host Anke was very friendly and helpful.
We arrived late and there was water, wine and soft drinks in the fridge along with some peanuts which a lovely touch and made us feel at home right away.
There was also a list of restaurants and things to do in the area which was super helpful.
The host provided us with cards for the public transport system which saved us a lot of time and money.
Would definitely recommend and will be back in the future.

Daan is a super host, he met us at the entrance and helped us up to our room, which you get directly from the elevator, it's very convenient. The room met all our expectations a huge balcony with a beautiful view from which we watched new year's eve fireworks. In the fridge, we were greeted with light drinks and champagned. Daan gave us the new year gift of local donuts which were very tasty. Many thanks to him for this great accommodation and stay.

Great location, plenty of space and well-appointed. Never stayed in a room with both an electrically adjustable bed and a Japanese-styke electric toilet before. Wine, beer and a nice selection of tea and coffee. Some great books as well - use the walking guides. Good views from the balcony as well. Daan was an accommodating host. Note that this is not strictly a 'B&B' - there's no breakfast, but good options are nearby.
Apart from being a B&B that doesn't have breakfast, no major issues. A pleasure to meet Daan and enjoy his lovely apartment.

The view from the top floor apartment with the large rooftop patio was amazing. The adjustable king size bed was incredibly comfortable. The direct to top unit elevator was very convenient…no Amsterdamn steep stairs! The kitchen was a good size and I did manage to cook while visiting. Daan, the owner, was very helpful in making suggestions of things to do. Also, I arrived to a loving decorated apartment with a couple of bouquets of fresh cut flowers, artisan chocolates, and refrigerator stocked with water, Fanta, beer, and wine. What a treat! There is free Wifi and a TV as well.

First I want to thanks Mr. Daan Ruys for his hospitality and warm welcoming in his magnificent apartment.
I've been in Amsterdam city center many times, you will never find an elevator + spacious outdoor area + fancy amenities + full equipped apartment like this!
the location of the apartment is the best in Amsterdam without any doubt.
The neighborhood is very quite, classy, and far away from hassle and bustle of the city center. In, the same time, you are not far away from it!
Once you arrive, you will find a nice touches from the host such as (fruit, drinks, candy, water, juice...etc.)
But the most amazing thing that provided for me are two big favors and he know about them.
Thank you very much Mr. Daan Ruys and see you in the next trip to Amsterdam!
Wish I could live there

Daan our host was super friendly and helpful. The apartment was charming. Loved having a kitchen and having the patio/balcony. The location was ideal for our visit intended to go to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum nearby. It is actually better to stay a bit farther away from the really crowded sections of the city. Within striking distance, convenient enough without the hassles. Near the neighborhood De Pijp - hip and happening, lots of young people and good restaurants. I would go back next time we are in Amsterdam.
No complaints at all!

You immediately feel welcome, as the host explains all the amenities. The whole appartment is very comfortable and the bed is very comfortable. The terrace is big with a beautifull view over Amsterdam. The location is very good near the Vondelpark and all the big musea. An amazing place!

Daan, the host provided coffee, tea, fruit juice, water, wine and beer and fresh fruit in the apartment. He had also bought fresh flowers. He gave useful information about how to get to tourist places & restaurants and provided passes for Metros and trams. Daan contacted us before we arrived with directions and asked about any requirements and he checked in with us during our stay to make sure we were ok, having fun & had everything we needed. He’s a really helpful, friendly guy.
Can’t think of anything 😊

What a lovely stay. Spacious studio. Comfy bed. And you never felt too crammed because the outside patio. On top of that the host couldn’t be nicer and more helpful. He even let us borrow his phone and computer charger! All in all a very warm and welcoming stay during our time there.
It wasn’t surrounded by the Amsterdam canals, but absolutely just a walk away!

Great accommodation in a beautiful neighborhood. A wonderful apartment with an amazing terrace overlooking the city. It is the fifth floor, but you don't have to worry, the elevator will take you directly to the apartment. Inside you will find everything you need. It is very cozy here, everything is well thought out - a perfect spot for couples.
It is also the perfect base for exploring the city. The main attractions are really close, you can easily walk. There are tram stops and an underground station nearby. There are many interesting restaurants and cafes in the area with excellent food and drink.
Daan, our host, was just amazing. A great guy who will do everything in his power to make your stay pleasant. My wife and I spent a week here and we felt very comfortable. I can't imagine choosing any other place on our next visit to Amsterdam.
Dear Daan, thank you very much for a wonderful holiday!
Nothing at all!

Fantastic apartment-like hotel room in a super nice, quite central but yet still very quiet location.
The host really is a GREAT host, making sure to measure your every need, but without pushing. He totally respected our privacy. Upon arrival we were being greeted with chocolate and nicely cold beer in the fridge. Giving you a Metro card that is already filled with money for your first trip/ride, as he has this very smart deal with his “renters” that when they leave they make sure there’s enough money left on the card for the new “renters” to start their journey, is just one of the many ways, that shows how the host is going that extra mile for its “renters
The terrace is SO lovely with a FANTASTIC View overlooking the city. The bed is probably one of the best bed we’ve ever slept in, unless it was a 5 star luxury hotel. And you don’t have to carry your luggage up any stairs, because there’s a private elevator going directly to your room. And be sure to make our way to the the toilet as many times possibly, as is sure is an experience you’ll probably never ever forget....
The host even provided us with a folder, that contains information about how to get around, what to see and do, where to eat etc.
This is most definitely THE PLACE to live, if you’re ever thinking about visiting Amaterdam, AAAAAAAND, it even comes with free parking
The kitchen is pretty much fully equipped with whatever equipment you might need. However we could have used some bowls and dishes for when serving our food, and maybe a peeling or vegetable knife.
And even though there’s a microwave we REALLY missed having a real oven, as making Lasagna just doesn’t quite work without one...
But those are just minor details and didn’t ruined our overall experience...

The facilities were boutique style, all top of the line, beds, toilet. We were received with a full fridge and perks. The host was super helpful in guiding us with our requests as well. The location was super convenient, a couple of blocks from museums and De Pijp neighbourhood.
Nothing bad to say.
