About this house rental
GENERAL INFO
This home is a quick walk or bike ride to downtown Salida and can serve as the hub of your activities. Located only 5 blocks (1/2 mile) from Historic Salida and less than 1 block from the Arkansas River. Our new build (2017) home is light, bright, and features awesome mountain views. There is a good balance of common space and bedrooms (4) so everyone can gather together, but also have some privacy. Perfect for several couples, groups and families, with bed space for up to 9 people.
The kitchen has tons of counter space and plenty of coffee cups and wine glasses. Step outside and soak up some sun on the rooftop deck; store your toys in the garage. You're invited to make yourself at home here!
Enjoy close access to MTB, running and hiking trails, river sports plus downtown shopping and dinning is only two minutes drive away.
Cook out on the private second story deck and soak in mountain views from the huge upstairs windows.
PERKS
Includes garage, driving and on street parking spots. Plenty of storage space for bikes, skis, kayaks and fishing equipment.
Free wifi, TV's in double rooms plus secure coded entry.
You'll find many of the comforts of home -- plenty of pillows, fuzzy blankets, and a kitchen stocked with tea, coffee, and cooking essentials (and more)!
We do have high-speed internet (wifi) throughout the house. Two TVs (one in the main living space, one in the master) both have Apple TVs capable of streaming Netflix, Amazon Video, Sling, etc. The main TV has Hulu Live loaded so you can always find something to watch and HBO is included!
Bathrooms are stocked with plenty of towels (beach towels, too, for river or hot springs adventures). There is also lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.
In the side table upstairs, you'll find plenty of books for reading and board games for playing. On top of the side table a Scull Candy wireless speaker so that you can enjoy the music you love.
ADDITIONAL INFO
Please note that the main living space is on the top level; guests will need to climb a flight of stairs to access the kitchen, living room, master suite, and deck. The views from the second floor are amazing!
Like many mountain homes, our house does not have air conditioning. On hot summer afternoons the second floor can get warm; however, by running the ceiling fans and opening the windows in the evening, the house will be cool by bedtime.
Our home is family friendly with baby gate, bed guard on bunk, pack and play, kids toys, stuffed toys, children's books, and toddler plates and utensils. All we ask in return if you bring your family is that you respect our home as if it were your own. We want our house to be as welcoming and inviting to our guests as it is to our family.
Ground level: three bedrooms, one bathroom, laundry room, double garage.
Second level: master bedroom/bathroom, powder room, kitchen, living room, deck.
GUEST ACCESS
You'll have access to the entire home (minus the small owner's closet).

This modern house was fun to stay in and use as a base for our hiking vacation. Its central location helped us enjoy several great hikes near Salida and made it very convenient to hike near Buena Vista. We especially enjoyed the rooftop deck!

Love our home away from home. Salida should really make sure VRBO properties flourish in a way that continues to promote the tourism industry in this amazing mountain town.

This house was perfect for our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids). There was plenty of room to spread out, and the house was well-stocked with all of the necessities. We were able to walk to restaurants and shopping, which was great, and it's a quick 30-minute drive to the ski area. The owners were very communicative and helpful. We would stay here again.

We booked this home away from home for a little mom's weekend away. Our small group of twin moms booked this property. It was quiet, well kept, clean, comfy, and close to town. So much to explore and this property had the perfect amenities to spend a weekend relaxing and enjoying some kidfree time together!

A brand new property in a transitional neighborhood that is gentrifying but did have a very decrepit apartment complex just across the street. Close to downtown but upstairs master is noisy with nearby busy road noise. No air conditioning (which was as advertised) but you can hear the road because the windows have to be open to cool off. The kitchen and living is open to each other and nice. The kitchen has nice dinnerware and cookware. Our guests in the downstairs bedrooms reported a very quiet evening and no road noise although one complained of a very hard bed. The bed in the master was nice. One pet peeve is that the hangers in the master were just junk. For what we were paying, I would expect better. And maybe have bottles of refillable soaps in the bathrooms so we don't have mostly empty bottles. There is an outside deck upstairs deck which is just amazing and in the shade. Very nice to spend time out there. The backyard at ground level is not inspiring and full of weeds and rocks. Overall though we had a nice time. It was a good base camp for our family.

Delightful stay in Salida - this home is easily accessible to everything you'll need/want to do in town. The hosts were lovely to deal with and we loved spending our evenings on the rooftop patio stargazing. Thanks for a comfy and safe space to spend our family vacation.

Great home in a good location--this was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the .5 mile walk to all restaurants and shops in downtown Salida.

This is a great place to stay! There were 6 ladies who stayed here. It was great to have 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms because we all had enough space. It was clean and very nicely decorated. The rooftop deck is perfect to hang out on, and the mornings and evenings are nicely shaded. We did yoga one morning on the deck. The walk to town isn’t too far, and our car stayed parked in the garage the whole time we were there. We highly recommend a stay at this place!

We have been here before and the property is perfect for a group of adults who want their own bedrooms! Close to downtown and the mountain bike trails on S Mountain!! The owners of the property are wonderful to work with! They were flexible with us on our arrival date (I messed up by reserving the wrong weekend) and didn't even charge us a penalty fee for what was clearly my mistake in booking. We will be back again and again and again!

We loved our time in Salida. The location of the property is super convenient to downtown. Quick 5 min walk and you are in the heart of it all. The pictures actually don't do this place justice. Our family of 5 had plenty of space and sleeping was great. Although it is close to the "action" it is a very quiet spot at night. Lots of deer roaming the streets in the evening. The owners are very communicative and helpful.
Great spot in Salida.

This home is ideal for a weekend getaway- super close to downtown and easy to get to monarch. The owners are responsive and have a wonderful property.

The owner was very warm and gracious. Communication was nearly, instantaneous to every query. The property perfectly met our needs (7 adults) and exceeded our expectations. The layout was a bit unusual, with most of the bedrooms (except the master) on the first (ground) floor, and the living area and kitchen on the 2nd floor, but I really like this design. Ewen, thanks for sharing your beautiful home,

This is a wonderful new house that's close to the river and to downtown. Very convenient. The house is well laid out for a larger group with a very nice outdoor patio. We had a small issue with the furnace but the owners resolved it faster than we could at home and in the process communicated during the whole process. I don't profess to be a huge VRBO user but I've never seen owners as responsive. They were great. We would highly recommend this place specifically and Salida in general.
