Beautiful new 2 bedroom 1 bathroom chalet tucked away in the Forrest Glenn subdivision located in Talkeetna, Alaska. The historic village of Talkeetna is nestled at the base of North America's tallest peak Mt. McKinley (Denali). Talkeetna has an outstanding panoramic view of the Alaska Range that can be enjoyed and photographed from several places as you wander through town, and discover what this unique location has to offer:
Flightseeing, fishing, riverboat tours, float trips, hiking, nordic skiing, mushing, mountain climbing, ATV tours, snowmachine tours, and zipline tours, unique lodging, art galleries and gift shops, places to dine and have a locally brewed beer... and of course year-round frontier hospitality!

Great place to base out of. Very comfortable with the exception of the Master King bed. It sounds like you are sleeping on paper because it is so loud--never heard of this problem before. It also has the "lump" in the middle leaving the 2 divets in the other sides. Needs a replacement for a truly great place.

This little chalet is super cute and in a great location for those trying to get a glimpse of Denali from the state park or Talkeetna. It has a great little kitchen and living area with all the nice little extras. However, the mattresses in the master bedroom and bottom bunk are completely done in. For someone who needs back support, it was very uncomfortable. The shower/tub also has no handles for anyone with mobility issues. We did appreciate the host's great communication and the peaceful and quiet location. It was just that the poor mattresses made for some bad night's rest.

Great house with everything we needed. Easy drive to Talkeetna and a base for a day trip to Denali National Park. Best views of the mountain were from overlook going into Talkeetna. House was well stocked and thoughtfully done. It was a great choice for our family of 6 adults and an infant.

This was our family’s favorite place we stayed in Alaska. Clean nice cabin, good location - feels like you’re alone in the woods, but just a few minutes away from Talkeetna. We drove up to Denali one day and down to Hatcher pass another - longer driving days but easily doable.

The property was exactly what we needed during one portion of our dream vacation. It was a perfect stopover to break the trip up between Anchorage and Denali. The house was spotless and had everything we needed to cook our own meals and freshen our clothes during our multi week trip to Alaska. Check-in process was easy which was great after a long day traveling. The shops in town were delightful. Just wish the King Salmon Season was not shut down early so we could have fished for them. Would definitely stay again if we have the opportunity.

The Glen Forest Chalet is a peaceful retreat conveniently located outside Talkeetna and just two hours from Denali National Park. The cabin is tastefully decorated with comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the wood burning stove on cool nights. The highlight of our visit was a moose munching in the front yard.

We were so happy that we booked this for our final days in Alaska. It allowed us time to wind down and really take in the beauty of Talkeetna in nature! We stopped at Cubby's grocery store on our way in to buy food as we wanted to not visit any more restaurants. This VRBO had all kitchen items we needed to make food plus the grill. You will not be disappointed if you book this VRBO!

We loved our recent stay in Talkeetna. The cabin was perfect for my husband and I and our son and his girlfriend. We bought groceries in Anchorage and cooked all of our meals. The kitchen was well stocked with nearly everything we needed to cook some gourmet yet healthy meals. The cabin is located in a perfect location. There are neighbors close enough that you don't feel like you're completely isolated. But there's still enough distance between houses that you aren't butted up against neighbors. And it's dark enough at night to see the northern lights. The shower was amazing - one that you could stay in for days as the weight of the world is washed away from your shoulders. The internet based TV was perfect for watching documentaries about Alaska and crime dramas. We could cross country ski down the driveway and through the neighborhood. The local bakery is nothing short of amazing - try the brownies. They won't disappoint. We also caught some live music in town on Friday night and had a beer at Denali Brewing. While Talkeetna is known more for it's summer vacations, we found the winter to be a perfect time to visit.

The house was in a very quiet wooded area that was close enough to Talkeetna to easily get there and back. It was well furnished, and we enjoyed the cornhole boards on the property. The directions emailed to us was a bit confusing and we did end up just using google maps with the address and that was the easiest way we found to get to the property.

We loved staying here. The host was so responsive and thorough and made us feel right at home. The kitchen was well stocked to allow us to cook our meals there. The location was wonderful! We would stay there again the next time we’re in Alaska!

The cabin has simple layout and worked well for our family of 5. When we were at the cabin, the rain, misquitos and tall grass kept us mostly inside but we did enjoy hanging out on the deck in the evenings after dinner.

We stayed for 4 nights in the cabin, and it was clean, comfortable and plenty of space for our family of 4. Hot water was abundant and shower was great (tall shower head). Mattresses are very soft, sunk right in after days filled hiking. Chalet is about 5 miles from town, so easy to get to restaurants and excursions. Only criticism was that grill and pots/ pans were heavily used and could be replaced. (Kids wished there was more than one Roku remote.) House included coffee, tea, and basic condiments. Wish we had known that before stopping at a store on the way in.

What a wonderful place to stay! It was clean and had very comfortable beds with a sleeper sofa and roll-away bed. It was great to have a washer and dryer, as well as a dishwasher. You could tell the owners had added special touches (like lighting in the closets) and a nice decor. I would love to rent this home again, if I was in the area.

Our favorite spot was the front porch for morning quiet time and evening dinners. The home is just as listed and comfortable as can be to stay in. Endless hot water was a real bonus in allowing back to back showers after a day hike. The weather was quite warm and sunny our week there so showers were a must when returning home each day. The beds were comfy, furniture quality, and the washer and dryer worked great! It was a bit hard to find the first day but we followed directions in a VRBO message and not the ones specifically sent by the owner....our mistake. We called her around 10 pm and she so kindly guided us to the home. We found communication with the owner was excellent from start to finish! We definitely recommend this home in the Talkeetna area! It is wooded but pretty close to grocery and the small town and not an undesirable distance even to Denali National Park.

We so much enjoyed our stay in this home! The beds were comfortable as was all the furniture. It had everything we needed, although kitchen is not stocked for gourmet cooking, but adequate for our needs. A few storage containers for left overs would have been helpful. We loved the very cold faucet water as well as the very hot water on endless supply. Porch sitting for mornings and meals was a favorite. Location was good for our hiking with a little travel. We were very happy with this property.
