Beautifully appointed rental perfect for a beach getaway! This property offers a unique feature with a private dock and dockhouse! Truly a must see...There is a private playground for guests only. Beautiful marsh views and only a few blocks away from the beach! Fishing available off the dock. Our initial thought was to convert the property back to 1 whole space sans the divisions. We however soon found that to do so would involve essentially tearing the structure down and starting over as these renovations would require that we bring the building up to current code. This home is pre- 1970's and because of the nostalgia and charm of the place, we decided to leave it as is for now. Having said this, there are quirks to the property including slower drains, and some nostalgic flooring dating. to the 1970's. We personally. love the. character or the place and hope you will enjoy it as well!

Overall good unit & would stay again. Recommendations, A/C units are very loud inside. Water pressure is extremely low if someone in another unit is using water. The shower is about to fall through the floor from water damage underneath.

This is our favorite family vacation place. We rent two of the apartments. Everyone has their hang out spots. The kids love the playground and adults love the dock and screen house. A nice 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach.
Many little quirks. But I didn’t pay for the Taj Mahal. I paid for family time.. Love this place.

This house was very cute and in a good area by the beach. I came there on vacation for 3 days with some friends so I wasn’t there much . The toliet and shower was both leaking and the facut was dripping terribly. I could not get in touch with the host at all and the wifi givin did not work so we were left with 0 service.

We immediately check the beds and bedding. There were blood stains on the sheets and blankets. Pretty sure there was smeared blood on the bathroom wall. The shower seemed a bit unsafe. There were bugs that crawled in and out of the hole in the wall behind the toilet-shower. As much as people pay to stay places you can at least make sure everything is clean and or sanitized.

Was disappointed, woke up to no water 2 days. Called and but no one called back. The couch rubbed off on clothes. It had an odor. Sorry, but disappointed.

the brackish tenement
Location great, dock good, the apartment unit is a subdivided subdivision of a house, poorly equipped kitchen (for one example of many, the kitchen knife was one bent, stained, cheap steak knife), you get to hear all your neighbors do everything and vice versa, bring your own bedding, don't expect every appliance to work.

Not as pictured
House was dirty and in need of repair and replacement of some furniture. Bathroom needs major work done, someone might get hurt with the floor falling apart and shower does not feel safe. Floors were dirty, kitchen had a cockroach on the counter by coffee maker. One bedroom seems to be a closest, with no air unit and extremely hot. The boathouse was nice however you can not enter the dock, use the boats or paddleboards with no trespassing signs. Couch was falling apart and the living room smelt of pet urine, very few items for the kitchen. I have used VRBO a lot over the years and this is one of the dirtiest and most in need of repairs rentals I have ever stayed in. It was overpriced for the amount of work needed.

The boat house and playground was great. But as far as the units the property is split in 4 and we had the least nice of the units. Small rooms and close together. The “front door” was a slidingdouble glass door with no cover or blinds so every time one of the other tenants walk by they see your whole apartment. There was no sliding door stop so it didn’t feel safe. I slept in the front room because of that. Anyone over 100 pounds could have opened that door. The others were definitely bigger and probably nicer. As far as unit C? Unless you are a frat I wouldn’t recommend. No dishwasher or central air and small dated LOUD air conditioners. Can’t sleep because it’s too loud or too hot….you pick….

Any of the quarks seem pretty standard for an old house in the south.
Shower is small but that is only my opinion, husband and kids didn’t seem to mind at all.
Bring a beach wagon if you are bringing any beach toys, bogie boards and such.
Bring your fishing gear and enjoy the property!

Good, But Not as Described
Overall, we had a great time.. the house was cute as a button (besides the red shedding sofa) and the property was beautiful. Location was great. Somethings that you should definitely be aware of before renting:
1) Pictures are VERY deceiving! It’s not a house, it’s an apartment style complex
2) There are NO cleaners in the house whatsoever. Though the house itself was very clean when we got there, there were no cleaners available as the weekend went on to clean after ourselves
3) Dock & Waterway is beautiful... BUT tide swing gets crazy low, so if you’re taking a boat, just know you won’t be getting in or out of that creek until high tide
4) The dock house/dock is shared between all of the renters

Great family vacation
Love the quirky house. We rented two of the units this was smaller than unit 1 but had everything that was needed. The grandkids loved the playground. The fisherman loved the dock.

Good, but not as described
Overall the location and neighborhood are great.
The photos in the listing must be years old because the couch is so peeled, it leaves little red crumbs all over your body and clothes when you sit there. Though generally the space is adequate size for our 4 adult, 2 kid group, the extremely low water pressure and the shower not draining made it much harder to have multiple people staying there. There seems to be some flooring issue in the bathroom, as the shower seems to be falling through the ground when you step in it. The refrigerator had a constant extreme stench of dead fish, which when opened, would completely immerse the apartment in stench. All of the 4 a/c window units MUST be running constantly in order for the space to be even remotely cool.
They’re VERY loud but necessary. The groundskeeper is very kind and had great advice on the neighborhood and best things to do in the area. Many of the lightbulbs in the bathroom, outside, in lamps, etc just weren’t working. Bring a flashlight if you need to see at night.
The unit is a triplex. You WILL have neighbors above and beside you. The Ceiling must be absolutely paper thin because if someone is tiptoeing upstairs, you’ll be up all night with echos louder than thunder.
The marsh area and dock house are very nice and well kept, however the boat and dock on the marsh are very unsteady and unsafe. There’s absolutely no way the boat is able to be used as anything other than decor.
We wouldn’t stay here again unless some extreme improvements were to be made.

Description of the property wasn't quite clear
I thought we were renting a 3 bedroom house. Turns out it was a large house divided into three apartments. Overall cleanliness of the unit was not all that great and there were absolutely no cleaning supplies in the unit to clean up after ourselves. We did just happen upon a broom that was outside on the patio. Patio was very dirty, it had not been sweeped, the patio table was dirty. One bed appeared to be new, one was very dated and stained, we discovered at checkout when we stripped the beds. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. It sufficed for the few days we were there. Something the property manager should consider is providing cleaning supplies, broom, mop, dust pan, extra paper towels and some antibacterial cleaning agents. The onsite maitenance was very nice and informative. We enjoyed our chats with him.

All worth it for that dock house!
Unfortunately the property manager was unresponsive and the check-in process was incredibly unclear. I waited outside for an hour until a neighbor helped me out. Later I ended up helping another family that came to stay on the property who were roaming around outside struggling the same way. No soap in the bathroom (just a pile of hotel room body lotions). Confusing/conflicting wifi instructions. Says it sleeps 6 but really only sleeps 5 unless someone sleeps on the couch that's falling apart (not a pull-out, just a regular couch).
However, this average vacation home became the cutest damn thing when we walked down to the dock house. Nestled at the end of a little peninsula between the creek that comes in an out with the tide. Complete with a screened in area for games or hangs, fire pit, swinging bench, and grill - we spent 80% of our entire stay back there and never felt a need to leave! We LOVED it there.

Loved the location but not impressed.
Outdoor area was beautiful but suite 2 could use some work. The couch was fake leather & peeling off everywhere a couch cover would make a great difference. Most of the light bulbs were blown. Other furniture was wicker, need comfortable seating not just for looks. Toilet was tucked in corner between wall and shower as a bigger woman this was horrible. Bathroom was big, the toilet could have been put on other side where towel rack was not a good layout. Rooms were nice. TV & internet were awful only had firestick & a hot spot couldnt get anything to play without using our own hot spots. So basically no tv not even basic cable. Manager is nice but doesnt like to be bothered to answer questions. Has washer and dryer but take super long need updated and parking area was small for 4 units. Overall had a nice vacation but will rent elsewhere if return to Tybee again.

The check in process states to text a number the time of arrival, I messaged the owner at 1:30pm and told her that we would be arriving around 6 pm, there was no response until 5:45pm. Once arriving on the property there was no guidance as to which unit was ours. Immediately upon arrival we went to use the restroom after a long road trip and after one of the males in our group Peed and tried to flush the water climbed to the rimes the toilet. We change clothes and then head out to town for dinner. The next morning trying to use the restroom the toilet completely clogged and the sink and shower began making a gurgling sound anytime water was ran in the unit. I messaged the owner at 9:30 that morning and explained that the plumbing in our unit was completely unusable. We cannot even shower without the fear of sewage coming up through the drain. I had to message the owner again at 12:15 PM, I called two times, and text again at 2pm was was absolutely no response until 4 PM stating that they had contacted maintenance that is what is most likely an issue caused by previous guests. At 5:30 PM that evening The owner reached out again asking if the problem has been resolved I am mediately responded that it had not. So night number two on our trip we were still unable to shower. They asked that if we see a maintenance man on site to make him aware of the issue. We were told with it being New Year’s weekend that she was unable to get The plumber they usually use to come out to the property. Around 7 PM she offered the unit adjacent to us to move into at 7:20pm I asked when that unit would be available, No response until 8:00 AM THE FOLLOWING MORNING. On our last night of the trip we had a unit that had plumbing. Once checking out the morning of the end of our stay, the owner responded in less than one minute. So the entirety of our three day trip we only had plumbing for 24 hours. No apology. The unit that we were shifted into was stayed “rented for more money”, upon looking into the claim there was only a one dollar difference between the two units. No offer of any type of refund and once again not a single apology The location of this property is very quiet and has a absolutely beautiful layout. I read reviews for this property from October 2020 Speaking about the same plumbing issue, I assumed that in two months that they had most likely been resolved. I was wrong. Hours of delay in response from owner, unless checking out. Be cautious.

Great location, funky house
This location is unparalleled - a quiet little corner, just 4 blocks from the beach, with a long causeway out into the marsh, a very nice dock and deck at the marsh, and a screened 'oyster house' near the dock. It's hard to imagine 6 adults sharing the rental unit - one bathroom, tiny kitchen with no dishwasher. Comfortable for two, at most three people. We had bathroom plumbing problems that the very responsive on-site manager was unable to resolve, in spite of heroic efforts. We hope that the owners won't be renting this unit until those problems are completely fixed. They gave us a partial refund. The wifi and television service are terrible, running off a mobile hot spot in a location without much service. Don't count on watching sports or streaming videos, go out and enjoy the marsh and the beach.

Me and my group of 6 friends had the best experience with this property! Very spacious and only about 8 minute walk to the beach. Very peaceful and quiet area. Loren was a great help when we had a very small maintenance issue - he came to fix right away! Thank you again!

It’s was a little nice place misty stay at the beach it was really hard to get in contact with the owner. WiFi for the kids and tv suck at night, rooms were small but had nice beds outside was wonderful for the kids and family. Not really wrong just had a hard time with the owner. And some place wasn’t kid friendly

Great stay and beautiful views!
We rented the place for our anniversary weekend, but it was also a family getaway. The place was just like the pictures and we enjoyed it. Our 3 year old daughter enjoyed playing on the playground. The view of the marsh was beautiful, and my husband was able to go with the kayak and also go crabbing. One thing I didn't realize when I was booking this place is part of a triplex. It's a house with 3 different apartments/entrances. We were in the downstairs unit and it didn't have central air but window units. We did get used to it towards the end of our stay. The beach is a few blocks away, you can walk or take your car and find a parking spot and pay $2/hour. The owner was very helpful with any questions we had and recommendations of things to do with our toddler. We recommend this place to families traveling to Tybee Island.
